In all we do know what kind of goody two shoes our hero is. But nevertheless MacGyver also remains human, a person with needs and guilty pleasures, so I was just wondering what do you think his guilty side is? And with guilty I mean secretive, maybe even dark. Something only he knows, something you wouldn't expect of him.

For instance, is he really such a health freak or does even Mac dare to sin once in a while and have a hamburger with fries? Or eat sweet candy, a bag of potato chips or salted sticks and pretzels and drink cola during a movie when nobody's around? Other things...?

These are just a few things I can come up with and I already know the answer of course. Like he would tell everyone it's unhealthy but does it himself anyway. He did suggested cheeseburgers though in Family Matter but he told Nikolaï Rostov hotdogs are weak, while he doesn't shy away from pizza though: The Wish Child (pizza a la MacGyver), Easy Target.

It might be hard to try and think of something that he actually does that nobody knows about. I still think Mac would choose yoghurt and orange juice over candy, salted sticks, potato chips and cola during a movie. Sometimes I think that must be but I know he can resist it.

From my own perception Mac wouldn't mind to eat whatever he wants in a particular occasion, but he won't take it seriously just like one timer, from food perspective he already made his decisions, but he is open to try new things...

this guilty thing makes me wonder, the last time that I saw RDA with a cigarette in a picture- would Mac do it? cause that may be one the "most dark secret ever" anyway, since the girl stuff was like removed you may question, what if he has more childs out there, in addition there are moments in which he may feel alone, besides being busy how is he able to deal with it-

I can dig the occasional potato chip but I can understand why he might and/or might not. I think what Mac doesn't do is just like why he doesn't drink... out of habit and old habits die hard.

I don't think you should be worried about possible other children of Mac. Even then there were ways to be safe on that matter. But maybe he has a hidden magazine somewhere or has rented a certain video.

Well, he played "Beer League" hockey. That's not to say that all beer league players drink alcohol ..... but it is a signature of that sports genre and those that do not indulge after a game are in the definite minority.

I think his guilty pleasure is probably ice cream - he does seem to be enjoying the one we see in the opening credits!
Yep, western on the telly, feet up on the couch with his sneakers still on and ice cream eaten straight from the tub, that's my guess!

Which we know he didn't use. If he did there wouldn't be a SAM in his life.

True. But maybe he only didn't use it with her. For as much we know of Kate, she really seemed his kind of woman. It's kinda hard to make some sort of opinion on the use of birth control matters during a time I didn't live myself. If he didn't use it and she didn't use it... Did she use it and became pregnant after all, or was she going to use it but forgot because of her work? Even though she must've known it the last time they were together.

Or maybe watching a hockey game or playing a video game....

Well, besides the obvious... I think his guilty pleasure was probably food related, as he did seem to like to eat in the first season.

Now, this is just me and my opinion, but my thought is that since his mother died of a stroke, it's probably genetic. He may have been concerned of the same happening to him, so he turned to a more healthier lifestyle.

As we know he loves coffee in Season 1 & 2, but apparently stops drinking it around Season 3 and in Season 4 (Parker House), Penny mentions that MacGyver won't drink coffee because it's too hard on his stomach.

Sounds like he cut out a lot of things for "health" reasons. Which is generally a smart thing to do.

He did say to Deborah, he didn't drink coffee either. Unless that was part of trying to charm her.

Can't remember Penny saying that though but in Invisible Killer, a later episode, he sniffs the coffee and says: 'wow, who made that?' So maybe he still wanted a cup.

LOL...yep! Bet he would love all the pretty colors and designs it comes in nowadays! That's one thing my dad and Mac have in common. We always have at least one roll of duct tape in the house (a specific brand, of course) and when anything breaks my dad threatens to get it. Even takes a roll on vacation "just in case". Have even given him duct tape as a gift! Good Lord, could Mac and my dad have been separated at birth!??!

MacGyver is very guilty and dark and it is because he stole the last chocolate chip cookie that was meant to be for Pete.

No....he was just helping Pete stay on track with his diet!

MacGyver is also very guilty for distracting me whilst I'm in Literature class now
