Yanna asks why the police brought her family to the prison and she asks MacGyver if it has something to do with the watch. When the camera is behind MacGyver and Yanna, you can see MacGyver lower his binoculars down to just in front of his chin. When the camera moves to MacGyver's right side, the binoculars that should be right in front of him are nowhere in sight.

Whan MacGyver encounters Yanna for the 2nd time & asks her to return his swiss army knife and the watch she stole from him. After a bit of haggling the tells him "OK MacGyver, I'll get you your watch" The problem here is that at NO point during their 1st or 2nd encounter did MacGyver tell Yanna his name !

While trying to get across the border, MacGyver and Yanna's family are driving through buildings and outdoor restaurants. In one scene a grey security car pulls up to block the 3 cars and a guy in a white shirt and black pants can be seen slowly moving out of the way. Then, when the camera switches to the other side of the security car, the guy is gone even though he should be visible towards the center of the screen.

At the end of the car chase scene, when the bad guys come out of the pipe and go into the river, the car passes by the camera from right to left. In that moment, you can see that the two people inside the car are, in fact, crash test dummies

If you look at the number plates on the police cars, before MacGyver messes with the
traffic lights, then you'll see that there Hungarian plates, but when they go to the
stolen scenes from the Italian Job, the number plates become Italian, then at the border
they're back to being Hungarian again!

Being a horse person, I find that I must nit-pick on this one. In the opening gambit Mac steals the horse back from bandits somewhere obviously in the Middle East. Now if I know anything about horses and culture out that way, the horse should be an Arabian or at least a T-bred. However the white horse is obviously a Quarter horse, now, a very nice Quarter horse, but a Quarter horse nonetheless.

I had no idea there were that many problems in this episode. harhar.gif

Due to use of clips from the movie The Italian Job during the car chase sequence, some goofs are created: When Yanna's brother in the white car grabs the chicken, in the shot immediately following four men can be seen in the white car, two in the front and two in the back. In all previous and subsequent shots, only two men are in the car, both in the front seats; street signs can be seen in Italian, though the episode takes place in Budapest; license plates flip-flop between those used in Italy and Hungary.

The stunt double who does MacGyver's slide down the roof to evade the police at the bar has noticeably darker hair than Richard Dean Anderson.

During the car chase scene, a man wearing blue coveralls reaches out of the left window of the car and grabs a chicken, but a closeup shows that he was sitting on the right and had grabbed the chicken on the same side.

I noticed that too. Also caught the not mentioning his name to Yanna right away.

at the beginning when the helicopter flies overhead on the beach there is salt water spray that hits the camera and drips down

I'm surprised they were allowed to use that entire scene from The Italian Job without any law suits. hmm.bmp

They either pay to use the scenes, or the movie was made by the same company which made MacGyver and they get the scenes for nothing.

That makes sense. it was a great chase scene anyways, so I really can't object much. In fact, this episode is where I first saw the Mini chase. I didn't see either version of The Italian Job till a year or so later.

I don't think you could whip up a bomb out of fertilizer, weed killer and battery acid, seems a liiiitle far fetched tongue.gif even if you could make some sort of chemical reaction in a bucket it wouldn't explode like it did because for an explosion to happen it has to build up pressure. impossible in an open bucket. still it was an early episode in the first season, they made the macgyverisms a little more feasable as the show progressed season to season. ^^

Just saw this in the opening gambit. When MacGyver enters the camp in the desert he grabs a man and punches his lights out to steal his wardrobe. As he does this in the left upper corner of the screen you can very clearly see a parked car behind the tent. Though it's very difficult to see, maybe even people watching the scene.

Crew maybe? Unless Mac drove all the way up in the desert but I think the idea was that Mac was in deep desert with nomads and no available vehicles nearby.

I noticed that too. It may have been mistake, that car is seen in the background, propably belongs for crew.
The gambit all in all gave feeling that there isn't any automobiles available in those lands and also it made me thinking, if that chief in the tent isn't still not too old fashioned guy, who only travels with horses, so maybe it belongs to him laugh.gif

The name plate on the mop bucket that Mac uses to make his "chili" bomb has a nameplate on the front. It says "White". Since they are supposed to be in Hungary, shouldn't the nameplate be in Hungarian?

It's funny the things that you can catch on DVD that would never have been caught on the original showing! biggrin.gif
