Post your vacation or travel shots here |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 15 December 2007 - 03:35 AM |
This has to be the most awe inspiring building I've ever encountered. I visited Washington DC while on vacation in the US a couple of years ago. We took the metro train in to the "federal triangle" station? ( I can't recall if thats the name of it or not, but you walk up out of the station into the national mall anyway. So we walked up the stairs and out onto the national mall and I turned and saw the capital building in all it's majestic greatness and uttered somethign along the lines of "WOW!!! ...it was quite an experience! |

Some pictures of my recent vacation in Bavaria (Southern Germany) |
Posted by: MacsChick 15 December 2007 - 09:57 AM |
Both of you guys made some fantastic shots! I'm impressed! I have a strong urge to visit Bavaria now--that's SO beautiful! I love mountainous, forested regions. Germany has definitely been on the top of my travel list for quite some time. |

Those are some great pictures guys! I really love mountains too. We used to go to Colorado when I was a little kid. Must be probably - Oh I don't know, 40 yrs ago (oooo! big gasp - am I that old already?) Anyway, I remember when I saw the mountains for the first time when we were driving down the highway and they just seemed to pop up out of the ground all of a sudden. It was fantastic! |

well now thats real MacGyver country isn't it. |
Posted by: MacsChick 15 December 2007 - 05:49 PM |
Why do you think I live in Colorado? |
Posted by: MacGyverGrrl 15 December 2007 - 09:09 PM |
Well Utah is only a stone's throw away...........and its where the pilot was filmed. Rocky, that is an amazing shot of the Capital building. I grew up near there and it still amazes me how beautiful and impressive that building is. Too bad the business conducted within doesn't always do it justice. Astra, my husband has been to Bavaria. Its gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your photos. |

I have to admit, those pictures were not made by me but by a friend. I don't own a digital camera so always need to scan my own pictures first, and they did not turn out very well. |

Still, you made an effort! |
Posted by: Victoria_Rose 17 December 2007 - 05:16 PM |
Oh, I don't know, MacsChick, might have been the Rocky Mountains hint in your location. Was I wrong? Vickie Rose |

Nope. |

I thought I'd repost my MacGyver location shots I took in September So here they are again, but this time in all their glory! I took this pic up the street from Mac's season one beach apartment. You can just see the round balconies on the other side of the tan building. I was too cheap to pay the $7 parking fee, and the closeest street parking was closed for construction. I'd already done way too much walking for my poor old arthritic knees, so didn't get a pic from the front. Then I was across the street from his season seven loft. As well as up the street from it. And I also went in the hardware store under Mac's season two apartment, where I bought a roll of duct tape. When I asked an employee if she knew MacGyver used to live upstairs, she said "no wonder people are always taking pictures of the store." LOL Thanks to Kate at rdanderson.com for mapping them so Mac fans can make pilgrimages. banlu |

Wow! That's amazing that they're still standing (unlike the house boat). Excellent work! |

Various photos from my North Carolina Deals Gap motorcycle rally. My bike is the greyish one with the red wind screen that says suzuki. Oh yea and I got a photo of Mac leaning on my bike. Thank you photo shop. Sorry the pictures are all jumbled. My girfriend took most of the pictures. I am the one wearing the hat. Also the photos of the nuclear reactors are from Three Mile Island and were taken from a boat launch in Pennsyvania where I live. Anyone up for stealing some uranium? lol. |

My kids found a StarGate. And then they worked out how to make it go! |
Posted by: MacGyverGrrl 23 April 2008 - 07:32 PM |
Now that is freakin' COOL! Where is it? And where did they go? |
Posted by: MacBeth 24 April 2008 - 04:40 PM |
And did they ever come back? Man, talk about being late for lunch. |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 24 April 2008 - 04:54 PM |
It's located at 37°23'14.78"S - 175°50'16.07"E which is an open face gold mine.. I guess they found it while digging. Don't know where it went.. we just stood and threw some stones and rocks into it. |

A real Stargate... that's precious! "Billy, stop pushing your sister through the Event Horizon! I mean it... don't make me say 'Kree!' again!" |

Nice gate! Apparently there are several stargates in Germany as well. I've never seen one for myself, but there once was a competition and these are some of the gates that got sent in (none of these pictures are mine) |
Posted by: Astra 4 May 2008 - 10:29 PM |
I also like the names they gave a few of them. Like "Golden Gate" or the last one would be "Water-Gate". And sheesh, how could I forget to post the "MacGyver-Gate"!!!!!!! It really looks as if Mac welded it together with things from the scrapyard |

Awesome "Stargate" pictures |
Posted by: Astra 4 September 2008 - 02:04 PM |
While driving through Vancouver we found a lot of MacGyver- and also Stargate-related street signs and other things, which I am going to post in this thread once in a while. Hope you have as much fun as we had discovering all these. Mac has a restaurant: and a shop: and a car number plate: and Rocky has a café: Bruce McGill even has his own street: This reminded me at an episode: And two times I fotographed a jeep, one was parking, the other driving by. I have no knowledge of cars and so I don't know whether it is the right one or not, but looked close enough to me: |
Posted by: MacsChick 4 September 2008 - 05:00 PM |
Mmmm...a jeep! *drools* Awesome pictures, Astra! It's nice to see a little bit of Mac survives everywhere if you're willing to look for him. |

Sorry, no MacGyver location in this post, but maybe somebody is still interested. Now you have to be very strong,, though, because in TV everything indeed looks much bigger. This is how Jacks fishing hut looks in real life and also Jack looks older without make-up... At the left side you can see the "no fishing" sign We are also the first people ever that were able to see the backside of the cabin, since this is private property and nobody is allowed to go there: |
Posted by: Astra 14 September 2008 - 12:24 AM |
Well, aparently my joke fell flat, nobody laughed, but I want at least to post the real pictures so that you not believe this was indeed Jack's cabin. Guess I better stick with MacGyver-shots from now on. So here's the real thing (but the pond was indeed smaller than I thought): And I also filmed a little scene: http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q227/DieAstra/Gatecon-lustige%20Bilder/Gatecon%20Locations/?action=view¤t=P8290499.flv |

Oooo! I SO want to live there (or Mac's houseboat). Nice! |

Here's a few pictures I took during my recent vacation. A view of the Stillaguamish River on Mountain Loop Highway, on the way to Vancouver from Seattle: ... and another view, just down the road... A little waterfall... almost got past us! A really awesome mural we saw in Vancouver: Gastown Steam Clock... (might look a bit familiar from later season intros for MacGyver) |

What beautiful Pics, Lothi! Thankyou for sharing! (I stole the first pic to use as a desktop pic on my computer! I love nature pics, especialy waterfalls and rivers.) |
Posted by: Kyrian 8 October 2008 - 04:53 AM |
Astra, I love the pics of the cabin! I would love to live in a cabin too (as long as it had indoor plumbing, a bathroom and heating and air conditioning...)Okay, so Im spoiled (rotten) I live about 2 miles from town, but the area has lots of trees and fields and few houses, so it looks like I live out in the middle of nowhere. I love it. All I can hear is the noise we make, birds, crickets and the wind in the pine trees. Its very peaceful. When I go shopping and such, I often cant believe the NOISE people make. I was born and lived in Chicago for many years and got un-used to all the traffic and noise, I guess. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics! |
Posted by: Lothithil 8 October 2008 - 08:59 PM | ||
You are most welcome, Kyrian! I am very glad that like the picture enough to adopt it! It is impossible to take a bad picture of any scene in the Mountain Loop... even my out- of- focus- shots of the trees look like magical abstract art! |

Here are some pics from my trip to New Hampshire (i actually went last year but i didnt know that we had a gallery ) ahhh skiing in the snow, nothing can get much better than that!! there were soooo many really long icicles like everywhere, these were the longest that i got a pic of and now my absolute favorite picture!! my family and I were driving home when we went past this little waterfall and I practically jumped out of the car. My dad had to put the car into reverse and drive back like 300 feet on a two lane road just so i could take a picture of this. But i got it |
Posted by: Astra 17 October 2008 - 02:48 AM |
That last picture is truly very amazing! Wonderful shot, with the lighting, and you almost can feel the water splashing at you. |
