Did Mac and Pete T ever argue? NB. I'm still working through all the episodes.

I wouldn't say argue, but they had heated disagreements! I'm still working my way thru, too. I'm on the Youtube plan biggrin.gif

They did have an argument in the beginning of Serenity. But it was more out of frustration than anger. How far along are you guys?

I reckon I must be a couple of series in. However, I think they have all been shown on UK TV. My box has recorded them, but I am short of viewing time and no end of the final moments have been missed by the series record - the DVD's are due for delivery any day now :-D

Getting into Season 2 right now. I love watching them, and get an even bigger kick out of the fun my boys have watching them with me! Waaaay back when ABC aired them, I couldn't get ABC thru my television. I tried MacGyvering the aerial but it just didn't work, so I'm playing catch-up.

Hi Barry, I picked up my set on ebay, apparently only lightly played so I took a chance on a Buy It Now. Just watched the first three, they are excellent - to go with the new TV I bought a matched DVD HD/Blue Ray player. We had only been watching the black box recorded ones previously, but I was halfway through when one of the kids walked in and didn't know what signal I was watching (they didn't know I had them on order or that anything had arrived). Child took one look at the TV and without hesitation announced - how come that's in HD? I had already though how much better the quality of the recordings were than the TV broadcast, that comment absolutely confirmed it. Actually the discs are not really HD (the box doesn't say so), but the quality is miles better than the TV.biggrin.gif

I've got to try that. I've a lead from the local library on some loaners from another library, but I want my own to enjoy at our leisure. Both my sons, ages 18 and 9, really enjoy Mac, and I think there's a lot to learn from the show. My oldest and I have a modest collection of SAK's and try to outdo one another in new, creative ways in using them! I have never used Blue Ray but have heard awesome things about the quality....I'd like to spring the surprise on them like you did!

When Joanne is wondering what MacG.gif is going to make out of her hair pins, ribbon, glasses and buttons ... biggrin.gif

And then when he rescues her and she says his name twice. The first "MacGyver" being one of surprise and relief, the next one ... well, I think that he should probably hang on to that white suit for a while. Or get a similar one.

"The woman really irritated me--she was like an annoying little kid! But I do like her reaction to MacGyver's white suit, the way she says, "MacGyver?" with a questioning, disgusted voice!"

I heard it differently. I thought the first time she said it was questioning and the second time she was clearly saying he should dress like that more often. I don't know why he threw away the hat, as Joanne clearly liked it ...

What annoyed me was the way Mac and Pete were all "you can't do this, it's for your own good". I assume because the writer found it more convenient for her to be kidnapped than to take an active part in the proceedings. But she wasn't scared or inept, so I found their patronising attitude to her rather baffling. If they had made a habit of it, I'd be really pissed off. Normally, if a woman says she knows it will be dangerous, Mac just accepts it.

As he did with Spencer in the very first episode.

Like in the episode when Tommy Giordano got kidnapped and Mac told Tommy's mum (Mary-Ruth?) that she had to find a way to distract the bad guys.

In the episode where Mac dresses as a priest, he doesn't even warn the supposed call girl (who is out to avenge her sister's murder) that the assignment will be dangerous.

So the way Joanne is told that she can't take part in the sting because she needs to be protected is not only irritating but also out of character for Mac.
