I was not a fan of Nancy Kiu's writing. More than once I wondered if she knew the show's title. I wish her well but I'm not sorry if she leaves.
I'm not sure if she's leaving, though.
I just saw that she tweeted about "Batwoman" coming to CW this Fall and that people congratulated her.
I assume people don't stay on 2 different writings teams during the same season, so I guess if she has a writing gig on a new show, she won't stay on the Reboot. Though of course, it's possible that they can still use one of her scripts for an episode. Season 3 had scripts from writers that only wrote a single episode and weren't part of the main writing team. Also possible that she gets a writing credit if they use one of her storylines from another season... or one of her characters? I'm not sure how that works.
Wasn't she listed as a producer on MacGyver as well? They didn't announce anything, but I guess that means that one of the other writers will be a producer or they'll add someone else.
So we have a new Co-Showrunner, new producers and different writers. The show will definitely be retooled a bit and go in a different direction. Curious how much it will change... There were already so many changes in the cast, I'm not sure if another creative direction on top of that will help the ratings. It could be a good thing, but also make it even worse

I wonder how much studio heads interfere. It makes me feel that they wanted to follow every other procedural. The more cast members the better, like they have a set number. Was Cage necessary? No. Was Leanna necessary? No. Bozer a field agent? No. He belongs in the lab. and how did he become Sparky's programmer? They need to concentrate on Mac and his skills.

According to Lenkov's Insta stories, they're having production meetings for Magnum today. I'm a bit jealous dry.gif
Lenkov rarely mentioned MacGyver during the full season. If he mentions it at all this season I'll be surprised. and then he objects to Mac fans calling him on his preference. I may be wrong but that's the impression I got from the few times I checked his twitter.
As you can see, CBS lost the most. And it will probably drop even more because TBBT is missing this upcoming TV Fall Season and the new shows don't make as big of a splash on social media as MacGyver or Magnum did. They have several mediocre-rated shows on TV this Fall, so they're tolerating shows to drop lower in ratings than they used to...

I was surprised when I saw the headline actually, surprised her place was even in question lol. They can't afford anymore Regular cast changes right now.

I never questioned it either, but it seems they do press releases with regular cast changes. They had one for Meredith joining/Sandrine leaving and one for George leaving, so I guess that makes sense.
I think Isabel was the only exception unless she was paid as recurring, despite being in every episode for half a season.
They didn't have articles for the recurrings on the "big" pages (e.g. Deadline, Variety, Hollywood Reporter), although they had articles on smaller sites. Reign joining as recurring had been reported by some soap opera newssites (due to her being a longterm regular for "Bold and Beautiful") and I remember David being the new Murdoc or Tate as James having an article on TV Line.

Yes she has
Quite a few, actually. Eight episodes if I remember correctly, although she didn't get too much screentime after 3x03. Which is why I'm bothered about her sudden disappearence.
I also just realized... with only 13 episodes, there won't be a midseason plot twist? They also can't do any Halloween or Christmas episode since they don't even know yet when the show will have its premiere.
On the other hand, they didn't do a Christmas episode this season... which I thought was a bit strange. But the show was off air for a month after December 7, so maybe they had been warned.

Production dates for MacGyver and the new CSB Friday Shows (via @SpoilerTV).
No dates yet for Magnum, but the production dates for H50 and BB shows that they got full season orders. March for H50 seems a bit short though. I guess they got the "normal" order for 22 episodes for now (since S5, they usually end up doing 25).

hellofromlevy My love. I am so thrilled to be sharing this Across the country road trip with you. Life is so unexpected. I never expected to love another creature as much as I love you. I’d never expect I’d be living in LA and auditioning for tv shows and movies. I never expected I’d be moving across country to be working on a TV show. I’d never expect I’d leave San Jose. And although I miss San Jose and my family and friends, I’m so happy I braved a new world. Doing something I was afraid of. At the age I did it at. Just goes to show, YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO START SOMETHING NEW. I am such a firm believer in doing something that brings you joy. Go do something that gets you up in the morning. And you are never too old and it is never too late to pursue something new and do not get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed being an embalmer, but I felt like I wanted to try something new and adventurous and unpredictable. As my supervisor said to me, “Levy, you work with death everyday. Go live life and if it doesn’t work out, then you come back” so I left. And I don’t regret one moment of it. @kat_tran and Abby, thank you for coming with me so @carlos_the_basset and I wouldn’t be driving alone across country. ❤️
Levy seems so nice and deserving, from humble beginnings and so full of life and hungry for anything (an embalmer ). She def has my eyes and attention from the show.
