Yeah a team up of the two would have been pretty cool, although may have been a bit to dark/scary at that time.

After watching tonight's episode of MacGyver and reading up a bit more on the Zodiac Killer and how he left notes and clues it's occurred it to me that Zito could have been based on this killer.
