I don't know how accurate this information is anymore, it's been around for a few years now, but I would think it's still worth posting.



If you woke up this morning with more health than illness... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.

If you can read this message you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Thanks for posting this, Rocky. It's good to get perspective every once in a while. And yes, I'm truly blessed since my parents are alive, my pesky sibblings are well and I got food in my table and a roof over my bed and... several cats. There's no way we're not blessed if we can even afford SEVERAL pets, right? Thanks!

Not to mention the fact that if you're reading this, you obviously have a computer, which means in turn you have electricity, a phone line,internet connection.

Even in this age of the internet and connectivity, computers, internet, mobile phones, etc are still luxuries. You can live without them. They make life more interesting, but you don't NEED them live like you do water, food and warmth.

So anyone who is readying this post on this site and isn't gravely ill, doesn't have too much to complain about in the overall scheme of things.

Even if your having trouble paying bills, think of yourself as lucky to be able to have those bills to pay in the first place, because many people don't and wont ever have the chance to pay to have electricity or running water and gas piped to heir house; Let-alone cable TV, or phone and internet.

We're really not as bad of as we think.

I definitely agree.
I can't stand when people complain about little inconveniences in their lives when there are others out there who would kill to even have a small portion of their good fortune.
Thanks Rocky for reminding us of that.
