Right, a lot of us like getting lost in the woods once and a while, so why not share exactly where. Want to go on a vacation, but don't know wehere?? You might find something here!!!

For instance, right where I live. Plenty of forest to get lost in, but nice in spring, not too hot thanks to a river. Scenic spots and plenty of spaces for a picnic. Only problem is that's in Madrid, kinda far for some people. dry.gif

In my oppinion, Graham Bell has a lot to answer for. It gets harder and harder to escape from the world, the news and worst of all, people.

Okay... it might be a little far out, but I'd suggest Iceland for a vacation. (during summer) Such a versatile country! I absolutely loved it.

Northeastern Minnesota, near Lake Superior, is FANTASTIC hiking and camping country! Highway 61 runs up the shore, from Duluth to the Canadian border, and there are plenty of trails that start at the highway and go up into the woods. You can spend hours or even days or weeks hiking them. In fact, the Superior Hiking Trail starts at Duluth and goes all the way to the Canadian border. And did I mention it's some of the most gorgeous country you'll ever see?

I have to agree macgirl. I am going snowshoeing up there in 2 weeks. It's a great place for hiking any time of the year. The upper peninsula of Michigan also has some great areas for hiking and the shoreline on Lake Superior is sandy in spots, instead of the rock cliffs on the Minnesota side. Highly recommend the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan.

However, if you want hiking in a warmer climate for the winter months, I highly recommend Tucson, AZ and Sedona, AZ. Both cities have some beautfiul canyons for hiking and enjoying the desert scenery.
