I found a listing on Amazon.com for Pandora's Clock last night, which is being released by a Canadian company called Peace Arch or kaBoom! Entertainment.

I thought I would pass this along for those who haven't seen the Amazon listing.

I'm glad that they are finally releasing this movie 'officially'. The copy I have was made in China, I think!

It will be nice to have one of good quality *hopes*

Ooo... I preordered it right away as soon as this was announced. Good price too. $9.99 US.

My copy is from a friend who took the time to edit the commercials out, but it will be nice to have a brandy-new and shiny DVD.

Now if they'd release Legend, I'd be VERY happy!

Honestly, I thought this would never get released. It sure took a long time.

Yeah, I would hope there won't be any problems in this department, and that the mini-series will be presented as it was on NBC.

I haven't given up on the two made-for-TV movies for "MacGyver" and I hope they'll release them separately, but I hope we'll see "Legend" at some point.

I know folks have tried Internet petitions... they don't work. Hand written letters to TPTB usually gets some attention, but UPN is no longer UPN (CW?) so I don't know who to write to!

CBS/Paramount also owns "Legend", so they would be the ones to write to. And I haven't e-mailed the CBS store for "Legend" yet.

And here's another thought: if the company that's releasing "Pandora's Clock" to DVD finds that there's a strong interest and good sales, that will demonstrate that there might be plenty of demand for similar releases. Money talks!

It is listed on Amazon with a running time of 178 minutes, which means that it is probably the full 3-hour version.
I think the version on those Asian bootleg DVD/VCDs was a shorter, edited version (only 2 hour 20 minutes).

I remember when this came out on TV, but for some reason I didn't watch it. Hmm...I might just have to get it at some point (in the MOL store, of course. )

I have it on my DVR, but as soon as I heard it was on DVD, I ran to pre-order it. (Ships 15 Feb, 2008) I said that already before, didn't I?

So, all this time I've been watching a cut down version? I thought it was one of those "movie-of-the-week" events (that the networks don't show anymore...)

It originally aired as a 2-part miniseries on NBC in 1996.
Each part was around 90 minutes - so the total length was 3 hours.

The miniseries was later edited into a 2 hour 20 minute movie, for international TV distribution and as a video rental release.
I don't know which version that's been shown in later US re-runs.

Did anyone end up receiving their copies? I was planning on ordering mine that week, but Amazon quickly changed the availability of it. Now, apparently it's out of print.

I pre-ordered it, but was sent the message that it was unavailable. I don't think that they actually distributed any.

I guess I'll just have to be happy with my Chinese copy... sound lines, hard edits, wonky volume and all.

I am curious, not that I would have ordered Pandora's Box DVD anyway, but who made the DVD and was it legial. In other words did the company have legal permission from Paramount to release the DVD.

Did anyone get the DVD? The only one I had heard was available was Asian made and had subtitles.

Well is was sold through Amazon.com so I don't think it could have been a pirate copy, because they only sell from studio distributors.

But it is possible that some kind of legal production issue has caused the product to be withdrawn.

Frustrating. There were at least 50-60 people (that I know of) that pre-ordered it.

I'd LIKE to see the original! I've only seen the cut-down version.

When will this come out? I have waited for so long, it's så frustrating!

Finally, but I'll have to order it next month along with a few other movies.

I just wish they would do the other ones, so i don't have to wait for it to come on LMN.
