I wouldn't want to watch it alone in the dark.....for some reason it gave me the creeps! I was cheering when Mac put the hurting to that character tho! For a guy in a costume, he sure seemed to pack a punch!

I just love to watch these episodes in the dark. Mac creeping around on the ship with no dialogue, all alone. Would you board the ship, when you see it not knowing what's there?
That dude in the costume is Ken Kirzinger. He also shows up as one of Ralph Jerico's bodyguards in Jerico Games. This guy is a stuntman and has done a whole lot of films. He's done a lot of horrorfilms. Appears in Friday the 13th part VIII, Freddy vs. Jason as Jason and fighting with Robert Englund as Freddy and Wrong Turn part 2 as the dad cannibal. He is about 6' 5".
So yeah I think this guy can take a punch or two.

A somewhat interesting episode, for me because of the gorgeous location and the mistery of the deserted ship. The bigfoot is a bit silly and doesn't add much to the story. A religious cult based on the woods or just pirates would've been more intriguing.

BC's diverse landscape is probably the biggest drawing card for myself and in the original series. You gotta be able to want to step through your tv screen and into an episode - that's a top stipulation for truly compelling film.
No, Bigfoot didn't 'have to' to be in it but that legend has always been trendy(especially in the '70s/'80s) and is sure to bump ratings a point or two just on it's own inclusion.

True . Going to Canada from season 3 onwards was a great improvement and is really part of the spirit of MacGyver,I think. This country has enormous potential and is superb. Why did they come back to LA in season 7 ? Big mistake .

I delivered newspapers in the very early morning hours as a teenager, when the Bigfoot hype was reaching its peak. My imagination would go crazy, and all I could picture is that old 8mm film of Bigfoot walking across that rocky field. Scared the daylights out of me!!

Forgot the 'official' (press release) reason they gave but those moves are almost always about the US-Canada dollar exchange rate. A quick check verifies the Loonie was on a rally against the Greenback and peaked in '91 @ 0.872637. I think there's a cutoff value in the exchange rate that puts all the travel/hotel/shipping/bills etc. past the tipping point for the money saved doing business in Canada. You can bet if the rate was @ 0.80000000 then the last season would have been in BC, as well!

Of course, you do know now that Bigfoot is not real.
Don't you?

Yeah, I have to agree there too!
I always felt that the move to Vancouver was perfect for the feel of the show. The first two seasons seems to be too... dry looking, I guess? I dunno, it had some weird "brown" look to it. Vancouver seemed to have more color and life to it.
Some day, I'd like to go to Vancouver and get a picture of me at the Cube Building just so I can say I was at Phoenix. lol

I know from my acting class, you can't give up too much in the rehearsal because for the reaction of the actor to be real - totally surprised... you HAVE to be really, totally surprised.
This statement reminds me of something I read about the X-Files first movie. I don't remember the details, but it had Mulder and Scully escaping in a car just as a building exploded. I remember reading that one of them (Forget which) didn't want to do a "live" rehearsal because they wanted their reactions to the exploding building/rocking car to be genuine.

Seen this one a few times, and rewatching it now - I totally read this thread about the arm coming through the window right before it happened and I still jumped!
I love this episode, it's ridiculous - but so entertaining. Also Mac seems truly stumped by Bigfoot most of the episode which is entertaining lol. Love the scenery - can't wait for this one in HD!
