Airdate: Apr. 6, 2018 Story: Andrew Klein Teleplay: Andrew Karlsruher Director:Sharat Raju Guest Cast:Amy Smart (Dawn) , Greg Alan Williams (Julian Halsey) , Kenneth Trujillo (Agent Alvarez) Allie McColloch (Caroline Grant) , Ashton Leigh (Assistant) , Cory Scott Allen (Leon) , Kate Bond (Jill) Megan McFarland (Sonia) , Ricky Catter (Peruvian Cop)
As Mac and the team investigate the suspicious death of Dawn’s (Amy Smart) CIA supervisor, the evidence leads to a dirty CIA agent and a massive counterfeiting ring.
Yes it was really nice to see that Matty can actually "Walk the walk" instead of just dishing out orders... although I have to say seeing her in the field and how much she stands out (due to her height) does make the premise of her being a top CIA agent rather laughable... but suspension of disbelief and all that...

I really liked the old-school-MacGyver-like ending and the Opening Gambit. Otherwise, I didn't really get into this episode that much - although I was happy to see Dawn back.
Clearly a filler episode - they can be good, but I really think they should start tying up the loose ends instead of dumping them all into the Season Finale Episode.
Also, not enough Mac for my taste . I don't care about Matty that much... still miffed about Thornton *LMAO*. At the moment, I'm just here for Mac (and Jack)

I saw someone else mention that it's nice that Mac's idea to stick that thing onto the car never worked out. It proves that he's not omnipotent. They're right.

I forgot to comment on this one, probably because I lost interest in the episode about halfway through and started doing other things while it was on. Definitely not one of my favorite episodes. I don't even really know why I disliked it, it just didn't hold my interest at all.

I don't dislike it, but somehow I didn't "connect" to it. Forgot pretty much everything besides the Opening Gambit; yet don't feel the need to watch it again (like it sometimes happen with other episodes).

This was a good and fun episode. While clearly CGI, that was like the best opening gambit, I've ever seen. Laying down on a trampoline filled with balloons. You might wonder where they got them. And shouldn't they have been strapped to the trampoline? Anyhoo, that was a nice opening gambit.

Yeah, about that... that was like. Did I miss something? I thought the car just took off before Mac had the chance to stick it to it. Like he was late and said: didn't work.
And was it me or is the CIA building right across the street from Phoenix? I thought I saw the Phoenix building when Mac threw the computer out.
Besides the CIA-director somehow reminded me of Dana Elcar. For some reason I thought, if he was still alive, he should've played that role.
It's also nice to see Matty calming down a bit. I didn't mind she called Jill "specs" this time. I don't mind nicknames if they're not condescending. Jill also seems to have a big job description or did she make promotion? From assistant to lab technician?
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
