If you were to write your own clipshow, how would you pick the clips out and place them in the story? Because they are you favorites? Because it's so MacGyver?

I just came up with this after I read some reviews on Hind-Sight here. Mostly figure it was a bad episode with bad choosen clips.

Friends was because Mac was going to retire. So it seemed like a good reason to look back on some old adventures to figure out for who and for what and why he was doing the things he did.

Unfinished Business started as a look back on the Mac-Jack-Pete relationship and than on who their follower might be.

Hind-Sight was more focussed on Mac-Pete things and Mac trying to encourage Pete in his operation. No matter what they went through they always survived.

So if you were to write a clipshow which clips would you take and for what reason?

Interesting question. And quite a challenge. Give me some time, and I'll try to come up with something.

I actually think the friends idea of having some sort of party where all the people he's met or helped turn up is the best idea because it presents the most options and reasons for MacGyver to flashback.

So that would be the storyline I'd go with. The next question is which season to do it in because I think there are far too many scenes from the whole series to use in just one episode.

Well it's not been said you have to use all of them. In Friends all the flashbacks came from season 1.

In Hind-Sight it was season 4 and 5. Going further back seemed like: 'nah, too long ago.'

Maybe there were still some moments in season 3 that could've been used like flashing back on Kill Zone for instance. It was a very Phoenix oriented episode and a good Mac-Pete episode.

I would make a clip show out of the clip shows!

No, perhaps all the interactions with the Coltons, or the episodes with the Woodmans.

Maybe a clip show of all the failed Macgyverisms? Or all the times MacGyver got shot?

I actually wrote a clipshow once in my first story. I don't even know why? It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Mac got married with Maria Romburg ( ) and ends up telling stories about each time he got injured. And than I tried to give an as a right as possible description of the scenes as if it was a real flashback.

This is however written like 8 years ago.

LOL! It may just be me, but I have the hardest time seeing Mac being married to Maria. XD

ANYWAY, a clip show??? Wow... well, I don't have a capture device, otherwise I had wanted to do a music video about his interaction and relationships with others. Basically a clip show to music instead of an actual episode. There's a song called If I Lost You by Shiny Toys Guns, which makes me think of MacGyver a lot, actually. Mostly from his perspective. So, as the song goes, there would be various scenes of his those he cares about. I would use scenes between him and Pete, him and Jack, him and Penny, him and Harry... etc, etc, etc... I was going to throw in other scenes of like minor characters that he developed relationships with... like Booker and Cynthia, Violet, Jennifer, Lisa (from Nightmares) and Kate (from Ugly Duckling). I think you get the idea. You'd be surprised what you can fit into a 4 minutes song including Intro and Credits. XD

At some point in the future, I'd like to do this and see how it turns out. I'm hoping by then the show will be released in HD, if that ever happens.
