Posted by: Jediferret 17 November 2015 - 05:20 AM
I got a message this morning from a member over at RDAnderson.com that Richard has hurt his back and is in a lot of pain. They are collecting Get Well/Thinking of You cards to send to the site's Admin, Kate Ritter, who will send them to Richard.

I was asked to let you guys know if anyone wants to participate or help. You can go to this thread for more information.

That is sad news. Thanks for the heads up Jedi.

Bad news indeed. I hope he gets better soon.

Man, I can't believe the ongoing issues with his back. Hope he gets it fixed once and for all and avoids the quick fix & more dangerous remedy of rest, time & pain killers. The LA area has some of the best experts in spinal surgery in the world. Gretzky's well documented disc issues, as well as several other athletes spine problems have been solved in So. Cal. very efficiently & effectively. WatkinsSpine.com is world renowned.

He's had spinal surgery to fix the damage years ago, but has continues to have what I think is "tissue trauma issues" with it ever since.

Well, he's absolutely situated in the right part of the world to have this issue re-assessed
and put to rest. Best of luck to him!

Back issues are the worst. My father had them for 30 years. Till he found the right doctor. I had them too but thankfully seem to be okay nowadays.

Richard Dean Anderson is experiencing severe debilitating back pain. He also has just recently lost his precious dog Daisy.

There is an effort underway to send cards expressing love and encouragement to RDA organized by rdanderson.com.

You can read about it on the front page of the website under:

What's New. November 17, 2015...Updates....."Get Well Cards".

Also, a direct link to a message that explains everything is at

We are four people "point of collection" of cards.
You will can send your cards directly to us, and we organize the transfert to Los Angeles (thanks to Kate R. who manages the official website).

Thank you to join us in this project...

I wonder if we could send a card as a group from this site? I don't know if these online card places will send them overseas, but we could maybe have a look?

When Mac2Nite mentioned it, I was thinking that if a lot of people were really interested, I could try to design one in Publisher, print it at work and send it to bftlovesRDA. It won't be Hallmark or anything, but if someone wants to work with me on the design (like giving input, giving me a thumbs up on the design, etc. etc.), I can see what I can come up with. Of course, I'll post the design for everyone's input before I send it out.

I'm okay with this because I actually can't send RDA a card right now because I'm out of a vehicle. I'll have to either make something myself or write a letter. I just haven't had the time to do it this week because I was REALLY busy at work.

If I can get the design done this weekend, I can have it ready and out by Monday or Tuesday.

So, anyone else up for this or want to help me?

Sounds good to me, I think it would be nice if we could do something as a group of mac fans. smile.gif Moonpig.com also will send internationally, I checked, so doing one from them, adding members names etc online and so on, is another option if you can't do it. smile.gif

Hello, all! It's been a while since I've been on. Hope all is well with everyone. I will be sending Rick a card and will make sure to let him know about all the great people on this site that have been thinking of him.

I've stopped by here and there but haven't posted in a while. It's great to be back! Thanks!

Welcome back Mat! smile.gif

I didn't make the card, obviously. There just wasn't enough interest to warrant the time and effort. Sorry guys...
