i included it as a nitpick becuase usually when one leaves their house for an extended period of time, or some one elses house, in this case a handicapped old woman in an extremly high crime area one usually wouldnt leave your front door wide open. seemed way out of character, dangerous and rude for macgyver

Nitpicks are technical mistakes and errors in production and storyline, generally "out of character "isn't a nitpick.

We need to ensure that we are getting genuine production nitpicks here.

One problem I had with this was the time frame. If anyone has followed a trial, there is an extended period of time between arrest and jury trial. Like months if not longer. There is no way that gun should still be there, readily visible, the street light still broken, etc. At the same time, there wouldn't have been a story without it.

Well, in my timeline, I placed the murder incident in March 1990. The exact date is indeed unspecified but don't forget things were kinda sensitive and um... rushed to judgement. I think the idea of having the murder set in a dangerous area sort of justifies the facts that no one seemed eager to fix that street light any time soon, let alone that someone would bother to look in the drain to see a readily visible gun. That also shows what kind of joke the investigation must've been. The gun was right under their noses and as Belinda Jones said they didn't want to bother to listen to what she had to say. It's failure of the system and Mac's there to set it straight.

Very true. But that brings up another problem for me...if it's such a dangerous neighborhood, why are the streets completely empty when Mac and then Mac and Pete go there? I live in a fairly large city and our "dangerous areas" are dangerous because there are gangs, etc. hanging out especially at night.

Because you don't mess with Mac and Pete.

Just because that street was empty won't mean nobody is hiding in dark alleys waiting to strike. Or maybe it was because of the murder even the gangs stayed away from that street for a while until things cooled down a bit.

I have owned several soda machines and I can tell you that there is no lever that you can pull inside to make the machine randomly spit out sodas like he did.
