MacGyver pulls a hot tray off food out of the oven then les than a minute later slowly removes the lid with his bare hands. (the lid should still be too hot to handle)

When MacGyver gets a pillow for Pete the plates on the table are empty.
Pete says that he cannot eat the tofu casserole. After they "agree" on Chinese you can see the plates again and there is food on them already.

Sounds like another editing continuity problem...

Pete turns up his nose at Mac's tofu casserole, claiming he won't eat however many beans that have pounded beyond recognition (paraphrsing here ), even though he claimed to love the "whipped bean curd" in a previous episode.

Maybe he just likes his bean curd cold???

I was surprised a little generally by this episode because I never imagined Pete to be so demanding and picky.

At about 11 or 12 minutes in, the older guy in the car is complaining about the weather, etc. But in every scene showing that car in the parking lot, all the windows are down!

If you're cold, put up the windows and crank the heat

Yea no kidding. I live in the north and I HATE the cold, therefore my windows are tightly closed and the heater is as high as it will go.

I noticed as well that when Mac is in the hole he has a bloddy wound on his forehead yet after they get him out there is no boo boo.

It surprised me too that Pete was the way he was in this ep. He had not been that way before or after.

If I remember correctly, Pete helped himself to the whipped bean curd without knowing what it was first. I'm sure a lot of us have tasted, and liked, food before we found out what it really was. In this episode, Mac tells him ahead of time that it's tofu casserole so Pete has a negative opinion of it simply due to the name, if that makes sense.

Also, maybe more an observation that a nit-pick....When Mac was buried by the avalanche, I thought it was quite a coincidence that he just happened to use the ski pole that did NOT contain the microfilm....but I guess he had a 50/50 chance!

The term Fuddy-Duddy comes to mind for Pete. Re: an old fashioned, fussy, stuck in their ways type.

I know! Since finding this site I've been trying my hand at some MacGyver fan fiction and coincidences and "time-hops" are becoming my best friends! LOL

When Pete and Mac are sitting down to lunch, Pete asks Mac if he had ever broken any bones. Pete would have known about Mac breaking his hand skiing before meeting Penny in Bulgaria in "Every Time She Smiles"as well as the same hand being broken when he crashed his homemade hang glider on assignment for Pete in "To Be A Man".
