If you had the chance to ask RDA a question, what would it be?

Hmmm. Good question.

If I had the chance to talk to RDA, I wouldn't want to ask a question at all -- the most important thing, for me, would not be to ask for something from him: it would be to offer something to him. What I would most want to tell him would be about how much I value his work, and especially how much I value the memories of my own father's joy in the show.

So. What question would I ask, given the opportunity . . . "Your place or mine?" really doesn't work, so we'll go with "Can I buy you a drink? Or a slice of blueberry pie?"

Or fresh or frozen blueberries?

Remember, lots of blueberries here in Maine...

Well, he said he liked both, but we know fresh is better. Maybe homemade blueberry ice cream?

Asking a question, I probably wouldn't. I haven seen the show so many times from beginning to end that I got the feeling that I know him my whole life. So buying him a drink is one thing, but I'd rather go up to him and have a talk.

"Can I buy you a drink?" is a standard way of asking, on one level, for a chance to go off, sit down and talk. It provides an icebreaker. (Mac's offer to Deborah of coffee was along the same lines.) It has other implications, too, or course.

The only thing I could think of to ask RDA when I met him is 'Is my tongue hanging out?"

Luckily, I did not vocalize this question aloud.

"Do you enjoy being known as 'The Master Of The Mullet'"?

lol poor guy, he was the only few people who pulled it off nicely.

lets see what would i ask him.. "How is life treating you since you left Stargate."

For that matter, the question I did ask him was answered quite satisfactorily -- I can even make a recomendation: ask a question that doesn't have a simple yes or no answer, but instead gives him an opportunity to ramble on cheerfully. You can really get the most out of your one question that way!

If I could only ask him one question it would be "Could you sign this?".

well, I often wondered if he does not get annoyed to be refereed to as MacGyver after all these years, like he's done nothing else, like people expect him to be as MacGyver: keeping the sporty look he had then, been able to fix anything himself when his car breaks down, and so on...

I know that even though I love MacGyverI would get quite pissed off if I had to walk back a crystallized character for 30 years like that...

I may have the chance in a couple of weeks, but I just can't think of anything that won't have already been asked. I'm quite sure he'd prefer something original rather than Mac or Stargate centered. But what? I'm going to have trouble putting a coherent sentence together as it is...

I shall try and ask at least one for you, if I get an autograph ticket or close enough at the stage talk! I'm not sure they'll have time for questions at the photo op, as if its like other cons I've done, they hustle you in like sheep lol! This is my first REALLY big convention, so I'm not sure what to expect at all!

He's such a huge draw card, it really is walk in, take photo, walk out - repeat until finished.
