Persis Khambatta played the mother in "To Be A Man".

She also played Lieutenant Ilia, the bald Deltan alien in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979).

Sadly she died of heart attack in 1998 aged 49.

I didn't know she was in the Motion Picture, but I haven't watched it in a long time. It just recently popped up on Netflix, and I've been meaning to watch it.

Sad that she passed away at such a young age though.
