| So I've been playing these 3ds games, Tomodachi Life and Miitopia. For those who don't know, ( which is probably everyone except me) both these games involve creating characters, giving them distinct personalities, and watching them interact. Kinda like a juvenile Sims game. Of course, it's a given that players will try to incorporate characters from their favorite movies, tv shows, and books, and I'm no different. As you can probably guess, I created different MacGyver characters in both games, and wanted to share some pictures and stories about them. I can only share certain photos, and only one per post, so I'll try to be picky so I don't clog up anyone's browser. But to start off, I took this photo of the five characters I created in Tomodachi Life. I tried to have them wear clothes and accessories that I can actually picture the characters wearing on the show. I haven't unlocked all clothing types yet, so I'm just doing the best I can with what I do have for now. From left to right: MacGyver, Pete, Jack, Penny, and Murdoc. Do you guys think I did all right? |

| In Tomodachi Life, I gave Murdoc a nurse's outfit, and gave him a hospital style room, as a reference to "Partners". I gave him a makeup bag, too. How could I resist this photo opportunity? |

| A difference between Miitopia and Tomodachi Life is that Miitopia allows the player to cast mii characters into different roles already created, on top of just creating them from scratch. One of the characters is referred to as "The Great Sage" and he is a wandering magician who is highly respected and admired. He reminds me of Vitruvius from The Lego Movie, and other players have cast Vitruvius as The Great Sage. I decided to cast him as Pete, maybe because of his role as King Arthur in "Good Knight MacGyver". Either way, he seems to fit the role quite well. |

| I don't have photo evidence, but there was a time I walked in on Murdoc and he said, "I always freak on those rare occasions that I lose to MacGyver." I immediately though, "RARE?" He also once said, "I adore nice people. Too bad I'm not one of them. Too bad, so sad!" Well, if my mii characters ever start a revolt, I'll know who to blame. |

| In Tomodachi Life, the player can group different Miis together and turn them into singing groups. I could write songs, too, but I usually just stick with the default tunes the game comes with. I call Mac's group, "Mac & the SAKs" Here they are performing a musical. |

| Yesterday, all the Mii characters celebrated Murdoc's birthday. Here's a picture. (After all, it was MDB's birthday yesterday, too). Unfortunately, Murdoc is the only MacGyver related mii in the picture. |

| In Miitopia there is a guy known as "Worried Explorer" who always searches for treasure, but never finds it. How could I NOT cast him as Jack? This was his response when my own mii character turned down a quest from him. Sounds like the Jack we know, doesn't it? |

| So a little story about something that happened in Miitopia. Penny's job in that game is a pop star. One of her abilities is to perform a "Love Song" which temporarily increases the bond between her and the other team members. The higher the bond is, the more abilities teammates can perform together. Another teammate, Astrid, was about to get hit with a blow. She didn't have much health left, and the blow would have been fatal. (I should add, that Miis only get knocked out. They come around after the battle is over.) Penny jumped in front of Astrid, taking the damage for her. Penny only had limited health left herself, so she got knocked out saving Astrid. When Murdoc saw what was happening, he got really ticked off, activating the "Avenge" skill. He yelled, "You'll pay for this!" Then he went nuts and attacked the bad guy that defeated Penny. My own Mii character joined him, and she was just as mad as he was. Murdoc wouldn't stop until it was defeated, even when his turn was supposed to be over. When he finally defeated it, he said," I got him, Penny." After the battle was over, Penny healed up, and Murdoc and my character calmed down. So, those who ship Murdoc/Penny, I think this is nice, don't you? |

| When I was playing Miitopia last night, my mii character went out on a quest with Mac, Murdoc, and Penny by her side. We had to fight a boss for possession of chocolate cake (because you should never come between a girl and her chocolate cake). As soon as the boss showed up (some kind of demon), I though "Whoa, he's HUGE!" Turns out I had to fight three of them. The demons had the ability to feast on the fears of my character and her teammates. It didn't always work, but when it did, the miis would crumple onto the ground, shivering and whimpering (I'm not exaggerating when I say they were acting like Murdoc does around snakes.) It got REALLY awkward. My character got nervous, and wouldn't fight. When Murdoc tried to take a turn to attack the demons, my mii grabbed his legs, begging him not to leave (through no input of mine.) Murdoc smiled sympathetically and forfeited his turn to offer comfort. Penny was a wreck, too, but MacGyver smacked her with his sword and yelled "Snap out of it!" which brought her around. (It's not as harsh as it sounds. He didn't hurt her, and helping her return to normal helped increase their relationship.) It got kinda awkward when Murdoc got nervous, and kept begging my mii to stay behind and offer comfort. Eventually, they ALL got turned into nervous wrecks and wouldn't fight. Finally I had to take turns pulling each of them out of battle so they would recover. It was a relief when we finally beat them and got to eat cake... Boy, I wish I had pictures... Also, at one point in the battle, Mac got knocked out, causing both Murdoc (!) and Penny to avenge him. Because of Murdoc's personality (stubborn) he got really mad and was an effective weapon. Because of Penny's personality (airheaded) she sobbed uncontrollably and couldn't fight very well because she couldn't see through her own tears. |

| One thing I love in Miitopia is the fact that there's a journal function that allows the player to play any one of the background songs that they heard in the game, while the mii characters dance to it. Nintendo outdid themselves, the music is amazing, in my opinion. Here's a photo of Mac, Murdoc, and another mii dancing. I wish I had a video. They are adorable when they dance. |

| I plan on adding some characters from the reboot, but haven't really gotten to it yet. At one point in Miitopia I was told to cast miis to play the three "Fab Fairies". I cast the older two easily, as I had nobody particular in mind to play them, but the description for the youngest said that "she's the youngest and the shortest, but makes up for her lack of height by her bossiness" or something. Of course I had to make her Matty! But I had no picture available, so I had to wing it. My mii Matty looks nothing like the character, but hey, I highly doubt Meredith Eaton would mind. |

| As an imp, one of Murdoc's quirks is poking other team members in the butt with his spear, which tricks them into fighting the bad guys during his turn, so that he doesn't have to. My mii is his favorite target, apparently, but if I'm not available, he goes after MacGyver. |

| Might as well discuss the love life of the gang in Tomodachi Life, since I don't have any more pictures to share, at least not yet. MacGyver has no love life, because I don't know who to set him up with. Maybe my sister.  Poor Pete has the worst luck. He's asked out Bonnie (from CHiPs) many times, and always got rejected. He was the only one of my Miis with a romance rating in the negative numbers. (Suddenly, I wish we had a wincing smiley.) Jack doesn't have much luck either, as I don't know who to set him up with. Penny is dating Fonzie (from Happy Days) and they have been talking about getting married. I thought letting them get together was a good idea at the time, but now I want Penny to hook up with Murdoc. And Murdoc has no one either. Well, this turned out boring. |

| One time, playing Miitopia, Murdoc got in a fight with Baricza (from CHiPs). Since I made Baricza a chef, one of his abilities is to feed other team members spicy dishes, which makes them breathe fire onto the bad guys. Unfortunately, this also makes the teammate angry at him, since they didn't know it was spicy until they ate it. This sometimes blossoms into a fight, which is why Murdoc was angry at him for a few days. Eventually, Baricza (the other team members just call him Bear) apologized for the incident, and Murdoc got really emotional, and they made up. Here's a picture of them making up.  |

| Playing side quests in Miitopia, I unlocked the vampire job. The game told me to try it out. I think I'd better add a mii based on rebooted Murdoc for that one. |

| In Tomodachi Life, there's a game called "Quirky Questions" in which the player can fill in the blanks for questions to ask mii characters. Some examples are "Who hides (insert words here) in their apartment?" or "Who is afraid of (insert words here)?". Whenever I ask, "Who is afraid of snakes?", Murdoc always raises his hand. If I ask, "Who's greatest weakness is heights?", Mac responds with a raise of his hand. |

| So playing miitopia, Penny unlocked this new ability. As a pop star, she can sing a song that can be used to bring back a fallen friend. MacGyver unlocked "Super Snap Out of It", which apparently can also be used to bring back a knocked-out teammate. So Murdoc lost all his health points, and passed out, and Penny tried to use her song. It didn't work. Suddenly, Mac ran over and yelled, "Snap out of it!" and whacked Murdoc in the face with his sword. It worked, and Murdoc was grateful to be brought back. Seriously, though, I'm cracking up. I mean, Penny and Murdoc always had a thing for each other on the show, and Mac never liked Murdoc, for obvious reasons. So Murdoc "dies" in my game and Penny's all, "Come on Murdoc, you can do it!" and when that doesn't work Mac's like, "GET BACK HERE! *WHACK!*" |

| So something awesome happened last night, during my nightly playing of Miitopia. So during our last two battles, things got kinda intense. The first one had a fiend that could drain a team member's health points all at once. He hit my mii, and both Murdoc and MacGyver wanted revenge. (Finally, someone wants to avenge me!) Murdoc got angry, and went nuts trying to attack the fiend. When he finally got him, he yelled, "I took him down, [inset my mii's name here]". He still wouldn't calm down, and attacked the other bad guys, too. MacGyver was sobbing, and couldn't fight well at all. Penny tried to use her "Angelic voice" to bring my mii back, but it didn't work. MacGyver yelled, "Snap out of it!" and whacked me with his sword. It didn't work. Penny tried her song again, but to no avail. Finally, I used a special shaker of sprinkles which always bring a mii back around. It worked, and we beat those bad guys. (Actually, it's kinda sad, watching Mac sob and beg me to come back, to no avail, even if the miis always come back around after the battle is over). The second battle also had one of those fiends (gosh, I hate those things). It tried to attack Murdoc, but both my mii and Penny(  ) jumped in front of him and took the hit in his place. The hit knocked both of us out, and once again, Murdoc got really upset, and activated his "avenge" skill. MacGyver whacked me with his sword, and this brought me back, but the stupid fiend killed me again instantly (did I mention how much I hate those things?). This made MacGyver cry again, and he whacked me again, but it didn't work. After fighting for a while, both Murdoc and Mac calmed down, and Mac whacked me again, and this time it worked. No matter how many times he hit Penny, she wouldn't wake up until we finally won the battle.I wish I had a video of that fight, 'cause it was probably the most amazing fight I've had so far. I might not have portrayed it 100% accurately, because it happened pretty fast, and my memory is a little foggy, but I don't think it's that important. At least I have this picture, taken right before Penny tried to use her song on my mii. You can see Murdoc's anger and MacGyver's tears in the photo, too. |

| Turns out the game actually keeps little videos from all of our battles, and yeah, I definitely messed up on some of the details. I just wish the DS system let me upload those 2 videos, instead of leaving them on my system... Maybe I can use a camera and hold it up to the screen, or something.  |

Last name: MacGyver. Nickname: MacGyver (I didn't want everyone to constantly call him Mac). First name: Peter. Last name: Thornton. Nickname: Pete. First name: Jack. Last name: Dalton. Nickname: Jack. First name: Penny. Last name: Parker. Nickname: Penny. Then it got hard, at least for Murdoc. We never got a name other than just "Murdoc". The game wouldn't allow me to leave anything blank. Finally, I decided what to do. First name: Mur. Last name: doc. Nickname: Murdoc. | Playing Tomodachi Life yesterday, I heard Murdoc tell me, "I always strive to be a good person." Guess he doesn't know who he's based on. Penny told me, "I'm in LOVE! It's not like it is in the movies, but it's pretty nifty." Somehow, that sounds like something she'd say. When playing Miitopia, I came across Jack again. We were in a volcano, and Jack had his back turned so he couldn't see my mii walk up behind him. Then he started talking to himself. The conversation went something like this: JACK: Gee, it's really hot here. My hat and clothes are dripping. MY MII:  JACK: Maybe I should just take them off. | Had a bit of a scare a few nights ago on Tomodachi Life. MacGyver had a fight with my sister (who, as I posted before, is his wife). They almost divorced over it, but they made up. It would've sucked if they broke up, because then I'd have to wait until Mac fell in love with a proper suitor, then they finally married, before Sam could come. And Penny commented about having a crush on Murdoc. I told her to tell him, but he never showed up, which broke her heart. Dang it, Murdoc, if my OTP can't happen on the show, can't it at least happen in the game? Oh well, maybe another time. |

Been a VERY long time now since I last shared here. Nothing's really of interest in Tomodachi Life, and I put Miitopia aside. But now they're coming out with a switch port for miitopia with new stuff in it, and I plan to get it for sure. I just got my hands on a switch a few weeks ago (animal crossing style, no less, one of the last ones made as they're quite rare), and it has the feature of taking short 30-second clips to upload online. So I can now add little videos of miitopia. Idk if I'll be using the exact same miis this time around, but I certainly have the option of including them nonetheless (since you're eventually able to add up to 100 miis, so I can still put Mac and the gang in and still try new characters to spice it up)  |
