They cut it pretty close if they ripped off Children of a lesser God. That film was released 1 month before this episode aired on TV. Was there a book the film was based on?

The film was an adaption of the play which was very successful in it's own right. There might of been some insider knowledge on it though with the timeline cut so close ...... I think Matlin & Winkler were good friends for starters.

I liked the whole episode, but my favourite moment has to be the water spout trick and the subsequent punch powering up from the depths!
Mac's look on surfacing is great: Did I get him? I DID!

It is a bit weird to see Geoffrey Lewis in this though - I first saw him in 'Every Which Way But Loose' and for me, he'll always be Orville Beddoe...

One of my favorite feel good episodes. The dream sequences over and over again are a bit aggravating . The antagonist is very believable and wonder why he wasn't in more episodes.
The water clock was excellent as well.

I guess it's silly to say since there's a bit of fantasy in MacGyver at times anyway, but I thought the deaf teacher's dreams so accurately predicting the future stretched the concept of premonition dreams too far. I mean, this isn't the Dead Zone. How could she have known a vehicle was going to come out of the lake and hit MacGyver?

Am trying to imagine him trying out his sign language on her and probably getting it a bit wrong.

I think it showed how we make things fit.

The vehicle she saw was a car, but what hit him was a hover craft. Also the lightning bolt was an image on the side of a van which they twisted to fit her description. Once they had that seed sown they were looking for things to match up with her dreams which is what people do in real life with premonitions.

We twist things to fit what we want them to fit.

Good overall, but I find that the Mac / Crane confrontation is not developed enough, too quickly put out of harm's way ....
