I voted for excellent on this episode. The thing about Bigfoot was well found. It's everything a MacGyver adventure needs to be. This episode gets 5 stars of me. A topper episode in the third season. Episode highlights: the skeleton, the sound of the beast while Mac sets his first survey marker, the whole scene when Mac searches the ship, no dialogue just suspense, the night in the woods with those lights and in the end the fight with Bigfoot.

"Ghost Ship" definitely gets an "excellent" rating for the suspensefulness of the episode. And MacGyver takes on Bigfoot! smile.gif I also liked this episode because it was one of a couple that had a hint of the supernatural in it, like at the end when MacGyver "hears" Bigfoot! Great episode, as usual. sak.gif duct.gif

Oh yeah this was excellent!!! I voted excellent hehehe.. Back then when Mac got on the ship that bigfoot scared the heck out of me! Scared the heck out of mac too! smile.gif For a little while Mac believed in bigfoot.. You just never know who is sharing our world. smile.gif That bigfoot was throwing Mac around like a rag doll.. I liked the young girl that Mac was protecting.. That accent was awesome. Sounded like she really had one.. I liked how Mac was trying to figure out what language she spoke so he spoke all languages ROFL..

Really good episode. Loved the suspense and the girl was great! I loved the language thing too, Sonya! Nice tension reliever in the middle of the suspense.

Great ep. This one had me on the edge of my seat. Loved the scene where Mac is struggling with "Bigfoot" and the guy's mask falls off! laugh.gif Ooops! I guess you never know what those with nasty intentions might do to avoid detection.
Oh, and of course, the "which language?" scene cracked me up! HOW many languages does our guy speak?! tongue.gif
The end was cool, too, where Mac and Pete "hear" Bigfoot, and give each other a look like, "What the...? That's NOT the tape!" Being a scientific type, I know better than to scoff at the existence of ANY form of life just because I don't have concrete proof. We've only scratched the surface of what's out there.

I liked this ep a lot. I think it was one of the first ones I saw actually...... I always like it when they put in some myth!

One of my favorite episodes - I was really scared, mostly when he was exploring the ship. A very good idea, and I still remember the end when they heard a noise from the woods that sounds like bigfoot, they thought that it was just a joke but it was true smile.gif I voted for excellent.

Interesting tidbit. Have you guys noticed that when they jump off of the ship Mac's shirt is neatly tucked into his pants, but when they climb out of the lake it's pulled out to startegically cover the .... er family jewels? w00t.gif
I can't help it...I am shallow.
( I wasn't quite sure whether this should go to the nitpick or the drool thread? laugh.gif )

its probably more likely that his shirt pulled out from the swimming motion in the water.

Good episode! The look of fear on Mac's face is totally convincing! I love to hear him speak in different languages, too.
Actually, now that I think about it, I should have voted Excellent! *rolls eyes at self*

I loooooooove this episode! Can't wait till I get it on DVD! I voted excellent!

I voted good, but I could have easily voted excellent, too. I love this one! His acting is really good in this one--he looks really terrified! You can see a lot of expressiveness in his eyes in this one, as if he's actually curious about what's going on instead of simply "acting" interested. I like when they dealt with the supernatural and the unexplained, like The Secret of the Parker House. They always leave it open to speculation...and Mac even wonders by the end, too! They could have done one about the Lochness Monster, and I would've liked that one, too.
I probably don't need to mention this, girls, but I thought he looked so cute in this one! That smile! That black shirt! His hair glowed with the fire in the background! I also loved how protective he was of that Russian girl. I like when she tries to pronounce his name in English. smile.gif

I just love this episode! A lot of action and advanture, I like when it's something unknown in episode rolleyes.gif And Mac was convincing, he was really looking terrified.
I remember, I was laying on the floor in front of the TV watching this episode and got a hell of a fright. I said something to my parents about it and they both said they got a fright as well.
I wonder if thats the single scariest moment in the whole series.. as far as real fright factor goes. I can't remember another scene where something like that happens completely out of the blue.. absolutely no warning.

I think Mac did too. Seriously... RDA's reaction was truly lifelike - he was scared (pooless). I wonder how they rehearsed this... maybe they just just told him he'd see bigfoot's face in the window? - Meanwhile, the director and actor protraying bigfoot were planning something else - to really frighten and surprise RDA. I know from my acting class, you can't give up too much in the rehearsal because for the reaction of the actor to be real - totally surprised... you HAVE to be really, totally surprised.

Hey Rocky... I noticed that you took my bad word and modified it... That's OK - I don't usually use bad language - it was just to make a point.
That which has been established will endure even with time and at a distance.
I can't tell you anything about what happens after the cameras go off, mostly because I'm usually unconscious by then.

Actually the forums did it automatically. We have bad word filters.
Thats not to say that people can start using bad words all the time though.

I think RDA is a good enough actor that he knows how to be portray scared. But it could be that the crew saw a good opertunity to get back at RDA for some of the pranks that he's pulled on set, so they set it up to scare him good.

In the Wish Child, when the cobra peeps out of the bag, he gives a great realistic reaction as well. They used it in the intro for quite some seasons. Later on, they changed it, as Mac's look changed as well and somehow the reaction wasn't as realistic as before.
By the way, I like the end scene of this ep as well. When they've just convinced themselves there's no such thing as Big Foot and all of a sudden they here this cry coming from the forest! Brilliant!

who jumped out of their seats when bigfoot's hand smashes through the window?
I got definitely got a fright! Some episodes I enjoy more the second time I watch them but not this one. Once you know what’s going to happen any suspense has gone and then you are just watching MacGyver walk in silence around the boat for ages .

This episode would've been better if they didn't play it to death on TV. I can probably act the whole thing out. The Bigfoot was kinda hokey but frightening. The revelation that it was a guy was anticlimactic. Not to mention predictable. But the twist ending really threw me for a loop. A great "what-if?" moment.
Another fright besides Bigfoot's hand/foot through the window: door slamming right behind Mac!!
And another one: skeleton arm dropped from a tree above Mac before the toten pole!
The episode has all the things I like to see on Mac: hairstyle, shirt with jeans, wilderness, campfire, language skill. He also got hit hard by the bigfoot, poor him.

This episode demonstrates what a good actor RDA is. With minimal dialogue during the first half, he was able to nonverbally express his fear, and convincingly too. I really believed he was frightened out of his wits!

Nice epi, I love it when he's looking out for kids and all.
I jumped out of my skin when the skeleton fell down from the tree, I crapped myself honestly! I read a book long time ago about mysteries of the bemuda triangle (probably haven't spelt it right) when I was young, about all the boats that go missing, or found empty with no crew, creepy stories and the empty boat took me straight back and was very eary for me to watch!

This is another episode that I have revalued recently, after new visions.. Great suspense and mystery in the first part (I'm scared too, when the arm of bigfoot enters the window..)maybe a little less effective in the second. Also the direction of this episode is of good level.

Had to vote this one as being just average. I thought it was ridiculous. RDA did a good job, but the plotline was just so far out there, it turned the episode into a laughfest.
I'd expect to see someone attacked by a giant Bigfoot in a low budget horror movie starring B grade actors, not in my favourite TV show.
This one didn't do it for me, I'm afraid.
