QUOTE (Sheepy @ 31 January 2007 - 06:00 AM) The Ebay guy told me the package was returned to sender because of the lack of the province that I live in. Erm... how come all other dvd's made it to my home address without it then?
Maybe he was looking for a farm and it was addressed to SHEEPY.
Thank god he didn't send it to the nearest pond then

but I thought Murdoc's sudden interest in running a country was pretty over the top. As far as the "cliff"hanger ending (haha), yeah, with it being the last Murdoc ep, I was disappointed there wasn't a finality to it.
Yes, a little over the top maybe. But I disagree on the "missing" finality. We know Murdoc gets away every time, why change it there? That's what I like about Murdoc eps, you never know what will be next. And you know Mac will always have to be watching over his shoulder...

Anyway...I mostly disagree about Good Knight MacGyver. yeah it had it's elements of cheesiness, but definitely on my favorites list! Love Arthurian Legend...love MacGyver...it doesn't get much better! That said, there were parts that were unnecessary or could've been done better...but I loved it!
Oh I just love the Arthur legend. So even though this plot is a little "too much" I loved it! (Too bad I didn't saw his real tomb in Glastonbury during the Avalon weekend) Besides, I'm quite spiritual, so this ep sucked me right in! I love the way he dies when Morgana shoots him. I don't think I've ever seen anybody die more beautiful than he did. (In a TV show, that is)

Ending up in another coma, was better? I think the crate broke his fall and arm for the most part. That scene is so cool, with that shot of our unconscious MacGyver.
MG...I responded in the nitpicks thread so we don't hijack this one!

I agree! I loved the slow motion...it was so dramatic! It would have been easy to overdo that scene, but I think it was perfect! In fact, that "death" scene and the one I brought up from The Stringer are two of my favorite in the series (see my post in the nitpicks for The Stringer )
"It's amazing what one can do when one doesn't know what one can't do." Garfield the Cat
"Another day, a whole 'nother set of fresh possibilities. I'm a sucker for mornings." MacGyver
I don't know about you guys, but the quality of sound of season 7 kinda sucks. It's like the background music is way louder than whatever is being said.

So in Belgium. Don't worry within a few months we'll get season five.

Does it bother anyone else that the DVD's aren't subtitled? They are generally clear and easily understandable, but there are a few times where it would be helpful to have subtitles. (Like when I have insomnia at 3am and want to watch an episode but don't want the volume on to wake the downstairs tenants, it would be nice just to have the words on to read.)
Also, there is a part in the current eppy we are discussing..."split descision", where Ronnie gets the free tickets from the wrestler, then comes back and says something to Mac and Dent, and I have no clue what she is saying. It may just be me...too many rock shows...could be losing hearing.
Anyone have any idea how one would get DVD's with either french audio or subs? Can't find on ebay, but they have to be out there right? And if I got my paws on them would I have to get a region whatever player? Any DVD's I buy on the street in france don't work on my player. And I've never seen MacGyver DVD's sold over there though it's on TV constantly still.

The region 2 DVD's are subtitled in many languages. Season 7 isn't out in region 2 DVD format yet though. You can make some DVD players play any region by using a site like this- http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

She says something alike: 'That's Herman the German! He's the greatest!' and Dent says: 'Wrestling is fake!' Or something like that.

OK Ronnie says to MacG and Dent: "Wow, it's Herman the German!" Dent says "Who?"Then Ronnie says "Hey Herman, I heard a rumour you ------ ------- Mike and wretched Rodney."
The blanks are the words I can't understand. "Knocked back?" That just doesn't make much sense. It doesn't sound like "knocked out".
Does anyone have exemplary linguistic sluething skills? Or can anyone just plain hear better than me?

Oh by the way, thanks MLB for that! How cool! I don't see my player listed on there, but I'm gonna have a more tech-savvy friend look at the site and see if we can get around that. Thanks!

Yeah, it's probably knocked down or some variant. Normally a little thing wouldn't bug me, but when you watch that episode a million times over the years, and never can figure something out...ya know? Normally all the dialogue on the DVD's is very clear and concise. Does anyone else have their own "can't figure it out" line?
I'm always looking for a way to improve my English, so I rarely put on subtitles. Besides if I don't hear a certain clearly enough, all the more reason to rewind and watch it all again.

Although I am still angry with the finale (my primary motivation for writing "Graduation") , it did have some memorable and fantastic episodes. The medieval trip reminds me of the western trips (and Army of Darkness, but only in setting). Obsessed is a dream come true for fan-fic writers, leaving Murdoc alive. The whole episode is a great final showdown with Murdoc. The Mountain episode even revisits Jack (a personal favorite character). One of my only problems were that Penny Parker seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth after Cleo Rocks. But I think that review is unfair. Judging Mac by its outrageous plots is like judging Magnum PI by the kind of shirt Selleck wears. It is a trademark of sorts. The Final Season is a satisfactory endcap. Not great or terrific, but satisfactory.

Finally picked up S7 after joining the forum yesterday to complete my collection (minus the movies). Never seen Obsessed and had always wanted to! It was great! A classic Murdoc episode. I loved the bit when strapped to the missle. I missed Obsessed when it originally aired and never caught it in syndication. I also loved Off The Wall as he defuses the bomb, "dang." I've grown to love the later seasons with the social themes, which I didn't originally appreciate when younger. Great variety of styles within the 7 years. Still my favorite series.
