Yes, November 14th/88 was the actual day of the shoot for that newspaper insert clip.
Thanks for that Joe. Where did you find that information?

Just wondering. On the travel log it is pointed out that Barraca is located in Brazil. On Mapquest however it is pointed out that Barraca is on the location of Algodões. I know Barraca is a fictional country but how was decided Barraca would be located there when the travel log was made? Brazil is South America while the episode explicitly tells us Barraca is in Central America. Just wondering because I just found out that in Cuba there is a place called Baracoa. Even though Cuba is not part of Central America but belongs to the Carribean. Maybe Barraca would be more located near Dinoto another fictional country but definitely more in Central America. Just saying.

I guess we all have something we don't like. I think the glasses were cool.
Kiwi, that's great.

Incidentally, and along the same lines, my avatar is comprised of original sketchings from 'The Survivors'. If you recall there was a sea plane, a mother ship, and a Zodiac speed boat that were used for transportation. Of course, this is a potentially dangerous shooting dilemma here and so for everybody to be on the same page as to which direction the plane would land, and on what side of the boat etc, etc, - they made up some sketches for the cast/crew/pilots/captains to familiarize with. I took the best, condensed it and then added/overlayed a Pete/Mac still.

I'm quite fond of this episode - one of the reason's being ... the ponytail! Gotta love it! LOL
I also loved how Pete was half-expecting Mac to come and rescue them (Pete and the nun), and that Mac came through for him (was there ever any doubt!).
The interaction between Mac and Jack was great ... I found it to be one of their better episodes together.
Favorite scene has to be when Pete is asking where Mac is - and poor Mac is clinging to the bottom of the plane.
Drug dealers are clearly distinguishable from everyone else because of their ponytails, sunglasses and chewing gum.
Mac - not a master of disguise on the same level as Murdoc.

I like that you drew your own avatar and put so much thought into it. Of course, I like the other people's avatars also, particularly if they are pictures of Mac.

Just read all the previous comments. Perhaps there should have been a separate poll for Mac's ponytail! I, personally, did not like it. I think it somehow made him look older than he was. I remember guys wearing ponytails at that time and I never liked it. I understand why he did it, though.
Now, this is just an observation (I don't want to open up a whole debate or anything) but there seems to be a strong thread of Catholicism running through the episodes that have anything to do with religion. I know there is the Jewish episode, but in that one everyone keeps asking MacGyver if he knows what to do, so he obviously isn't Jewish. Other Native American, etc. worship rituals are also touched upon, but not as much. I guess I find it interesting (I'm Catholic) because I've noticed shows that have a religion as part of the story usual use a generic Christian formula. There was also that episode with the mob guy in the witness protection program (Jimmy??? Can't remember) where he and Mac go to a Catholic church, the guy goes to confession but really gets a gun from the priest, and then Mac outs the "priest" because he didn't genuflect when he walked past the altar.
