It WORKED

to their total supprise the hole clogged up with cooked egg and stopped the leak... just as it did in MacGyver

I remember when that episode first aired. My mother knew what he was going to do before he did it.

She commented about using the egg whites to fix the holes.. and then low and behold, thats what he did.

apparently it's an "olden day" trick

Yep, I think I heard someone on Car Talk who used this once. The hosts found it utterly hilarious.

Only thing with Car Talk is that you've got to be in the right mood for it.
