The magnesium Mac uses to open the freezer lock ignites way too easy. Magnesium takes a lot of heat to ignite.

in the scenes where MacGyver is following the bad-guys van and again later when he has Penny and Biff in the jeep with him, the winch on the front of the jeep seems to appears and disappear at will.

I'm trying to think why they would need to use more than one jeep to film a single scene.. unless it kept breaking down.

I've thought that maybe they reused footage from another episode.. but I don't recall seeing that footage before this episode.

Again, I must nit pick. In the very beginning of the episode, when MacGyver breaks this Yuri guy from a Siberian prison, the clearly visible sign above the guard booth is misspelled. They used a letter that reads like a "G" in "Good" for a letter that reads like an L.

I must say their grammar and such is improving though :-)

The magnesium looks a lot like plastic.

what magnesium?

The magnesium Mac uses to open the lock. When he smashes the wheelchair wheel, it looks like plastic.

I'll preface this by saying that I haven't seen this episode in some time so I'm not sure what form the magnesium was in. True, certain forms such as ingots are difficult to combust, but fine slivers or powder ignite quite easily. Think of the magnesium fire starters that are popular with campers. Shave slivers from the magnesium block and ignite with a spark, that's all it takes. smile.gif

when yuri is in petes office and hes decided to change his name to BIFF at pennys suggestion after MacGyver leaves pete looks at him and questions him about his choice of new identities and i swear pete says "BEEF" Ive listened to it everyway possiable and he really says BEEF not BIFF

Wasn't that when they were trying to work out what he was saying, because of his accent?

I think so cause when ya listen to Yuri that is what it sounds like he is saying, well in my opinion anyway.

I was watching this episode the other day, and noticed something on the scene were Mac torches the lock in the meat locker. Here are some screen shots to illustrate it.

When mac is chasing after the black van with yuri and penny parker in it you can n see that there is no damage on the rear bumper of the jeep that should show after penny backed into the parked car.

several times during the show ( IE BIRTHDAY, The Outsiders) we see clearly that macs jeep is a stick shift with 4 wheel drive. Even in this episode when mac jumps in the jeep to chase the van we can see the jeep roll slighlty forward as he puts it in gear indicating a stick shift. However in this episode when penny is driving the Jeep it is clearly an automatic. It seems like a rather odd oversight for the production team to make unless teri hatcher didnt know how to drive a stick shift.

We also see other episodes where the jeep is clearly an automatic, so I think it's probably a case of just using different jeeps for different episodes and shoots.

Have you noticed the jeep changing models from shot to shot yet? it goes from round headlights to square in some scenes. laugh.gif

I think Penny's purse disappeared in the Jeep. When she looks for the adress, she takes her purse and leaves it in the jeep (near the pedals I think) when she gets out. When she tears out of there back to Mac to tell him everything, the purse is nowhere to be seen.

I think what happened here is that there was a slight gap in the story and they realized maybe during editing that they needed to add some clarity. So, they dress 3 people up and send them down the road in the Jeep. That Jeep is the same Jeep used in the previous and following scenes. It’s just later on where the plate is removed, fog light covers are removed and winch is added for the Birth Day episode.
There are two main Jeep Wranglers (1987s) used in the show as we all know. One is the Jeep that had the tan dash earlier in the show and was painted black. The other one came with the black dash. Hope this makes sense.

I have always wondered what happened to the jeeps after filming. Wonder if they are still around in some back lot somewhere of if they are scrap
