I love it for that reason alone- there is definitely always great interaction between Mac and Jack and even more so when Pete is there too. And I really liked seeing Jack, Pete and MacGyver all trying to take care of a baby. That was really funny- like MacGyver's version of "Three Men and a Baby". (I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the inspiration for this episode- both came out in 1987!)
And one of MacGyver's coolest MacGyverisms here had to be building that great baby playpen out of hockey sticks! And Jack Dalton built a plane in MacGyver's living room! |

I voted good, too. Not a top-notch ep, but fun. Loved the humor... it did remind me very much of Three Men and a Baby. And because Jack was involved, you just knew there was more to the story... no ep involving Jack was ever simple, but it was always funny. Oh, yeah... I liked the makeshift crib too. Only Mac would think to use hockey sticks and a goal net! |

I love this ep! Seeing Mac taking care of a baby is so cute! He (and Jack) are so clueless! LOL!
Some very sweet moments when Mac and Jack ask questions about happiness, and a ROTF moment when Jack asks Mac to marry him!

Yeah, this one is hilarious! I like it when Pete says, "What's that ripping sound?" Ductape! MacGyver and Jack's confused expressions are priceless!  I also like the ending, when Mac is playing "hockey" on his kitchen counter with the kid. Does anyone else ever notice how the kid looks up at MacGyver when he makes the cheering noises and they freeze that as the final frame? It doesn't get much cuter than that. That baby liked to stare at him, anyway, maybe because he's attractive. It's proven that babies stare longer at attractive faces than non-attractive faces.  It's also proven that us girls stare longer at RDA than at other people on the show!
Jack (referring to the clock MacGyver places inside the teddy bear): "Mac, this isn't a puppy! (paraphrased) I thought that was cute and funny, too!  |

I liked this episode becuase of 2 points
1 - because it was a Jack & Mac episode and 2 - it showed the maternal side of both Jack & Mac.
They were so sweet with the baby. |

Just wondering about the twins who played baby 'Jack'. Malcolm and Fraser Fairweather. I googled them and it seems that twins, Malcolm and Fraser Fairweather are rugby players in Britain - quite good ones, too. I wonder if its a coincidence? ...................... I love the part when Jack is begging Mac to get involved in his new scheme. Mac says no and goes upstairs and Jack says he might have to stay with Mac a bit longer..Mac comes stomping down the stairs all ready to help Jack.

HereScroll down to the article called 'Fraser Valley wins U20 title in a blustery battle on the Rock'. There is mention of them. Now, as the episode was filmed in 1988 and the article printed in 2007, that would mean they'd be at least 21 years old - assuming they were a year old when the show was filmed. It could fit. Interesting all the same!

I really, really enjoyed this episode! There's a perfect mix of drama and humor. The scene where Mac's fixing the landing gear but loses his grip because of the hydraulics fluid and has to parachute down (which probably was the safest choice anyway, considering he was hanging under the plane!  ) is hysterically funny. The scenes where the mother felt she had to leave her child behind were heartbreaking, and then we had some good suspense when the bad guys were trying to locate the plates... But of course, the very core of the episode was the interaction between Mac, Jack, Pete and the baby boy. It's remarkable that the baby performed so well! Of course, they probably had to do lots and lots of takes, but still... the end result is amazing.  I *did* have "Three men and a Baby" in the back of my head, watching this episode... I saw the French original *and* the American version shortly after their original release, and found them both amusing, (though the original is better...). There is something very amusing with having a couple bachelors taking care of a baby. Usually confident men getting awkward and fumbling... It's been done on film a couple times, but I don't actually mind. The baby *does* indeed look a little bit like Jack...  The diaper changing scene in Pete's office (and the previous scene, where Jack suggest they should hose the baby down and Mac says no, after some consideration) sent me into fits of laughter. I also loved Jack reading "The little Engine"... and the cradle Mac created was truly ingenious. Mostly hockey gear, and some rope and cushions--brilliant!  "Marry me?" That line... I just about *died*  I think this is my second best Dalton episode to be honest, "Jack of Lies" being my absolute favorite. But, this one is still an "Excellent."

Mac & Jack taking care of a baby! lol 
I am now sad at the thought that Panama may never have received the promised Porta-Potties.
