Although grateful for this shot, I am so disappointed in how little Lenkov has shown his love for the show. It is like he has totally written them off, which really worries me, especially with the upheaval at CBS. Their redeeming grace may be they might want that magic number for syndication. BUT WOW are they promoting Magnum and it has gotten good reviews. I can't help but to be a little jealous on Mac's behalf. Sigh.

I have ajways felt Lenkov prefers his Hawaii shows. He said how much
he loved Magnum so I'm not surprised. Even Hawaii 50 gets tons of attention. MacGyver is like an afterthought. Maybe because he was brought in to fix it and not the originator. Whatever the reason I feel MacGyver does not get the attention it deserves. From day 1 they've been battling.

Well, it was the same 2 years ago because CBS always promotes the new shows the most. Unlike other networks (e.g. FOX), they only send the rookie shows to Comic Con and stuff.

So in 2016, H50 fans complained about Lenkov and CBS mostly promoting MacGyver and neglecting Hawaii Five-0.

Also, CBS does have a bit of a scheduling problem. Many of their shows are getting old and very expensive; some are in danger of getting cancelled. Their 2017 rookie shows didn't do as well as they hoped; they got renewed despite not having great ratings because many shows got cancelled after only 13 episodes.

They don't really have a ratings hit that could take over once their other drama/action hit shows are done. So I guess they really hope Magnum (or the new FBI) can take their place; delivering more than just a few seasons (and in Magnum's case, including a famous brand name). If these two don't deliver, they have a serious scheduling/ratings problems at hand next year. They already renewed shows that a few years ago would have been cancelled with those ratings.

But I'm jealous as well and also disappointed. Because although MacGyver is not the biggest ratings hit, they still chose to renew it and ordered a full season. They sure want to make it to 4 seasons to get a syndication deal; pumped a ton of money into it, have a cast and crew trying to give their best and they don't even have the decency to promote the S2 DVD that came out yesterday. I never expected them to do a big promo, but after the show has been off air for 3 months with no reruns, they don't even try to remind CBS viewers that the show is coming back soon.

I mean, what the heck?
