So....it's getting close to the end of season 2 and they're supposed to do the big reveal on Mac 2.0's dad soon. What sort of backstory do you think he'll have? Who will/who do you want to see playing him? Do you expect more surprises with regard to reboot Mac's family?

Well, it's Peter Lenkov. From all the episodes of "Hawaii Five-0" I've seen so far, he likes surprise visits from family members. Guess wouldn't be too impossible there's suddenly a sister or half-brother (or vice versa) of Mac showing up... or a mother that wasn't dead and just faked her death laugh.gif

Not sure I would like that, to be honest.

I still think it would be cool if Murdoc was Mac's brother. whistle.gif

Well, I haven't posted the Press Release in the Promo Thread yet because I noticed it only leads to confusion which episode will be on. But it's also up in the Episode Discussion Thread, so here it is to help with speculating: https://www.spoilertv.com/2018/04/macgyver-episode-223-macgyver-macgyver.html

That's interesting. It's funny, but my mind started going into overdrive when the reboot canon started hinting that they had a more active role for Mac's parents. I started wondering what they would do--and who they might cast.

I have to admit, I was sort of hoping they would bring in Dalton James (SAM) to play the role--even if Mac 1.0 and Mac 2.0 are by no means related; I still think that it would be really cool if James came on the show at some point.

And, I was even hoping that they were considering another unlikely casting choice for Mac's dad. When I saw one of the stills for "Bear Trap + Mob Boss", something hit me that I hadn't noticed before: from at least one angle, Lucas Till looks a little bit like an actor named Alistair Petrie; I first saw him playing a Scottish officer in Cranford. Now, I'm sort of hoping that they might consider Petrie for a reboot version of "Good Knight MacGyver." Perhaps they might once again do something a little bit different from the original--instead of Mac going backward, they could have him dreaming about ancestor Angus Mac'Iver coming forward, like in Gaumont's Les Visiteurs franchise (which I only know about from watching John Hughes's English-language version Just Visiting https://www.imdb.com/tt0189192/. That's an awesome movie!)

Speaking of people who look a little bit like Lucas Till....has anyone else noticed that LTOA's Sophie Ward and him have awfully similar jawlines? And she's really close in age to a certain actor in "MacGyver + MacGyver"....
