But these primitive trap/stick/trip line techniques were well documented through media coverage and a sponge like Mac would have taken notes regardless of how remote his particular assignment was. Influence? a small percentage but there are episodes in the bush where he utilizes booby trapped trip wires (Ghost Ship off the top of my head) and almost seem like a distant and more passive country cousin of those tactics.
