My friends are driving me crazy with April Fools pranks

And they plan to keep this up until... the end of the week

Me every April 1: "No way I'm gonna get fooled this year!"

Me later that same day: "...Well, there's always next year"

That sounds like so much fun! I have had the baby shark song (the pinkfong one) stuck in my head off and on for almost a week now!

At work they put signs on the restroom mirrors that read "out of order. Please do not use. Sorry for inconvenience." The best was that they had put up signs on both entrances that the electronic key entry was out of order. Several people fell for that one.

One of the site moderators keeps posing as the site administrator, and some bolder friends keep posing as old trolls that got blocked, but then it backfired when they got temporarily blocked as well

I hate April Fools Day, mostly because I fall for it every single time. I always forget about it and I have so much on my mind that I kinda forget everything else. lol Next thing ya know... BAM! April Fool's!

Thankfully, nobody pulled any pranks on me on Monday. I would be kinda upset if they did.

Baby Shark is annoying. We have a kid that comes to the nursery that cries the ENTIRE time he's there. The only thing that shuts him up is Baby Shark. So several mornings we had to listen to it on loop for several hours.

Then my guy friend kept singing the Pokemon theme and saying "Swiper no Swiping" from Dora the Explorer. He did this over and over and over and over again all weekend... I wanted to kill him. He thinks it's hilarious to get a rise out of me.

I've also had the Miraculous Ladybug theme stuck in my head too and I catch myself humming it. I blame Dragondog... XD

Edit: Side note... My vacation starts next Wednesday, so my sister and I are getting out of dodge and seeing my Dad. Woohoo!! Road trip!!

I think the worst pranks my friends are pulling is the "Fred prank". One of them has a ghost account called Fred, where they go around making weird posts talking about themselves in third person: "Fred says hi!" "Fred thinks it's strange you ask who Fred is. Fred is Fred." This woudn't be so bad if they didn't make three different Fred accounts, with the same user picture and everything, then making them talk to each other.

"Fred says hi."
"Fred says hi back to Fred."
"Fred says hi to both Freds."

I swear, next week is going to be "Spend the entire time convincing everyone you weren't on drugs last week" event

Lol, as soon as I read that part about being a couch potato and drinking coffee, my brain went, "Say, 'Like always?'" and I went, "No." My brain goes, "Say it." I go, "Why?" My brain says, "You gotta."

We really didn't have much chance to be too lazy. We did a lot of shopping, movies, eating out. Today I did laundry and cleaned up so we have less to do tomorrow.

And I drank WAY too much... my poor liver...

But my sister and I are will be on our way home tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll get a decent night's sleep. I'm used to sleeping alone, so sharing a bed with my sister kinda sucks. She snores...

I'm taking drawing lessons (by which I mean I bought a few books and am just practicing out of them). I think I'm doing okay, for a beginner

My sister and I made it back safe and sound yesterday evening. Other than not getting any sleep, I had a good trip to my Dad's. Now it's back to the usual grind and trying not to get snarky with people. I had so many emails and missed calls while I was away too, and people were like... WHERE ARE YOU!?

Sheesh... can't take a vacation without people being all needy and crap... *shrugs*

So an online friend and I had a bit of a disagreement, and just to make sure there were no hard feelings, I drew her this. Her online persona is a chicken, and, well, you know my username, so I did this:

Okay, this has been driving me insane for years, so if anyone knows the answer, please put me out of my misery?

So you know those kits that involve raising baby caterpillars into butterflies, or ladybugs, or tadpoles, or whatever that you can order through the mail, usually from magazines? Well, I'm always seeing the kits on shelves in hobby stores, and I always wonder, how the heck do the babies survive inside a box on the store shelves for however long until someone buys it?

Do the store employees switch them out every few days or something? Do the eggs hatch only after they're exposed to the right conditions, which can't happen until someone sets it up?

So I just learned the hard way: I'm allergic to MSG...

I've had mild symptoms for years, but never thought anything of it. Got Chinese food yesterday, and there was an extreme abundance of over-seasoning on the fried rice...

Long story short: I hurt. Badly

I found out recently myself that I'm allergic to grated cheese. The weird thing is, the allergy came out of nowhere because I always had grated cheese my whole life without any problems. But in the last six months I made 3 dishes with grated cheese and three times after I finished it, I was throwing up pretty much immediately. I mean really throwing up, usually ending with mild rash on my face. Maybe I just have to avoid grated cheese for a while but I have a bit of problem with that because I love cauliflower au gratin in the oven or pasta. I don't really take pride in my cooking when it's just for myself but cauliflower in the oven with potatoes and sausage in roux grated with cheese is one dish where I do take pride in. It's a great winter dish that I've made numerous times on a cold and lonely Sunday night before the movie starts and I can eat 3 to 4 days with such a dish. I would really hate it if I have to give up making that dish.

And again I found out two months later when I made pasta with salmon in the oven also au gratin with cheese and another two months later when I made pasta carbonara. But that wasn't made in the oven, just put cheese over it. Because the bag was nearly empty, I decided to toss it all in my mouth, couple of seconds later... my head in the toilet. And I don't know where it comes from. All of a sudden, I'm allergic to grated cheese. I mean, go figure, while I don't have any problems with other kinds of cheese. Whatever it is, I hope it's temporary.

@MacGod - Sounds like you had a bad bag of cheese. I know they put stuff on the cheese to keep it from clumping...I looked it up, it's called cellulose... or powdered wood pulp. At least, that's what is done here in the US. Overseas, I don't know.

If it's never bothered you before, and it was just that one bag, I would assume that bag might have been bad. I would try another brand.

The older I got, the more allergies I've picked up. I was shocked when I hate a Brazil Nut and I had a bad allergic reaction to it... like my throat closed up. So now I have to stay away from it. I don't process dairy like I used to either.

Heavily fried, processed foods, pizza and alcohol all make me feel bad now. Even too much coffee makes me feel bad. I started making protein smoothies at home, and my body LOVES those, but I get bored with them rather fast.

Also, MSG is basically bad sodium in processed foods. Remember when Mac told Pete to tell the Chinese place to hold the MSG in Out in the Cold? Its bad stuff. My mother couldn't eat it. It made her bloat.

My family has a history of high blood pressure because we're all high strung, high stress people... so we always have to watch our sodium intake.

@DragonDog - I'm sorry to hear you're in pain from that! >_< It seems the older you get, the worse certain foods effect you. My digestive system just doesn't work like it used to anymore. It regulated after I started the protein smoothie diet, so I think I wasn't getting enough nutrients or something. But I eat a lot of bananas and drink tea with probiotics, and that helped a lot.

I haven't been around much because I had some real life issues, but I'm working through it. I'll probably be a little MIA every now and again, but I'm trying to post a bit more.

I really doubt it. It happened three times now and each time it was a new bag.
