300 was SciFi?

In a sense. I can see how it would fit in there. The "300" movie was actually based on a comic book called "300" by Frank Miller, which was based on the actual historical battle of Thermopylae- but definitely highly dramatized with some other fictional things put in along with the actual historical details. So you can imagine how much the movie hyped up the comic book from there.
Not to mention the fantastical creatures.

Of course, an even cooler battle was the one Gideon and the Israelites fought against the Midianites. God took 300 Israelites to soundly defeat an army that was "thick as locusts", whose "camels could no more be counted than the sand on the seashore." You can read about that in Judges 6-8.

Now I totally understand how it falls under science fiction.

No! At best it's fantasy, which still has no place in a Sci-fi list.

These idiots need to take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions_of_science_fiction.

Theres no way something based on history can be a sci-fi.

Next thing we know Harry Potter will be on the list dry.gif

I've been voting daily, for RDA, and my favorites Lost and Doctor Who. In the 1st season, I never thought of "Lost" as Sci-fi, but definately after the 3rd season it is bordering on it

I've been voting too. I've been watching Heroes and Lost. Love them both... BSG was kinda disappointing this last season, but still good. I haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth... I loved 300, but I'm hard pressed to put it in the sci-fi category, even if was based on a comic book/graphic novel. I liked last years' Doctor... it was great seeing him on Heroes, but kinda wished he stayed on Doctor Who.

*takes breath*

I also wished they'd nominated RDA for his Atlantis appearance. That role had more meat to it, and got to see action Jack instead of goofy Jack. I like Goofy Jack, but when it comes to award-worthy roles, RDA shines in serious storylines.

Just IMO... smile.gif

I agree--RDA as a comedian is always a delightful pleasure, but he's so incredibly talented in the serious storylines. I always believe he's going through the pain and feeling the gravity of the situation.
