A week ago I made in my opinion (and I'm sure in others opinions as well) probably one of the strangest decisions in my life. I decided to go back and do gymnastics again, for the first time in nine years. I did it for like ten or eleven years until I was 14. Than I got so sick of it. In those nine years I never did any other sports, except for the gymclasses at school. So yesterday I had my first class. To my surprise I still was able to do some of the exercises the way it should. A little rusty though but that's also why I went back. To oil things up again.

First was warming up and it was like going back in time. Running around in circles, through each other and the further basics.

Second part was acrogym, doing a few acrobatic exercises, like standing on someone thighs or shoulders.

Third part was with the equipment. Don't know all the exact English terms but we used something what we call 'the horse'. We had to support on 'the horse' and than swing our legs over it a couple of times etc. And than we also used something I don't know the name of. It looked like a little chair, we had to support also with our hands and than swing our legs around it.

In all the class was like going back in time. Coming home. But I'm sold. Going for it again. A couple of days I couldn't even do two decent push-ups, not even in class. You had to do it with a partner. One of them puts their legs on the other one's back and than you do push-ups together. I did one. Coming back up for the second one was not possible yet. And right now, before I came online, I just did five of them. It's a start. A new start and boy I already feel better than last week.

I can do it!

Now I just have to get paperwork done. First three classes are for free.

So what are you into? Except for troubles where Mac has to get you out of? tongue.gif

Any of you into hockey perhaps?

I'm into hockey--watching it, not playing it. wink.gif I've been a dancer since I was five (not professionally, though), studying tap, jazz, and ballet. I exercise daily (sometimes twice a day), doing cardio and weight training as well as yoga and pilates. Someday, when I can afford it, I'd like to get a mountain bike. I used to bike everywhere when I was a kid, and my dad is quite an avid rider. I also want to play raquetball (to get rid of my anger and frustrations).

I love Ice Hockey. NFL footbal is pretty kewl too. Being a Kiwi I'll watch the All Blacks play when it's on TV (that's our national rugby team by the way.)

I use to play one-on-one roller hockey with a friend and before that as a teenager played cricket (our summer national sport) everyday during summer vacations.

But mostly my sports activities these days involve doing stuff with my kids, Hiking, bike riding, some occasional softball and roller hockey with my son and our home made hockey sticks (had to make em cos they rare and expensive here).

When you say "into sports", do you mean actually participating in it, or watching it on TV?

When it comes in doing sports, I like to work out by fitness and running, surfing and swimming.
I'm actually thinking of joining the local capoeira studio (if anyone knows what it is..)

When i comes to watching, I like to watch soccer, especially the world cup and European cup.

Actually doing sports, yes, not watch it on television.

And capoeira is sport of doing all sorts of dance moves while fighting. If you have ever played Tekken 3, it's the style Eddy Gordo uses. Fighting stance is actually kinda dance from left to right without moving back and forth. Or else look it up on youtube.

Very well put!
I've wanted to join for a long time... but I thought I was lacking some serious flexibility. It appears anyone can learn it.

It was actually invented by Brazilian slaves who were forbidden to fight, but they came up with this way to defend themselves.

Yeah I've seen Capoeira and thought to myself it's more about show than any real form of self defense. I really couldn't' see any of the guys I saw doing it winning a street fight. But they would have looked good as they got their asses kicked laugh.gif

I'd say it would be a pretty good way of getting in shape though, much like the Tai Bo fitness classes which seem to be the rage a few of years ago.

I don't have a lot of chice. I made it into geology at university (finally, that's why I haven't been around latetly), and we have to go out often into mountains and sorts, no matter the weather (That was NOT in the job description, but I still like it).

Edit: Speaking of Hockey, anyone knows where can I find the hockey table that Mac has? (shown in the first season, in the episode where Uranium goes missing).

In my oppinion, Graham Bell has a lot to answer for. It gets harder and harder to escape from the world, the news and worst of all, people.

Waterskiing - watching (my husband and kids, and others too biggrin.gif ) and doing myself.

Must admit, though, that it is rather chilly this time around. Will wait for Easter, then start again, after a break of 5 years, due to pregnancies and babies biggrin.gif . I don't want any more kids, so now I should have a chance of getting a full season huh.gif , maybe I can learn to take the slalom course wink.gif

Carter: You spent seven years on MacGyver, and you can’t figure this one out?
You used to be MacGyver, MacGadget, MacGimmick.
Now, you’re Mr. MacUseless.
