Are you a collector? If so, what is your poison? Movies? Stamps? Books? MacGyver collectibles?
Tell us! And if you can, show us!!! biggrin.gif

Well, for me, I love collecting steelbook editions of movies. I have quite a range so far but these lovely collectibles can be pricey at times. Especially the move limited they are.

Needless to say, these are some of my favourite! smile.gif

I'm just into movies I guess. According to my list I have 734 movies. But that is no longer correct since I bought a lot of new stuff and intend to sell a lot too.

Oh wow! Now don't get me started on this as the list is huge. I think I'm a hoarder. I suppose my smallest collection, but biggest size-wise are my cars. I love '80s Mk2 Vauxhall Cavaliers and currently have three. I did have four, but five cars in total was too much of a drain. One of them is my first ever car that my late father taught me to drive in. Ironically, it's that one's birthday today! First registered March 1st 1982! biggrin.gif

Normal collecting, has to be TV/Movie stuff. I have loads of toys from when I was a kid up the loft. Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic woman dolls, original 12" cylon centurian, Starsky and Hutch's car, Airwolf, A Team van, Bond's original Aston, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the list goes on...

KITT stuff- I'm nuts on that! I have an original remote KITT that's boxed, the new version, the talking Kenner version, Rough Rider's version, ERTL versions, Scaletrix version that jumps, novels, annuals...and so on.

Then there's all the other kind of TV related stuff. I have a lot of pics and autos from conventions, a lot of which is Supernatural related. My two prize possessions from that are a signed script that the WB auctioned off to support Katrina victims. (so I know its real) and a large artwork with quite a few cast members on that they've all signed. That was all signed in front of me, in person by them, so again, I know its the real deal!

I am, of course, collecting MacGyver stuff now, although that's kinda limited. I have the On Ice novel which I've just finished, an unofficial, but rather nice Mac tee, several fanzines, and a mug my best friend had made with lots of Mac pics on, including my photo meeting Richard last year. I'm still after two fanzines - Have Swiss Army Knife Will Travel, and Promises to Keep. I'm not sure if there is anything else to collect, as I'm not into the toys - I don't think they reflect the show at all and are ridiculous prices!

I have lots of shows on DVD and am still collecting those too - mostly 70's, 80's and 90's stuff! I'll add some pics later of a few of my bits, my phone's on charge right now! smile.gif

I collect various things... T-shirts, mugs and video game stuff. I'll have to get pictures one of these days. I tend to collect at least an item or two of whatever I'm into. Currently, I have two t-shirts coming in, one is from Misha/Jensen's "You're Not Alone" campaign and one from Jared's "Never Give Up" line over at the Supernatural website.

I still have to purchase a couple more items that aren't major... a Phoenix Foundation mug, a MacGyver mousepad and model of the Impala.

I also collect wall-signs... usually vintage style wood/metal signs. I'm currently looking for a "breakfast" themed one and a Nuka-Cola one from Fallout.

Once I get the shirts in, I'll see if I can get a picture. smile.gif

Nice collection, Barry! I've really slowed down in the past year. Got most of those off ebay when the airport confiscations were peaking at an all time high. At that point you had a very interesting scenario - municipal employees selling knives that they didn't really know that much about. Thus many were undervalued in their descriptions & deals aplenty, especially if decent enough photos were provided. I'm now searching for a good display case to present them all .......

And the same to you Joe! thumbsup.gif I've come across some ideas on Facebook under the SAK Collectors site, but for now mine are in a drawer like yours. In some ways, it was easier when all I had was my Huntsman and a PST. I pretty much have settled on a Tinker that I picked up a few months back for my daily carry, as well as either my MiniChamp or one of the Classics. I know of a collector that still manages to get some of his Wengers thru confiscations, and manages to do pretty well with it. You're right about those confiscation dealers....some pretty rare ones have passed thru their hands and they don't know what they've got! Most of mine are thru Ebay or Amazon. One of the things that's happened is that I've got both of my sons collecting them now too! biggrin.gif

Macsjeep, I like it! I've been trying to build a collection of Mac items as I go along, but I've only the DVD's right now. I really want a mug and would love to pick up some posters and novels. We're all big Mac fans in this household, so I've got the family backing lol biggrin.gif !! I would really like it if someone would come out with a set of MacGyver scales (SAK grips) with something MacGyver on them.

I'm impressed with all those SAK's. It might be interesting to know how many times when you've actually needed one if you have actually had one about your person - I can just see the potential irony of 50 in the drawer at home and none in your pocket when you need one.

I've been racking my brains to think about what I collect. It is fair to say that the answer is probably nothing with an all consuming passion. As I look around my room I see the pretty cut glasses that I have in the cabinet - these are part sets acquired at boot fairs that I have steadily re-grouped and they are nice to use once or twice a year at special meals - I got a stunning set of 6 once for about a fiver and found set of 4 genuine marked Royal Brierly crystal ones for £2 each in a charity shop - the trouble with glasses is that you only need so many (however you aquire them) and these days I can't justify buying many more.

I have a couple of cut-glass decanters that are just nice to look at in the cabinet - but they space consuming with no real use so I stopped buying them (I do like them though). I do like Walther-glass dishes and cake stands (it might be fair to say that I own more than I can use - the cake stands are rather nice, maybe they might make a photo for you) - I get them when I see them cheap in charity shops.

I've got a stack of regular DVD's about 100+ deep of mainly 80's movies and chick flicks (for my daughter) that myself and the kids enjoy. DVD's are about £1 each in charity shops and its a cheap way of seeing different movies. I also have a few full series box sets, Mac, Stargate, Star Trek TNG, Quantum Leap, Xena (for my son) (can you see a pattern here?). NB. The trouble with DVD's is finding the time to waste watching them - that's what ironing is for LOL

So in short I guess I tend to collect things if they have a practical application, but I am probably not a rabid collector of anything specific.

Yes Barry, as I understand it, the Wenger factory had a major fire back in the 1980s and as
a result there are several models still surfacing that are a bit of a mystery. I bought one on
eBay that has an unusal symbol on it and that I still haven't identified to date. Victorinox seems
to be the preferred collectible, but the Wenger is right there in quality. Glad to hear
you are passing on the tradition to your boys, knife collecting is a lifetime thing. sakopen.gif

Just an observation, but ebay UK does not seem to have pocket knives for sale - it carries all the supporting things with Swiss Army or Victorinox in the title, but no actual knives. It must be a policy thing here.

Yes, Maclover, you are not wrong. In times of the most dire need, those saks will be
snug as a bug and snoozing deep within their drawer bed. doh.gif

However ....... those are not my 'carriers'. tongue.gif These knifes are not allowed in the house
and reside in the tool chest within the garage and next to the car. So, depending on my
itinerary/attire, I can pick and choose what model(s) I need for any particular day.

I also have a minichamp always on my keychain, usually a moneyclip in my pocket, and then if I'm flying
my drone I will carry a cybertool on my belt. The cybertool's tools will completely strip down the
drone if need be and also make adjustments to my camera and tripod. If I'm going deeper into
the woods, I will loop on my Swiss Tool as well. sakopen.gif

The best deals come off the original/American site eBay.com. The problem is that many sellers will not ship abroad .... so you will need to secure a USA Postal address through one of the many online suppliers. That's what I have done, and although a bit of a hassle upfront - more than worthwhile in the long haul.

Aren't those Swisstool Spirits a dream? I tailor my carry too. What I should do, although it wouldn't be near as fun (!), is just buy a Swiss Champ and have it all! It's fun just the same, and gives me a hobby in common with my boys. I love watching Mac use his SAK's, and have come up with some great uses for mine too. The Vic can opener combo is probably my favorite tool, although I love the Wenger scissors biggrin.gif. Thanks for sharing your collection Joe! If I can be of any help, Maclover, let me know!
