Just read on TMZ that actress Theresa Saldana who played Maria on "The Treasure of Manco" has passed away.

According to the TMZ website,

Actress Theresa Saldana who played the commissioner's wife on '90s cop drama "The Commish" and was the victim in a highly-publicized stabbing has died ... TMZ has learned.

Saldana had been hospitalized with an unknown illness and died Monday at Cedars-Sinai ... according to a member of her family.

The actress made headlines in 1982 after being stabbed by a deranged fan outside her L.A. home. A delivery man who happened to be driving by saw her and came to her rescue, and she was able to survive the attack.
Saldana also famously starred alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci in "Raging Bull."

She stopped acting in 2004.

She was 61.

So she died of illness not attempted murder?

She was 61 so that made her about 37 in Treasure of Manco.

Very sad news indeed.

Looks like she passed due to the unknown illness. The stabbing took place in 1982. If it was publicized back then, it was no doubt prior to us knowing much about her unless any of you knew of her around that time.

This has been an incredibly rough year for our actors/actresses, performers, etc. I don't remember the stabbing incident, but I do remember her on the Commish.

You know, I recently recorded Raging Bull from tv and I had known about this I wouldn't have erased it without watching it.
