I'm watching High Control. I just noticed Dent's patrol agent Montana is played by the same actress who plays the female cop (can't remeber her character's name) in Prometheus Syndrome. But I did notice she wears the same black gloves through most of High Control. Or they the same character and I'm just too tired to remember this. What others actors, actress' same parts different characters on the show? |
Posted by: MacGyverGod 14 August 2007 - 12:34 AM |
Montana was played by Gwynyth Walsh and Rachel from Prometheus Syndrome was played by Jenette Goldstein. Two different actors, two different characters. On the site you can find many names in the http://www.macgyveronline.com/pages/episodes.html returning like Kai Wulff, Christopher Neame, Linda Darlow, Gerry Bean and Dale Wilson and many more. |

Maybe this can be another list we can make? we could list the actor and the different characters they played.. and which episodes they played them. |
Posted by: MacGyverGod 14 August 2007 - 01:46 AM |
Yeah, we could do that. |

Lance LeGault (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0499223/) played Elliott in "Honest Abe" and Sheriff 'Bull' Bodine in "Jack in the Box" (a character very similar to the one of Sheriff J.J. Bogan he played in the episode "Sweet Britches" of Airwolf)... Lance is one of my favorite actors, and I see him as the ultimate bad guy of 80s TV series. He played 3 different baddies in Airwolf and Knight Rider also, and played famously Colonel Roderick Decker in The A-Team and Colonel 'Buck' Greene in Magnum PI... "Do that again and your moma's gonna be wearin' black!" |

Well they fooled me.. lol It was late and was tired, my mind must be playing tricks on me. thannks for putting me straight. I don't really keep track of all the actors and actresses that where on the show.. |

The differences are quite obvious though. Jenette Goldstein has a more "darker" face, in matter of speaking. I wouldn't doubt she'd speak Spanish. And she's one of the few actors who actually had a few bigger appearances in bigger productions like Aliens, Fair Game, Lethal Weapon 2 and she had a few cameo appearances as an Irish mother in Titanic. She's the one telling her kids to go left when Di Caprio and his friend are looking for their cabing and when the Titanic is sinking she's telling them a story. In Aliens she has a shaven head, in Fair Game she fights with William Baldwin and in Lethal Weapon 2 she's one of the colleagues of Mel Gibson and Danny Glover who got killed during the investigation. Might wanna check out your pool next time you go swimming. And she has few guest appearances in the fourth season of 24. Montana on the other hand has a much 'fresher' look and a more bratty character. While she has the fangs Rachel had claws. When she gets up after Dent falls on her is hilarious: get off of me. Get off. |

Gwynyth Walsh also played the Klingon B'Etor of the Duras Family. Sister of Lursa, and Toral who try to overthrow Gowron, on Star Trek The Next Generation; and from season 6 of Stargate SG-1 - The Cure, she plays Kelmaa/Egeria - the Tok'ra Queen. I think she did the Star Trek role before MacGyver, so it was interesting to see her without all the Klingon make-up. Good actor. |

This would be a cool list to have on the site- but it would take some time to go through all the various actors/actresses ..... Though there's some I can name offhand- you'd have to start, of course, with Dana Elcar showing up as "Andy Colson" in the "Pilot" episode (who we will assume is in fact a separate identity from Pete Thornton, undercover speculation aside ) and then, starting with "Nightmares", Dana Elcar regular appearances as Peter "Pete" Thornton. (And he becomes an official regular cast member in Season 2, along with Richard Dean Anderson as "MacGyver"- and that's it!) And then you'd have to mention people like Elyssa Davalos portraying "Lisa Kohler/ Lisa Kosov" in "Lost Love" (Parts 1 and 2) and then a few scant episodes later, showing up as "Nicole 'Nikki' Carpenter" (in "Fire and Ice", "GX-1", "The Widowmaker", "Blow Out", "Early Retirement" and "The Negotiator") And there's the late Robert Donner as "Vince" in "Soft Touch" and "Benjamin Wintergreen" in "Cleo Rocks" and also recurring as "Milt Bozer" in "Serenity" and "MacGyver's Women". IMDB has him listed with an uncredited appearance as "Milt Bozer" in "Halloween Knights", but that was Robin Mossley showing up as MacGyver's neighbor- Wilt Bozer! And he himself also had dual identity roles as "Wrigley" in "Jack in the Box", "Earl" in "The Endangered", "Charity Santa Claus" in "The Madonna", "Alexander Shannon" in the "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2) episodes - and then his later recurring role as Wilt Bozer (in "Halloween Knights", "Serenity", "The Lost Amadeus", "Hearts of Steel" and "MacGyver's Women". However, in "Serenity" and "MacGyver's Women", he only showed up in MacGyver's dream.) (incidentally, he's also shown up on StarGate SG-1 in two different roles!) And you could also mention Kai Wulff as "Stephan Frolov" in "Every Time She Smiles", "Hans Visser" in "Collision Course", "Anton de Brun (AKA Ladysmith)" in "Black Rhino" and "Nicholas Von Leer" in "Eye of Osiris". And Christopher Neame as "Quayle" in "Deathlock", "Erich Von Leer" in "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2) and "Sir Duncan" in "Good Knight, MacGyver" (Parts 1 and 2). And there's also Cuba Gooding, Jr. who first showed up as "Ray Collins" in "The Challenge" and then later became a recurring character as "Billy Colton" in "Black Rhino", "Serenity" (only in MacGyver's dream) and "The Coltons". Linda Darlow appeared as "Doc Beatty" in "Brainwashed", "Mrs. Juarez" (the school principal) in "Live and Learn" and as "Connie Thornton" in "Hind-Sight". Gerry Bean appeared as "Wilcox" in "The Survivors", "Ahriman" in "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2), "Garris" in "Tough Boys" and "Dick Russell" in "Trail of Tears". Dale Wilson (who's done a lot of voice acting for cartoons, by the way) appeared as "Erik Dunlop" in "Blow Out", "Crandell" in "The Survivors", "Colin Yardrow" in "Jenny's Chance", "Dennis" in "Tough Boys", and "Sundance" in "MacGyver's Women" (this was only in MacGyver's dream) Ramon Franco appeared as "Ramon" in "Final Approach" and "Spider" in "Blood Brothers" Lance LeGault appeared as "Sheriff 'Bull' Bodine" in "Jack in the Box" and as "Elliot" in "Honest Abe" And another guest star turned recurring character- Bruce Harwood first showed up as "Juice" in "Blow Out"- and later went on to portray recurring character "Willis" in "The Wall", "The Wasteland", "Trail of Tears" and "Hind-Sight". (Also showed up in an episode of StarGate SG-1, by the way- but the list of MacGyver actors and producers, etc. that are on StarGate SG-1 is another list in and of itself! ) Michael D. Roberts showed up as "Booker Wilson" in "The Challenge" and later appeared as "Dr. Pierre Redemteur" in "Walking Dead" Michael MacRae appeared as "Gant" in "Eagles", "Larson" in "The Challenge" and "Paul Stams (DXS agent)" in "Blind Faith" Jackson Davies appeared as "Sam Mulligan" in "Early Retirement", and as Father Pat Lafferty in "The Madonna" and then has his dizzying ascent through the LAPD as he goes from "Police Detective Mike Kiley" in "Twenty Questions", "Police Lieutenant Mike Kiley" in "The Wall" and "Police Captain Mike Kiley" in "Lesson in Evil". Nana Visitor appeared as "Laura Farren" in "Hellfire" and as "Carol Varnay" in "D.O.A. MacGyver" Kaj-Erik Eriksen appeared as "Jacob Miller" in "The Outsiders" and "Tommy Wiley" in "The Visitor" Tim Rossovich portrayed a "political prisoner" in "A Prisoner of Conscience" and "Mike Desmond" in "Friends" and "Willard" in "Squeeze Play" ................... I'm sure there's still tons more- but like I said, this will take some time to go through and list everyone. |

And did you have all that memorized or did you have them written down already.. Wow.. I would take me a long time to figure all that out.. I'm watching For But For The Grace and I know this time the Guy who plays Sandler is in another episode. |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 14 August 2007 - 09:19 PM |
He had it memorized |
Posted by: MacGyverGod 15 August 2007 - 12:22 AM
That's John Considine. Plays Foxworth in Log Jam, Sandler indeed in There but for the Grace (he wrote that episode and also Blind Faith, Good Knight MacGyver and Trail to Doomsday) and he played Andrew Lawton in Off the Wall. There are indeed many more. Ken Kirzinger played Bigfoot in Ghost Ship and the bodyguard in Jericho Games. The villain in Fraternity of Thieves Pete caught in the woods shows up again as a father in High Control with little boy Tommy Giordano. Frank Ferucci in Blow Out (Major), Easy Target (Armin) and Passages (Tarik, the thief). Martin Milner played the hockey trainer in Thin Ice and MacGyver's father in Passages. Than the woman Eunice from Legend of the Holy Rose shows up in Thin Ice as well, Legend of the Holy Rose, Serenity and Twenty Questions. I think her name was Mitzi Kapture who played an ex-girlfriend of Jack Dalton in Rock the Cradle and shows up again as Laura in The Wasteland. The girl who played Laura Fowler in The Gun shows up in The Invisible Killer as a deputy or something. Blu Mankuma also shows up in that episode and later returns as Lt. Rhome in Hearts of Steel and There but for the Grace. George Kee Cheung shows up in The Golden Triangle as General Narai and I think also as Dr. Liang in Mountain of Youth. Anthony DeLongis played Piedra in The Assassin and came back as Major Kosov in Lost Love. Robert Romano played the bad brother in The Prodigal and returns in Twice Stung but can't remember as who. The villain again. Tia Carrere as Lisa Chan in The Wish Child and shows up again as bad guy... girl in Murderers' Sky. Vernon Wells as Jack Caitlin in The Heist and as the main villain in The Odd Triple. The guy who played Strycker in Obsessed also appears in Fraternity of Thieves as a colonel or a general. Walter.... Walter something... the guy who played Starkoss in GX-1 appears in Gold Rush as Sergei Baronov or something. The guy who played Chuck Larabee in The Invisible Killer played Richardson in Blind Faith. Also from the Invisible Killer was the guy that escaped along with Larabee, he later plays George Frailey in Live and Learn. The sheriff from Bitter Harvest shows up in Cease Fire as one of peace negotiators and as the boss from the construction company in The Outsiders. Herb Edelman in Lost Amadeus, Faith, Hope and Charity and Split Decision. Richard Chaves as Enrique in The Treasure of Manco and later in Tough Boys as Manny. Jay Brrr.... Brrr... something as Zamora in The Gun also plays a highly ranked military in Kill Zone. Joseph Lambie as Lisa's father in Twenty Question and Hearts of Steel plays the bad guy in Birth Day. The guy Steve from Renegade plays a hotheaded cowboy in MacGyver's Women. Marie from Renegade plays Lisa's mother in Twenty Questions. Jerry Kluge in High Control played the commander in Renegade. |
Posted by: Old Fan 15 August 2007 - 10:02 AM |
Jay Brazeau... who was in The Gun as Zamora and Kill Zone as the military guy was also in Stargate SG-1 as the annoying Harlan from Tin Man (season 1) and Double Jeopardy (season 4). Very versatile actor... |

Well..... like I said, some of them I knew of offhand- but I also doublechecked most of them with the (mostly-reliable) IMDB.com (But definitely don't take it as the definitive site for TV shows and movies- it definitely gets some stuff wrong) And there's lots of people to list for MacGyver. This show definitely knew how to recycle actors! |
Posted by: MacGyversCrush 15 August 2007 - 02:24 PM
The show was eco-friendly in more than some of the topics.. In real life too.. Not wasting good actors to waste away in the actors unemployment job line. |
Posted by: Lothithil 15 August 2007 - 02:46 PM
Marshal Teague Also, Bruce Harwood played The Major's bomb expert with the Irish accent (named 'Juice' ) in the ep 'Blow Out' before he came back as Willis in later seasons. |
Posted by: MacGyverGod 16 August 2007 - 06:29 AM |
Marshal Teague and Jay Brazeau are two of the most unidentifiable ones through the series since in their first episode they're clean shaven and in their next heavily bearded. Just like the commander who later played Jerry Kluge. |

And I was just passing by, when I stumbled upon this very interesting topic of conversation. So I was just wanting to add my little voice and say, firstly, those two men you just mentioned happen to be a perfect example of what I am about to say. I mean, seein' Marshall Teague and Jay Brazeau in MacGyver AND Stargate SG-1 . So that makes them TOTALLY unbelievable as characters. I mean, perhaps it is just that they are in the Vancouver area, and they look for work. And they have some contract with the Bridge Studios. So they always check in with the boss at Bridge before signing on to anything else. And then the boss says something, " Well, Hehehe. Now that you mentioned it. I just so happen to HAVE something for you right here. You got to work with Richard Dean Anderson in this program he is doing . " etc. And so the guys just oblige the boss ( AND Ricky Dean ). And then we don't get to know any other actors besides them and the names that are getting mentioned in this wonderful topic of conversation. By the way, wasn't that Marshall Teague that I just saw ( the other night ) I was watching " MacGyver's Women " . He had on a beard and mustache. But I could swear it was him. As well as the episode that he was in ( in the fourth season ) called " Renegade " And the thing about Kai Wulf and Christopher Neame also bugs me . And Dale Wilson. I mean, Dale Wilson . . . in all that time that he appeared year after year. he was a bad guy. Except in the episode called " Jenny's Chance " . He was a good guy helping out MacGyver / Dexter and Pete , and Jenny. But suddenly, if I can remember the guys name. He was also a bad guy lots of times. I can't remember the name, but I can say some episodes / characters he was . He played Stamms in " Blind Faith " . He was the evil Larson in " The Challenge " He appeared in " Eagles " , . . . Does anyone remember who I am talking about ? He is another name that we can add to the list of guys that came on the show many times and played many different characters. That is the guy that if no one else mentioned him, than I would be the one to add him to the list. That is my donation to the list of names. . . It's like I can know the name, but it escapes me. . . I know, people. I do that a lot, lately. So very sorry, for that. I mean, I can't remember the name of somebody or something. And I hope someone would come up with who / what I am talking about. I have been very lucky in someone coming thru for me every time. And I am truly , sincerely, grateful for that. And one day, I WILL be able to remember what / who I am speaking about. I pray that day to hurry up and get here. But if someone can help me this time, I would appreciate it. Thanx, in advance. I also recently caught something else. I don't even know if this guy got any credit . But do you know the guy in the middle ( in the episode called " Silent World " ) they guys that are speaking to Geoffry Lewis' character. . . In " Silent World " we see his face , he is sort of balding . but on the side we see his hair is blond-ish. . . . well, anyway, what I wanted to say is just this past week, I was watching " Deathlock" and there was this guy , we can't see his face as it is in a dark room . But he sat in the middle of the council group , as they ( the three men, including this guy that I speak of ) spoke to Christopher Neame's character about getting MacGyver this time. It is funny that I never knew that this guy was in that episode at all. I mean, I got used to knowing he was in the " Silent World " episode . But it was a surprise to " see " him in " Deathlock " also. Okay, I guess I talked your heads off, enough here. As I say, I thank you to the person who can help me remember the name of the guy I was mentioning earlier. And if the guy in " Deathlock " and " Silent World " got any credit, that would be nice to know. Sincerely, Kate Mackay |

Actually, I found Jay Brazeau to be rather charming. " Come Tryah " And to think, I was watching him on "The Highlander " as Officer Commanski . When I saw him on MacGyver and then " Stargate SG-1 " I hardly recognized him. Because I was watching " The Highlander " on DVD BEFORE I ever got the MacGyver dvd's or the " Stargate SG-1 " dvd's . And then I looked back at the credits and said to myself . . . " Ohhhh, yeahhhh ! That is him, WOW ! " Hehehe . Pretty cool, huh. OH, and then if you are talking about that cross-over. There is Christianne Hurt . She was the " Dolphin " in that episode called " the Black Corsage " and then she was Ritchies girlfriend ( or sort of girlfriend ) in " The Highlander " . . . But I guess that is as far as it goes, . . . right ? But again, it is because " MacGyver " " The Highlander " and " Stargate SG-1 " ( and probably for that matter, " Stargate : Atlantis " is filmed in Vancouver. ( Sorry , in advance , if this sounds like I am getting off - topic. ) I guess Vancouver is like the Hollywood of Canada . Does anyone here live in Vancouver ? Is it really as wonderful as it appears ? Sincerely, Kate Mackay |

First time I noticed it was his angry looks in the saloon. I figured: 'Hey, that's Steve.'
For reappearing all the time. Well, Kai Wulff has more appearings that Neame. Neame has three show ups and Wulff, four. OK, one more show up.
Also four show ups. Too bad I don't like Jenny's Chance. But it was good seeing him play the good guy for a change. Just like Madison Mason.
Michael MacRae!!!
Nope I figured you were talking about the bad guy himself. David Crane. Unless that is the one you are referring too. I just figured another, the guy Danny from Fire and Ice shows up in Two Times Troubles as Roxy's/Carla's manager, Rogan. |

Of course, you are thinking of Terry David Mulligan. ( formerly known on Good Rockin' Tonite . Terry was the host / V.J. for that show. ) Thanks , MacGyverGod , for that bit of info about Michael MacRae . So I thought I would return the favour to let you know you are thinking of Terry David Mulligan. Btw, Terry was also on the Stargate SG-1 . But he only appeared once, to the best of my knowledge . But I was not referring to David Crane. I know that David Crane is played by Geoffrey Lewis . Nice guy. Hehehe. But I was referring to one of the council members. The guy in the middle . I wish there was another way I could describe him so you would understand . Thanks again for the help . Sincerely, Kate Mackay |

Okay, so now I will advance with caution. But just now, I was watching from Stargate SG-1 . The episode called " Desperate Measures " And I saw Ted Cole . I said to myself , " Hey , isn't that Geoffrey Kramer ( or the bad guy ) in MacGyver: Hell Week . He made us all think, he beat David Ryman and then he went with a few of his friends to the bar to drink up and celebrate his winning the baracade contest. And then he lost, because he cheated, when he was listening up to what David was telling his girlfriend. . Ted Cole appeared on Stargate SG-1 as the Doctor ( one of Adrian Conrad's doctors that helped him become the Goa'uld that he wanted to be. ) But then Jack had Harry Maybourne hold the doctor and some other guy ( another doctor ) at gun-point. . until the authorities would come and take them away. etc. So what I am trying to say is that Ted Cole is another one to add to the list. He is even one of the MacGyver / Stargate SG-1 cross overs. I seem to find so many of those. And I guess it is because all the ones that just stayed on MacGyver have all been discovered. Or do we already have Ted Cole ? Sincerely, Kate Mackay |
Posted by: MacNymph 24 August 2007 - 03:08 PM
We are not doing cross over (MacGyver/Stargate SG-1) actors. This is a thread for actors that played multiple roles on MacGyver. ____________ And please stop quoting large sections of other people's posts. Especially when it has little or no relevance to what you have to say. Thank you. |

I mean Lawrence ( or Larry , if you prefer ) Dobkin. I guess if he was mentioned before - my apologies. But Larry Dobkin was the Professor Ryman in " Hell Week " and he was Alexander Karsoff in " A Prisoner of Conscience " in the season one. Okay, I guess if anyone is going to think of any more. There is this guy in Early Retirement, one of Webber's henchmen. He's pretty tall and also shows up as the cop in The Challenge, who questioned MacGyver after they find Booker dead and later busted Larson. |

While reading this there were names I should've thought of, like Gary Chalk, Peter Yunker, Les Carlson, Milton Selzer and Roger Aaron Brown. But then again if you don't know them all: like Malcolm Steward.
It's amazing how they can fool you with the same actors. Others you recognise rightaway, others don't.
Possible wife or other relation to Stephen Downing? I mentioned him before but don't know if we have his name yet but the guy from The Spoilers, who stopped the fight, The Outsiders as the head of the construction workers, Cease Fire as a member of negotiators who told Pete he had to be there when the cease fire was about to be signed and in Bitter Harvest as the sheriff. Also one not mentioned before I think is the guy Mac met in The Enemy Within. 'Skyhook?' He shows up again in Jerico Games when he introduces Mac to Nikolaï. |

Wasn't it Julie Downing that helped Pete find MacGyver buried under the avalanche in " Out in the cold " ? - Kate Mackay |

Thanks to everyone who had input into this.. especially MacNymph for the very long list. http://www.macgyveronline.com/pages/reappear.html I hope I haven't listed anyone twice on the list, but please let me know if you find a double (or any other) error. |
Posted by: MacNymph 27 August 2007 - 05:41 PM |
Sorry I wasn't done. Frank C. Turner was a priest in Back from the Dead, Milt Bozer in Halloween Knights & News in MacGyver’s Women Gordon White was Kennan in Early Retirement, Sam in Deadly Dreams & the plant manager inTrail of Tears Dana Still was a doctor in Murderer’s Sky & Dr Farrell in Two Times Trouble Garvin Funches was Coco Hubbard in Tough Boys & Brian Jeffries in Gunz ‘n Boys Henry Gibson was a customer @ Chicken Habit in Harry‘s Will & Pinky Burnett in Deadly Silents Time Winters was Prz. Marcel Peugot in Honest Abe & Merlin in Good Knight MacGyver pts 1 & 2 Now I think I'm done. Other than to look for errors or more to add to those already on the list. |

Thanks Nymphy. Those are online now as well. |

I found some more: Jerry Wasserman: Falco in Collision Course - season 4 JD Maddox in the Gun - season 6 Peter Yunker: Carlo in Rock the Cradle - season 3 Richard Giordano in Battle of Tommy Giordano - season 4 Gordon Tootoosis Perry in Mask of the Wolf Phil Crow in Trail of Tears and... Although he was uncredited... Dan Shea: Truck Driver in Lost Love part 2 - season 3 Motorcycle Guy in Renegade - season 4 I think my head is going to explode from all the cross-referencing I've done... Got a question for Rocky... Could you put the "List" in alphabetical order? That way, it makes it easier to check on any additions/possible new entries. Thanks!! |
Posted by: MacNymph 29 August 2007 - 07:49 AM
Geez I hope your head didn't explode! Especially since those four have already been listed.
Yeah Rocky, that's a good idea. I can help you with it I think. Only question would be do you want them listed by first name first Or last name? |

Hi everyone: I found some more ! How 'bout Tamsin Kelsey . She was the clumsy character ( bumped into MacGyver's bike . . . with MacGyver still sitting on it . ) named " Lulu " in " The Lost Amadeus " . She played an attorney in the RDA movie called " Beyond Betrayal " ( excellent movie, btw . ) And she was " Gairwyn " on Stargate SG-1 . The episodes called " Thor's Hammer " and the sequel to that , " Thor's Chariot " . I also thought of the guy that appeared on MacGyver as Lisa Woodman's father in Hearts of Steel , and Twenty Questions. He also appeared in the episode " Birthday " . But I think he also appeared on Stargate SG-1 . The two remaining episodes of the " Hathor " trilogy. The episodes were called " Out of mind " and then " Into the fire " . Could someone help me with that ? Am I right about the guy , or is it that he looks like someone else. But he is not. I mean, I THOUGHT it was Joe Lambie . But is it someone else ? I mean, I tried to look him up and I came up with a guy named Tom Butler . I mean what is up with that ? Did IMDB make a mistake ? Somebody , please , help ? Sincerely, Kate Mackay |

Please check the list to make sure your not duplicating names. If you go to the http://www.macgyveronline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3688&view=findpost&p=22986 you'll see those two names are there already. Also we are not doing cross reference to sg:1. I only want characters from MacGyver. I am not interested in who appeared in SG:1. |
Posted by: Old Fan 29 August 2007 - 04:57 PM |
Sorry about the dupes... boy, my eyes must be in worse shape than I thought, or I was really, really tired and not paying attention *slaps cold water on face to "wake up"*... Anyway, could the list be alphabetized? And... just a thought... how 'bout an actual book with all these memorable Mac facts and figures... has anyone ever considered something like that? |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 29 August 2007 - 05:47 PM |
the alphabetizing is being worked on now... and yes I have considered doing an "Offline" version of this web site in the form of a book. But I think there would be copyright issues around publication because it would then be a profitable publication, from which I'm sure Paramount would want their pound of blood. However it is something on my long list of to do's. I would hope that no-one else would just take all the information from this site and collate it into a book. That would have me severely annoyed. |

Here's the rest of the ones i found that need to be slid in the master list. I've put the ones we've already done in blue.... David Ackroyd was Lucien Trumbo in Trumbo's World & Mr Knapp in The Negotiator Terry Barclay was Simon in Murderer's Sky & Luna in The Treasure of Manco Michael Benyaer was J.D. in Blood Brothers & Sniper in Cease Fire Pat Bermel was Steve in Murderer's Sky, Marshall in Rush to Judgement & Barnes in Jerico Games Paul Bittante was a police officer in The Challenge, a security cop in The Lost Amadeus, a police officer in The Gun & a guard in There But for the Grace Ian Black was a motel clerk in The Battle of Tommy Giordano & Parnell in The Visitor David Bloom was Gil Fletcher in Fraternity of Thieves & Reynolds in The Black Corsage Alec Burden was Chairman in The Challenge & Dr Fisher in The Gun Wil Calhoun was the Deputy in Log Jam & Jesse James in MacGyver's Women Lossen Chambers was Ginny in Runners & Doreen in Live and Learn Alex Colon was General Salazar in Bushmaster & Samad in The Mountain of Youth James Crescenzo was Croce in Fire and Ice & Tom in The Battle of Tommy Giordano Tony Dakota was Tommy Giordano in The Battle of Tommy Giordano and a boy in High Control (someone mentioned this but I didn't see on the list) Martin Evans was Robert in The Odd Triple & a Maitre d' in The Coltons Merrilyn Gann was Queen in Halloween Knights & Gretta in Hearts of Steel Peter Hanlon was Ken Jackson in Easy Target & Norton in Jerico Games Ted Harrison was a driver in Easy Target & Brantley in Hearts of Steel Deryl Hayes was Joe Cross in The Outsiders & Blake in Live and Learn Beverly Hendry was Lynda in Back from the Dead & the production assistant in Blind Faith George Josef was Karel in Lost Love & a police officer in Humanity Anrew Kavadas was Dave in Ma Dalton & K-Man in Humanity Terry King was Ralph in Rush to Judgement & Bernie Green in The Gun Mitchell Kosterman was Skip in Live and Learn & Wyatt in The Coltons Pamela Martin was Nancy Bartlett in Kill Zone & a reporter in Collision Course Richard McGregor was Ron in Nightmares and Hard Rock in Gunz 'n Boyz Bill Murdoch was Jake Harril in Fraternity of Thieves & blue collar man in High Control John Novak was PR officer in Kill Zone, Max Muller in Renegade & Lyle Hoggart in The Ten Percent Solution Jonathon Pallone was Charles Keach in Fire and Ice & Cal in Rush to Judgement Mario Roberts was Tommy in The Prodigal & Brown in Silent World Alan Robertson was David Russel in The Odd Triple & Knight in Halloween Knights Pedro Salvin was the lookout in On a Wing and a Prayer, a worker in Legend of the Holy Rose prt 1 & Martine in Deep Cover Don Thompson was Cutler in Rock the Cradle & Myron in Tough Boys |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 30 August 2007 - 04:33 PM |
those are http://www.macgyveronline.com/pages/reappear.html a big thanks to MacNymph for alphabetizing this list for me. All the changes are completed and online now. |
Posted by: MacGyver 30 August 2007 - 05:19 PM |
Wow- the list looks really good! The only thing I noticed were a few minor spelling errors that might need to be looked at. (David Ackroyd is missing the "d", etc.) Also, I'm loving this "Scott J. Ateah" guy's name! I keep thinking of "The A-Team"- that's cool! |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 09:22 PM |
I've also noticed that Richard Partlow plays a pilot in both the "Pilot" episode and "The Road Not Taken" http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0663999/ |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 09:35 PM |
Also, I noticed that Richard Jamison shows up as "Ralph" in both "The Eraser" and "Back From the Dead". Somehow that never registered with me before, I guess. So I guess this makes "Ralph" a recurring character, if only for those 2 episodes. |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 09:54 PM |
Okay, got another one. J. Michael Flynn appeared as "Carlyle" in "Nightmares" and IMDB also has him listed as "Carlysle" in "Countdown" (Note slight spelling difference) Hmm- is this supposed to be the same character? |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 10:03 PM |
Karl Held appeared as Man #2 in "Deathlock" and Buyer #2 in "Silent World" (He appeared in both MacGyver episodes as Carl Held though) Erik Holland appeared as Man #1 in "Deathlock" and Head Buyer in "Silent World" Tom Maier appeared as Man #3 in "Deathlock" and Buyer #3 in "Silent World" |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 10:05 PM |
Also, Robin Pearson Rose appeared as MacGyver's landlady, Susan, in both "Flame's End" and "Countdown"- I know we're going for people playing different roles- but I was wondering if Susan is listed as a recurring character, even if only for those 2 episodes? |
Posted by: MacGyver 1 September 2007 - 10:31 PM |
Richard L. Duran appeared as Afghan Man in "To Be A Man" and as Soldier in "The Treasure of Manco" (For the latter episode, he appeared as Richard Duran, just for the record) Ted Pitsis appeared as Technician in "To Be A Man" and as Man in parking lot in "Split Decision" (Again, for the record, he appeared as Theodore Pitsis in "Split Decision") Also, this is unrelated, but I thought I'd throw this out here- I also noticed that Russell Johnson guest starred as a Federal Agent in the "Ugly Duckling" episode. It's really pretty cool to me, because he also starred as "The Professor" (Roy Hinkley) on "Gilligan's Island"- and it's fitting because MacGyver is sometimes compared to The Professor in terms of their scientific genius! Also, something else struck me about the "Ugly Duckling" episode. MacGyver helps out a girl named Kate Lafferty whose mother is Carol Lafferty. I'm sure it's probably not the case but perhaps Pat Lafferty is the father? (And it's been a while since I've seen this episode, so I can't remember if the father is mentioned at all) |
Posted by: MacGyverOnline 2 September 2007 - 12:10 AM |
no the fathers not mentioned. Those two appearances you mentioned sound like they only had background or bit parts? I don't think I'll worry about adding background type appearances on the list. But we can certainly mention them here. Might be interesting to see how many of the crew members got dragged in front of the camera on a regular bases to make a scene look busy. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 01:07 PM |
I've also found that Nick Dimitri played "Thug" in "The Eraser" and probably also a similar role in "Second Chance" |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 06:21 PM |
By the way- on the list we have Beau Billingslea listed as portraying "Obadiah Moss" in "Family Matter" IMDB lists (and of course, it MAY be wrong) him portraying "Boone" in "Family Matter", as well as "Rev. Roy Thatcher" in "Rush to Judgement" Jeffrey Josephson is listed as portraying "Obadiah Moss" Might want to double check that. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 06:53 PM |
I also noticed on the list we have Paul Batten listed as playing bit roles in various episodes. Again, I don't know if IMDB is wrong or not, but I've seen him listed on there as portraying Pettigrew in "Lost Love" (Parts 1 and 2), Walter Reese in "Early Retirement" and Clerk in "Passages". And IMDB does not list any of the episodes that are mentioned on the online list. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 07:05 PM |
Another question- Is Hakim supposed to be the same character in "Passages" and "Eye of Osiris"- given that they're portrayed by Anthony Stamboulieh both times? |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 07:21 PM |
Marcel Maillard appeared as Worker in "Blow Out" and Security Guard in "The Black Corsage" Also, as a little aside, if you ever want to see like a ton of actors and actresses who have appeared on MacGyver in one place- watch the 1989 "Who's Harry Crumb?" movie starring John Candy. In scrolling through lists of guest stars on MacGyver, I'm pretty sure I've seen at least 4 or 5 now who also appeared in this movie!!! Also, I've seen 2 or 3 show up in the 1989 TV-movie "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk" (featuring Bill Bixby as David Banner, Lou Feriggno as The Incredible Hulk, and the first ever live action appearance of Daredevil, as portrayed by Rex Smith, as well as John Rhys-Davies showing up as The Kingpin.) (Not to mention all the TONS of MacGyver people that have shown up on StarGate SG-1 - but that's a list in and of itself.) |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 07:42 PM |
This isn't exactly related, but I think it might also be worth mentioning on the Recurring Characters page- Pete Thornton's secretary, Helen Wilson. Susan Chapple portrays the character in "The Odd Triple", "The Spoilers", "Rock the Cradle", and "Cleo Rocks" and her voice is heard in "The Battle of Tommy Giordano", "Blind Faith" and "Strictly Business". |
Posted by: MacNymph 2 September 2007 - 07:45 PM
Yeah, I had those and about a dozen others. We decided that if at least one of their appearances wasn’t actually given a name ie they were “man in parking lot” or “security guard” they weren’t much more than a credited extra and we weren’t going to add them to the list unless they had more than two appearances or had a seemingly interesting role.
Same thing as above.
That’s a mistake on IMDB
I have Batten listed correctly on the pervious page. |
Posted by: MacNymph 2 September 2007 - 07:55 PM
I figured it out. I'm going to take the blame coz I was really bombarding Rocky with information. Rocky. Remember when you said you were in the P's and I said "ohhhh, but I found another B" ? Teehee. The table got goobered up. The information for Paul Bittante (was a police officer in The Challenge, a security cop in The Lost Amadeus, a police officer in The Gun & a guard in There But for the Grace) bumped the information for Paul Batten (was Pettigrew in Lost Love pt1&2 ... Walter Reese in Early Retirement & a clerk in Passages) Sooooorrry. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 07:57 PM |
Also, Pat Bermel is listed on the online list as Steve in "Murderers' Sky" and Barns in "Rush to Judgement". IMDB actually has him listed as Steve in "Murderers' Sky", Marshal in "Rush to Judgement" and Barnes in "Jerico Games" |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 08:02 PM
Okay- I'm already going through all these lists anyway, trying to doublecheck the online list- so I may just list these actors and actresses, even if they are just bit roles. You don't have to add them to the list- but it can't hurt to have them on the thread just in case anyone really wants to know! |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 08:18 PM |
Douglas Stewart appeared as Ambulance Attendant on "Blood Brothers" and Orderly on "Lesson in Evil" Also, might want to double check the list for the William Samples and Alvin Sanders entries. Alvin Sanders portrayed Ryan in "Deadly Dreams", not William Samples. That's probably just part of the mix-up already mentioned though. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 08:20 PM |
Ah- here's a named character that it seems was missed- Stephen Dimopoulos portrayed Arcade Manager Fontaine in "Deadly Dreams" and Pilot in "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2) Also, on the online list we have Peter Black listed as portraying Motel Clerk in "The Battle of Tommy Giordano" and Parnell in "The Visitor" IMDB lists the actor's name as Ian Black. Also, another for the record- Serge Houde portrayed Lawyer in "The Battle of Tommy Giordano" and French Delegate in "Humanity" Also, I noticed Suleka Matthew appears as Darlene in both "The Challenge" and "Runners" - I didn't realize that before, so there's another briefly recurring character. Again, for the record- Paul Bittante appeared as Police Officer in "The Challenge" and Security Cop in "The Lost Amadeus" and Officer in "The Gun" and Guard in "There But For the Grace". So apparently we have a nameless man who has been steadily working in law enforcement, but I don't think that quite counts as a recurring character. And Paul McLean played Security Guard in "Runners" and Security Guard in "The Gun" ... Hmm, perhaps he worked with Paul Bittante's nameless character. |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 08:51 PM |
I also noticed Darcia Carnie appeared as Veronica in "Renegade" and again as Veronica in "The Ten Percent Solution"- I'm guessing that just has to be coincidence, right? Is Veronica meant to be the same character here? And Kevin Hayes shows up as a newscaster in "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2), Reporter in "The Madonna", Newscaster in "Jenny's Chance" and a specifically named Reporter- Vince King, in both "Jerico Games" and "Blind Faith". Does that mean we also have a recurring reporter, Vince King, that MacGyver gets his news from? |
Posted by: MacGyver 2 September 2007 - 09:55 PM |
Another one for the books- Ron Halder appeared as Auctioneer in "The Ten Percent Solution" and Cop in "Blind Faith" Brock Johnson appeared as Punk #1 in "The Madonna" and as Store Manager in "Squeeze Play" (well, that's a nice step up anyway) IMDB also apparently has an interesting interpretation on "The Madonna" episode- Jeanette Nolan is listed as guest starring as Carol/demonic impersonator??? Um- I think the writers were going for the other end of the spiritual realm- try angel! (I also like that Dana Elcar is listed as Pete Thornton/Santa Claus for this episode- I guess in case you weren't paying attention to the episode in the part where Cynthia specifically asks Pete to play the role of Santa Claus. I mean- I guess it's good to know for those who haven't seen the episode yet- but it still sounds funny to list Dana Elcar as Santa Claus, implying that he appeared as the "real" Santa Claus or something...) And David Symons appeared as Bailiff in "Rush to Judgement" and Policeman #1 in "Bitter Harvest" |
Posted by: MacGyver 3 September 2007 - 06:29 AM |
Yet another observation- John Hostetter appeared as Sgt. Rudley Lee in "The 'Hood" and in "Walking Dead"- so it would seem we have another briefly recurring police officer role. |
Posted by: MacGyver 3 September 2007 - 01:41 PM |
Okay, I have finished going through every episode of MacGyver on IMDB, as well as the two TV-movies and even the "Young MacGyver" pilot just for fun. So, as near as I can tell, this completes the list of people who have appeared more than once in different roles, even if they are just bit parts. (Of course, there could always be others that were uncredited that haven't been listed on IMDB yet) Anyway, in conclusion, after going through all this I learned that- MANY actors and actresses from MacGyver also appeared in such shows as- Canadian productions- "Neon Rider" (never heard of before- and I don't think it has anything to do with "Knight Rider") or "Mom P.I." (I'm guessing a female take on "Magnum, P.I."- never heard of this one either) and "The Beachcombers" (classic Canadian show- used to watch this one some as a kid)- and "Danger Bay" (have heard of before- used to watch this A LOT as a child- great rocking theme song!) You might also very likely find them in productions of "Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" (apparently a 1991 live action version- I've only seen the '70s cartoon) as well as the 1989 "hit" movie "Lobster Man from Mars" One would also be very likely to spot them in the 1989 TV-movie "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk" and the 1990 follow-up TV-movie "The Death of the Incredible Hulk" Classic TV show spin-off movies seems to be the trend, as a number of them also appeared in the 1991 TV-movie "I Still Dream of Jeannie" or the 1993 TV-movie "The Odd Couple: Together Again" Also- an overwhelming number of them appeared in the 1989 John Candy movie "Who's Harry Crumb?" and a good number in "The Fly II" A handful of them were also in the 1989 movie "We're No Angels" and the 1987 TV-movie "The Return of the Shaggy Dog" and a 1990 TV-movie called "Sky High" and the 1991 movie "Mystery Date" A lot of them also had the tendency to voice cartoon characters, such as those on anime shows like Ranma 1/2 or '80s classics- G.I. Joe or Captain N and the Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 There is also a good probability of seeing them on such shows as Hunter, Wiseguy, Street Justice, Hawkeye, Airwolf and Quantum Leap. There's also a very good probability that the person was also involved in Star Trek at some level, whether in the movies or one of the series- most likely Star Trek: The Next Generation, but also Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. (And even a few from Star Trek- The Original Series) And I spotted a few that appeared in the Star Wars prequels and a couple who were also in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. And there's also seems to be a good likelihood of seeing them later on in such shows as Smallville and short-lived favorite of mine, The Hat Squad. Some had very long careers and some basically have no career beyong their quick 15 minutes of fame on MacGyver. (Well, no acting career, that is) Some people started their careers with MacGyver and some ended them on MacGyver. Interestingly, some people have also shown up in other movies with the same name as a MacGyver episode like "Passages" or "The Widowmaker" Above all, the main thing I learned is that even if you showed up as a bum on the street for 2 seconds in just one MacGyver episode, most likely you were offered a guest starring role on StarGate SG-1 or StarGate: Atlantis some time down the road! |
