I had a problem with ants & spiders sneaking into the bathroom. I have a gap about 3/8" wide under my bathroom sink where ants & spiders love to sneak through. One day I almost put my toe into a black widow's web with a female black widow sitting there. I found an easy solution using only duct tape and a small block of wood.

1. Wrap the duct tape around the block of wood so it goes one full 360° around the wood.
2. Double back the other way and have the tape stick to itself.
3. I have a bath mat in front of my sink so I stuck the block of wood to the mat, cutting off any chance of ants getting through.

By putting the tape at the end by the hole, any sneaky buggers get stuck trying to get through. It's an old bath mat that i just use to keep my toes from getting cold so it doesn't matter if the block is stuck to it and I hand wash the floor under the mat. Simple yet effective.

I'm in Western Canada, we get black widows constantly. One night I was working security at an old winery being torn down and relocated and came across a nest of at least 50 black widow spiders. I've had only 4 downstairs in my suite, one behind the toilet.

I've lived in my current house for almost 2 years now. I moved in in the summer of 2016. If this summer is just like the last two, I'll be sleeping on the couch for a few nights, because some mother spider decided to lay her eggs on my ceiling again. dry.gif
