The appeal of the 1985 MacGyver is he was one man, NOT a team. He didn't use guns and everyone around is using guns. When Richard Dean Anderson was in trouble, I was never on the edge of my seat because I knew how MacGyver thinks and how he can get out of everything, the question was always how not if. The new series is more of an If. He doesn't give us the confidence. It's not a bad show, but it not MacGyver. Not a true reboot.
