| What a nice topic. Today I slept way too long and I was pretty much all day alone with my son. He's very loud and sometimes his crying hurts my ears a lot, but most of the time he's such a charmer. So after I woke up, made some coffee, checked my mail and changed few diapers and called my mom. She was expecting me to join her in gym, but I told her I couldn't since I was with the baby all day. So I turned the tv on and started watching MacGyver season 4 with my boy. Rest of the family were riding the horses today. Later on, I had to order pizza, since I couldn't find the time to make food today, so what did I have. Salami, jalapenos, pineapple, bacon and pepperoni sausage. |

| Can I complain? XD Kidding... lol Uhm, not much right now. Just finishing up dinner (coconut almond granola w/ almond milk) and I'm about to meet one of my friends on Xbox Live. Had a great time visiting my Dad in New York. Though, I came home to a bad stink in my apartment. According to my landlady, there was a power outage on Friday, which caused my fridge to conk out. We're not sure if the thawed food shorted it out, or if it just never came back on, but it was off for several days until I came home. God, what a mess. The fridge is working fine now, but I had to throw away everything in it... thankfully, there wasn't a lot. Besides that, I got nada in the excitement department. OH! Here are some pics I took when we went to Madrid, NY. On Monday, it will officially be Spring in south Africa but as luck would have it, today is a COLD day. Windy and snowing in some parts. So the weekend looks pretty grim. Still, hoping to visit some family and take it easy. Other news? Anyone else noticing the crazy news about the Ebola outbreak? Sheesh! I hope they find a cure with the trial tests of the new anti viral starting next week. |

I don't want to even think about what a mess my apartment might be at the moment. Haven't been there in two months. Well we'll see in couple of weeks when I go back there. Gonna be quite a cleaning work.
Oh yeah. Quite scary. let's hope it doesn't spread to be pandemic Tomorrow here will be a kind of annual country fair. There's gonna be some music artists, ponies for kids to ride, stales where you can buy some traditional food and handmade stuff etc. our neighbor used to make fireworks there every year but i doubt there'll be any fireworks this year since my neighbor has retired. And after that I'm gonna see a friend and we'll skype to our mutual friend who's living in Columbia at the moment. |

My son is 3 months old. Other 4 are all girls, oldest daughter is 10 years old, then 8 years old, 6 years old and 2 years old. Sometimes I wish I had more hands  |

This doesn't look like a great Saturday for me, it's rainy and my plans are only to go see my husband at the hospital, the weekly shopping and some housework. i can imagine! Try to see the bright sides people Harry you're at work all weekend but you get money from that and then you can go home and have a good time with your wife and children. cmbj I hope your husband is ok. Maybe you could buy something nice for you when you go to shopping to make a day a little better and at least you can see your husband at the hospital and make the best out of it Hope you guys have better day tomorrow. Well my day also didn't go as planned. Didn't see my friend as she was too busy and next week I'm going back to my apartment which means I won't be able to see any of my friends probably until christmas. But tomorrow I'll go to Stockholm cruise with my mom. something to look forward to. |

Oh yeah, I remember those. I'm not sure if the Mega ones are the same thing or not. I use to be a big fan of the rice crispy kind, but they don't sell them in north america anymore, just everywhere else. In their place we got pretzel m&ms, which actually taste more like a cookie than a pretzel. Anyone here ever had to rent a storage unit to store their stuff? It sucks trying to live out of one of those. Well, not live *in* it, just having to go there for every darn thing you happen to need. Today another renter was showing me where water leaked into the building and ruined some of their stuff. On top of that some idiot has put moth balls in their unit somewhere in the building and the whole place stinks. I need to find another facility before my things wind up damaged or reeking of chemicals.  |

Survived the weekend. I don't often do long days, so I was really tired.. I tried to watch MacGyver after work, but fell asleep after few minutes. Now I'm trying to fill the customs papers, since ordered few SAK's from USA. I'm still missing few SAK from my MacGyver collection and it's actually hard to complete it when sellers refuse to send over sea. Other times I might find the right item and seller but the condition is poor . It's a quest and I don't see end to it anytime soon  |

| Harry did you try ebay? they send all over the world often with free shipping. I've been thinking about buying a new SAK also but still don't know. I't would be cool to actually have a real victorinox SAK but do I need one as my current knife usually gets the job done. On the other hand would it be that bad to have two SAK especially when the one I have doesn't include some items that any real SAK would have and I didn't buy it I found it from our cabin. Well it's officially autumn now and my school will start next week. Tomorrow I'll be heading to my apartment and since I now have a single apartment I can take my dog with me. God I'm so nervous! Last time I travelled with Leevi in a train was when Leevi was still a puppy and that time there wasn't any other pets in the same wagon. I doubt he remembers anything about it and I have absolutely no idea how he'll react and it's 5 hours train travel. And after that 8 km walk to my place with 3 luggage and a dog. Might be that I also have to carry Leevi if he gets too tired but I'm positive he can walk. And that's only for the journey. Then there's the whole living alone in a new place thing. I've never actually lived alone before. I've always have flatmates. Now I'll be alone and I'm a bit worried about how lonely it will be. I hope my dog will make it a little bit easier. But then I'm also worried about how my dog will manage. He has lived in a big family house all his life and now I'll take him to a student flat. It won't be permanent as we'll still visit my parents every month and then Leevi can stay with them if he wants to or come back to my place if he wants to. And with me he mostly only has to be 3 hours alone per day and with my parents he always has to be 8 hours minimum alone per day. I just hope he wont bark so much that my neighbors start to complain and that he won't destroy my flat while i'm at uni. |

Yes, the search is part of the fun, but definitely a challenge, because of so many retired models. I'm collecting these for a MacGyver display set and not to be used in everyday life. I have other SAK's that I use for different daily tasks. If I were to buy one, I would get a Leatherman or Swiss multitool. What I have heard RDA collects SAK's also and has been using multitools like Leatherman often. I remember RDA saying in some video that he used to take SAK's from a filming set  |

| I think the coolest SAK I ever bought was one I bought for my sister. It's a basic model, so it's one of the small ones, but it has a flash drive. She loves it because she's got all the basic tools, plus the flash drive, which she uses for work. I believe that modern MacGyver would have a flash drive on his SAK. XD Am I right? In other news... I managed to drag my butt out of bed before noon! GO ME! |

| Today I heard horrible news about my cousin. Some skinhead attacked and stabbed him multiple times in front of restaurant. He's now in intensive care unit and has been operated. I haven't heard any details of this case yet or if the police caught the guy. |

| That's horrific news, Harry. Here's hoping that perpetrators are apprehended and a speedy recovery to your cousin! I attended the Atlantic International Balloon Festival this weekend. Several flights were cancelled due to (not so) high winds. Above 16-18km/hr and they won't fly. Anyway, get some great photos. Here's one that's very MacGyver appropriate. My phone has officially gone crazy! It claims that today is Sunday 6th of January 1980  I reset the time but every time i have to restart my phone it goes back to that same day. Of course my phone didn't exist back at 80's heck I didn't even exist back at 80's and even MacGyver hadn't come out for 5 years yet. What's so special in 6th of January 1980 that my phone can't get over it? Maybe my 80's enthusiasm is a bit contagious |

| At the moment it's not yet sure if he'll live and if he does, what kind of life will it be. The internal damages are serious. This is the second time he faces something terrible in few years. Not a long ago he was in motorcycle accident, the other guy in is in wheelchair for the rest of his life, but cousin survived without major damages. |

Once I move back to NY, I'm going to visit my friend in Minnesota for a short while. I almost moved there last year, but my family fought me on it. I stayed in Kentucky, and I've hated it here. So I'm just going to visit instead, see what it's like there. My friend is bribing me with promises of taking me to Minneapolis and Mall of America. That will be a hoot. lol I can also practice my photography while I'm there. |

I still need Wenger handyman with chain, original Victorinox golfer and Standard old Spartan. Then I can review and show each one of them.  |

I'll make Macgyver SAK collection thread later on. I have bought quite many Sak's in 5-6 weeks, from Singapore, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, USA, Finland. Some super rare prototypes or chinese copies haven't found, but otherwise I think I have most of them. I wish I had more knowledge about Victorinox and Wenger models, but I'm learning, sakwiki is really good. Later on I wanna read Swiss army knife collector's companion book. Old research on this site and tips from members has been very helpful. |

| Thats great, Mate. Im nowhere near your caliber in collections but plan to get another SAK later this year. Maybe a Spartan or a Spartan Lite.will have to see though. At the moment I have the Tinker small, Pioneer, Huntsman & a very large Wenger with almost every tool on it. (Not sure what the model is). |

My school day started in 8:30 in morning and ended about 11:00 before mid day. Yesterday I had same thing  Our School timetable changes pretty much but not all the time and next monday we dont have any lessons, because someone cancelled those lessons from monday already But one day I was pissed off when I was had to go bicycling in evening before the dark, and then I noticed that the new replaced rear tire was flat..arrrghh  Weird thing was that the hole was on the innertube seam and even on upside, not on downside which touches the ground. Then I fixed the hole and the bike standed in back yard about one week until I found that the air couldn't stay in and it was flat again. |

| Sorry to hear. Sounds like my kind of luck. Just last week i was driving my car home when somebody decided to jump across the diagonal road ahead of me without waiting for me to pass. Head on collision and my car is a write off. Oh, and now the guy has some strange impression that the accident was my fault. Uh huh. |

| MiracleMac I so know the feeling I've got some kind of curse with bikes. I go everywhere with bike and cycle all year round despite the weather. I'm the only one in our family who cycle so I take the bike that happens to work at that moment. And I ALWAYS manage to break them! It's ridiculous! Just go to the nearby store and come back with a flat tire. When I moved to my own place I took my father's bike with me as my own one was broken (again). It's 30 years old and it never had got even flat tire until I took it. Since then.. well I somehow manage to get the flat tire while cycling to work, its seat got stabbed while I was at school and someone kicked the rim broken while I was out of town. Well I fixed it and still cycle with it every day of the year. And it's the best bike ever had even though it's old and all rusty and the gears, breaks and lock get frozen every winter. I got my window repaired today. It was already broken when I moved in and yesterday the maintenance send me a message that he's going to fix it at morning. He didn't, however, tell me at what time of the morning and he had the keys so he didn't need me to open the door for him. The broken window was my bedrooms window and since I had no idea at what time he might be coming I was afraid he'd come while I'm still sleeping. So I set the alarm clock early but I was so stressed out that I only fall asleep AFTER my alarm had gone off. Luckily the guy rang the doorbell before coming in so I had time to get some decent to wear and take my dog before he'd attack the in coming stranger. Would have been quite perfect start to day to wake up with two strange man at your bedside and dog biting a repairman Oh and they also fixed my door. I didn't even know it was broken. |

| Denizen, dangerous stuff! 'Car' bodies can be repaired - 'human' bodies not as easily. Hope all is well with you and that no injuries were sustained. Went whale watching yesterday out of the town in which RDA's pal Paul Watson grew up and where he formed the seeds of his environmental activist values. Really incredible to be hanging with the whales and especially the Finbacks , the second largest animal on the planet. When they surface, you can hear their blow from half a mile away. What bicycle you have? I have Mongoose Tyax Mountainbike and I love that theres havent been any problems with that bike since 2008 when I got that, than this rear tire problem. But I think that my dad bought regular innertube for the rear tire, not the mountainbike innertubes, which is much stronger. The front tire which is still the original factory, still stands the bumps and rocks whereever I've been driven, but the reason why the rear tire broke down wasn't that the tire blew, it was because the tire valve was leaking. So all in all there wasn't any cracks in original rear innertube, pretty strong. But what I also love that theres text on body which says, made in USA  |

I don't think Mongoose has been made in the US for a loooong time. China now, and you can buy them at Walmart, which is an indicator of their current quality. I also ride year round, I don't have a complete bike at the moment, but I'm working on it. I've even rode down snow covered ski slopes on a bike, although that doesn't work so well, you tend to loose control at a certain point. I'm generally am rough on back rims, bars and grips. |

| I have a basic finnish Helkama Matkatar from 1983. Not a fancy bike but it mostly works and if someone would steal it or break it to unfixable, well it would be about time to get a new bike anyway . I bought a winter tire to my bike after I got bored with falling so snow and ice won't bother me anymore, but cold does. It's just pure pain to cycle in -30ºC but I have to do it anyway as I have to get to school somehow. I just don't enjoy it. |

Walmart just sells those cheap units, but I think USA still made some of those high end units back in 2008, when I got mine. Actually my bicycle was only Mongoose in the bike store. |

| Today when I was walking with may dog a hunting dog attacked my dog. He was glaring my dog already when we were approaching so we changed the direction so that we wouldn't have to pass him but the dog got loose from his owner and attacked. Luckily I managed to pick Leevi up before the other dog could get his teeth on him. The other dog was already on him so it was the only way to save my dog, but then the dog started jumping against me trying to get Leevi from my arms. I turned around so that he couldn't even see my dog and kept Leevi safe in my arms but the other dog just kept jumping and scratching my back until the owner finally came to take his dog away. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Leevi didn't get hurt and was his own happy self when we got back home so not any big emotional trauma either. But I'm so pissed off. This is not the first time and probably not the last time someone attacks him. I have always manage to save him in the end one way or the other, but I'm afraid that someday I might not be fast enough. I wonder do those dog owners even know how dangerous their dog can be if they don't train them nor learn to read their body language. A little while ago a friend of mine had a similar case. She has a same kind of dog I have and another dog attacked her dog near at their home when they'd just got out. She wasn't so lucky. Her dog ended up with broken ribs and a punctured lung. He did survive though, but with major emotional trauma. And in one case a small dog got bitten to death in it's owners arms. Having a pet comes with responsibility, not only for the pets well being but also for its behavior and it doesn't matter is it a small dog or a large dog you have to be able to read your own pets body language and know what's going on in your dogs mind. And if people can't do that they'll only create fear and hate toward their dogs. If a huge dog attacks a small one it takes just one well aimed bite and the small one is dead. In this case today the owner wasn't even sorry for his dogs behavior. He just laughed.  |

| Duckt tape I'm sorry for what happened. Some dog owners really shouldn't have a dog. At least he could have pretended he was sorry instead of laughing! My mother had a similar experience some time ago, she had to lift her dog to avoid an attack. I'm glad you managed to save your dog. |

Dogs may be dangerous(there are not always 'good people' as R.D.Anderson says) but it's their 'master's' fault. | oh I'm totally with you in that one tvero. I like all dogs more than I like most people. There's just so many people who don't have any idea about how to handle their own dog and it shows in their dogs behaviour but those people just don't care. Well to make this thread a little more positive tell us what good happened to you today. I'm sure everyone can think of something. What I was actually going to show you folks before that dog attack took me of the track was this sunset. I was at the walk with my dog and we walked through a forest and ended up to a lake and there was such beautiful sunset. Little everyday things like that always makes you appreciate life and nature We often make that same walk and it's always as beautiful but this time I actually had camera (=phone) with me and was able to take a pic. |

Okay, that's good news considering the potentials of those happenings. We call them 'creepers'. That is, those that creep or inch forward at intersections and in the hopes that they might save a second or two with some (dangerous) interplay of the brake and gas peddle ... when they should be at a complete stop until it's their turn to enter the intersection. These are almost always complete asses who would put a fellow motorist's life in danger to shave 30 seconds off their travel time. I always tell the kids just learning to drive to watch the front wheel of any car waiting at a crossroads or intersection for movement of any kind. Movement or inching means they(the vehicle doing the creeping) could potentially bolt at you at any time and to slow down (accordingly) should you notice this kind of vehicular behaviour. |

Thanks Joe. Yes. Bad indeed. My wife always asks me if I think she is a good driver. I keep telling her of course but she is not the problem. It's the ESP you have to attain against other drivers. But driving for so many years, your guard is sometimes dropped and you don't expect it. Also found out that the other driver did not have insurance. Hence the reason he attempted to call me to shift the blame. Good news though is that it is over and now I'm looking t buy a car. Duckt tape, a Jeep is my DREAM CAR but at a 4l engine and the distance I travel it ain't such a good idea. |

Why yes, it so happens I can tell you about Caliburs. :-) My sister owns one, has had it for slightly over three years now. The first thing I noticed was it's much touted "seemless" shifting transmission is not so seemless. In fact you can feel/hear it shift the same as any other car. That's not big deal on it's own, neither is the terrible stereo which sounds like you're listing to the music from the other side of a wall, but you'll kinda wish you had a good stereo to drown out the road noise, howling tires, and hammering suspension noises. Now I don't mind the roar of an engine and all of my cars have had custom high performance (loud) exhaust, but the racket this car makes isn't the kind you get excited about. It's annoying. Also annoying is how rough it rides and how it beats you up badly on long rides, especially if you're unfortunate enough to be sitting in the back seat. When you hit bumps, even light bumps, it sounds like jackhammers under the car, you feel it, and it is LOUD. You'd swear something was terribly wrong and about to break, but other people tell me theirs is the same way. They also make mysterious and alarming sounds in the front end at times that no one can figure out. Currently my sister's car makes frequent hard clunks, for which the dealer has no clue. I honestly don't understand how people could test drive this car and still want to buy it. Do they think awful rough ride will somehow improve over time? If you do buy this car, invest in a seat pad and an aftermaket stereo to drowned out the noise. Sorry for the rant. |

| Not a all, Wheeljack. Thanks for the awesome feedback. Yup I have read up about the noise and the uncomfortable experience, especially over a long drive. I have also taken the Caliber for a test drive. I cannot say I experienced this. Maybe because of the model I drove? I am assuming whether you have the 2.4l or 2l or even the 1.8l might make a difference also due to the different customizations that the car improves upon. (Slight, I know, but its there). My concern lies with the service expenses. And parts availability. Now that they have discontinued it, it might not pose a problem now, but definitely in the near future. |

| They may have made some changes in the model year between what you drove and what my sister has, but I assure you her care rode worse than a farm wagon from day one, it's not just wear and tear. I think the fact they've been discontinued so fast is telling. As far as parts, I wouldn't worry that much, it very likely shares parts from other Chrysler vehicles - engine and a bunch of other junk - but I havn't researched it so I can't say for certain. I know the (dodge) engine and transmission in what I'm driving right now was used in tons of other models. |

| I'm amazed that people outside the US will buy US made cars, surprised that they're even sold in your countries for that matter. Over the years I've come to feel that US cars are a little behind in design, fit & finish. That being said, there are still a few I like. denizen, I take it you think the 4L Jeep engine would guzzle fuel? I use to own a 8.2L Cadillac, the largest engine ever put in a production car. It was going into my Chevy truck, but I couldn't afford to build it how I wanted at the time. Don't know what it would get for economy, I planned to drive it every day, though. |

| jeep is my dream car also, surprise surprise But I don't know much anything about cars so can't help you out there Well today was a day full of surprises. My granny called me. She never ever calls me. She hardly talks to me when we see each other and I've always thought that ether she just doesn't like me because I'm a girl or she just doesn't give a crap. And now she called just to make sure I'm ok. It felt kinda nice. A little weird but nice. I've always dreamed of having that kind of normal open relationship with grandparents that people usually seems to have. Spend time with them, talk with them, being able to be yourself with them and actually having a good time without being afraid. Well that probably won't ever happen but... this was somewhat special. She called and we talked about weather and school and my dog and it wasn't totally awkward. Second surprise: I got a packet from post that I wasn't expecting for at least a month yet. And I surprised myself by wearing heel boots willingly without a reason. I even cycled with them and walked in public with them (I hate heels and have wear them maybe 5 times in my whole life) |

| My 2 cents on the "appropriate" car debate: I can totally understand families buying vans in order to have enough space. I don't know about America, but here in Europe, most manufacturers have got different vans of various sizes to choose from, not just the typical American "A-Team"-style van. I never understood why people living in cities need SUVs or Jeeps of any kind. Sure, they argue that you can see much better from the elevated seating position, but come on: almost every other car is a SUV, so that advantage isn't really there any longer. Considering their economic specs of the real big ones (Porsche, BMW, VW, Audi - oops, all German....), these things are a disaster and I'm not even thinking about all the carbon dioxide they produce. Families with small children should think about their kids' future. Friends of ours want to buy a BMW X3 now. What for? They don't live in the country, it's too huge to find appropriate parking spaces for it (here in Germany, parking bays still date from a time, when cars were smaller) and the trunk is too small for a car of that size. But they think of it as a kind of status symbol. An "ordinary" station wagon isn't sth. an engineer and doctor should be seen in. I remember a neighbor with a VW Touareg, with a trunk so small you couldn't even fit a kennel for two large dogs into it. Mac drove a Jeep because he considered it a tool, a machine to use. It fit his lifestyle, was rugged, durable (unless he crashed it) and made to conquer rough terrain. And he didn't mind the odd dent. The funnies thing is: people driving large Jeeps and its knock-offs look down their noses at you for wearing cowboy boots in the city! |

When it comes time to get a new car (fairly soon), I'm looking to get either the Wrangler or the Dodge Dart. I'm gonna miss having my truck because it's BIG and heavy. It sucks gas and is a rust bucket, but... its never failed. In the job dept, I've been doing mostly temp work. I LOVE my current job right now because I can just walk there. Not only does it take less then five minutes to walk there, but it's fall now so the weather is perfect for it. In other news, it looks like I might be moving... yet again. lol But, we'll see this time. I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch just yet. |

Right now I'm doing office work... organizing (because I have serious OCD about things being in order), filing, coding tickets and data entry. My teller experience came in handy in that one. XD My apartment is currently a wreck right now though... normally it's spotless.  If things continue to work out, I may be moving to Pennsylvania. I have other family there, and my Dad is hopefully moving there next year (it's his home state). It also helps that I actually have a friend in PA as well. But until I know for sure when and if my Dad is moving will depend on when and if I move. Right now, I'm just waiting to hear news from him. *keeps fingers crossed* >_< |

The US also has minivans. Those were all the popular choice before the trendy thing became SUVs. Why do they buy SUVs for the most part? Because everyone one else is and they have to copy. In short, because they are dumb and can't think for themself. Actually the SUV thing is passing and on the way out, but stay turn for the next brainless trend. Yes, there's little point in owning one in the city. I've known people that never even used four wheel drive during the entire time they own one.I have a minivan at the moment, I like being able to haul things, and keep what I'm hauling out of the weather. All of my dream cars would be custom built by me, there is no factory car I have the slightest interest in. My dream Jeep-type vehicle would be a 1967 Chevy pickup. I've been in love with that truck since forever, almost bought one once. |

If you never so much as engage the four wheel drive and the tires never see a speck of dirt or mud.... well, makes as much sense as owning golf cleats when you don't play golf. Also would like to note that yes, I do realize I often type in the wrong words in a sentence. I try to correct it, but often overlook what should be obvious. I've had this my entire life although have never thought to look into why until just recently. I believe that it may be some type of dyslexia, but don't know yet. | Oh please Wheeljack if you want to see bad spelling just look at any of my writings I won't even know when I'm making mistakes. But this isn't an English exam just chatting with nice people. and there are lots of people from different countries with different linguistic backgrounds so no one is going to point a finger if someone makes some SPaG errors. So don't worry speaking of which. I'm having a major language problem here. Named Swedish. If I ever want to graduate I should complete an academic Swedish course so that I would be able to talk about linguistics in Swedish. yeah right. I'm not even able to talk about linguistics in Finnish and all I can say in Swedish at the moment is a train announcement. I haven't used Swedish in what 5 years and I've forgotten almost all of it. Heck I know more Spanish at the moment. I think I might even know more Chinese than I know Swedish at the moment. And I have approximately 6 months time to relearn it. Without a teacher or anyone with whom I'd be able to practice it. So I was thinking that as using the language is the best way of learning the language I could try to translate my fanfcis in Swedish or maybe write new more simple fics in Swedish. Does anyone have any idea about do they use dubbing or subtitles in Swedish television? Or where I could find it out? 'Cos if they use subtitles like they do here then there's no much point in translating the fics.. or I can translate them just for practice but there's no point in publishing them. |

| Well thanks guys. I guess I'm more conscientious now after learning about other factors going on. I started researching why I get left and right confused all the time, which turned into uncovering info about a lot of other quirks I was aware of, but never realized were interconnected. Examples of the other issues, I have to write down almost everything people tell me or I will forget it, I mean like seconds after they've said it. For that matter I have to write notes to myself all the time. I have extreme difficulty with numbers, like today it took me three tries to dial a phone number even though I'm looking right at it on a screen. I get all the numbers mixed up. I have memory problems in general and it's lead to some embarrassing moments, like being on a date and suddenly forgetting where we're driving, or the topic of the conversation just vanishing from my mind in mid sentence, leaving me sitting there silent, searching for what we were just talking about. I try to be upfront about it so they don't just think I'm bonkers when it happens, some have been understanding, others not. I'm going to have testing done and see if my condition has a name, although I'm already reasonably sure there is no treatment or cure. It's not an intelligence thing, I can carry high level conversations with very smart people, it's something else entirely. Nevertheless, I was pretty bummed out for several days after researching it. |

| Sounds to me like you are under some stress, have a lot on your mind, and self conscious over what people think of you. We all forget things at times. Just the other day I attempted to make a cup of tea by filling the mug with soda instead of boiling water?! Then I found my socks in the fridge?! (Still don't think that was me though) My point is when you have a million things on your mind, you do the weirdest stuff or go completely blank. As for being self conscious, one thing MacGyver taught us was to be ourselves. And in this community that is all we ask. We like you just the way you are Mate! You don't have to impress us! |

Ouch! How did the clothes turn out? Let's hope you discovered the mix-up before you put on the washing machine!  About the language: Here in Norway TV shows have subtitles. My guess is that Swedish TV has subtitles as well. You can ask Mol member Kangelane. Swedish differs a lot from Finnsih. However, if you know how to speak Chinese it shouldn't be too hard to learn. @Wheeljack: It's like the others say, we all get confused sometimes. Getting left and right mixed up is perfectly normal. I like to go line dancing and even the instructors make left/right mistakes. It happens all the time. I, for example, have some trouble to orientate. When I go to new places, I have to pay extra attention to the surroundings or else I get lost. I come from a smallish town so you can imagine what it was like when I moved to the city to study. I thought I would never be able to go outside without a streetmap. Worrying makes everything worse. Lol! I just realized I spelled Finnish as Finnsih |

| I appreciate all the nice words. It's a little more than simply stress, though. I can handle stress better than most folks (and have sense enough to walk away when it's too much), and I don't worry much about what others think of me, so it isn't that either. I am just myself at all times, I don't even know how not to be, being fake or pretending to put on charm and phony smiles isn't something I can do. Usually I don't get mixed up with cooking or projects I'm working on. I have put a box of cereal in the fridge once, but that's about as crazy as it's gotten. I am under more stress lately, that much is true. I left my house back in the spring and have been staying with others for temporary until I can buy my own place (hopefully SOON!!!) and it's not easy for me to be in hectic environments, the noise and being around others constantly after being use to living alone. |

I have a few 8"x10"s and a wood sculpted Grumman Goose airplane painted like the one he flew on the show, Cutter's Goose, but after learning of his lewd acts I'm going to be throwing away all of it. There are certain aspects of any actor's life that I don't agree with, but I'm able to look past it and still enjoy their body of work. On Tuesday, a tape emerged which according to TMZ, which obtained it, the recording featured Collins, in a therapy session during which he admitted to having molested at least three children. So, I think that keeping on an even keel is important and also a good diet with lots of fruits, veggies and water. Actually that has also happened to both me and my mother. Or not exactly, we do remember our names but.. well in my case I was thinking about my brother when phone rang so when I answered the phone I started saying my brother's name instead of my own. Good thing that our name starts with the same syllable so the person who called never noticed that I changed the name in middle sentence he just thought I was stammering And in my mother case well she was very nervous and calling someone so when she introduced herself she accidentally said the name of the person who she was calling to instead of her own

I say that in quotes because most of my things are in a storage unit, so it's not a huge task, but I'm not one to move from place to place often, I usually live in an area for many years, so this is very odd for me. It's going to be my very last move before I start on my house, though, in fact I'm going to be building it on the same property as the place I'm going to be staying. Kinda excited, my friends there are the most awesome people in the world. Also working on downsizing, getting ride of material stuff that I rarely ever use, my house will be quite small and I don't want it packed like a rat's nest. 1/3rd less is my goal right now. It's the stuff with sentimental that's hard to let go, but really what good is an item that lays in a box for five or ten years, only so you can pull it out and say to yourself Hey, I remember such and such for minute or two, then back it goes in the box to sit for years again. I want to live and be happy in the now, not cling to times long gone. |

The remote control part is not too difficult to catch on to but controlling the camera direction/pitch and other functioning in tight quarters and rapidly changing lighting conditions - is a much steeper learning curve. | We use to have season tickets for the Buffalo Sabres and that lake-effect snow seemed to go on all winter long. Crazy. Nothing like this record & recent pileup but there would be no or little snow in Toronto (to the north) and then you would drive south a few hours and - bam - run into this perpetual snowstorm. And they are worried about a lot more roofs collapsing as it all starts to thaw out this weekend. |

| That was very great video Joe. I have also filmed that kind of landscape videos, but on the ground with my nikon cameras. I bought my first camcorder about month ago, this Canon HF G30. Manual controls, lenshood, focus/zoom ring, tilting viewfinder with big eye cup, two accessory shoes, mic and headphone sockets, north-south zoom rocker all those good stuff. The built in mic even makes also very high quality sound. Sony released also similar size handycam the CX900 with same kind of features. I love it |

But I'm not sure which road to travel: Should I go more into Mac's direction, keep an eye open for a Chevignon bomber (I'm currently wearing the jacket in my avatar, which is not a Chevignon) and get some lace-up boots similar to Redwing's Beckman? Or get a new pair of biker/cowboy boots and a longer leather coat or stick with my Barbour (which is starting to break down)? I usually wear jeans, khakis, shirts and polos - these would go along with any shoe/jacket combination. Advantage of the first option is, that I wouldn't need a second pair of shoes during vacations in warmer climates, as I could wear the Beckmans with shorts, unlike the other boots. |

We welcomed 2015 together, she's 78 y.o. but still strong (and with better memory than mine), and since she lives alone we decided to go there with her. It was good. | I assume that my post was deleted due to forum error and not because it was somehow inappropriate so I'm gonna post it again. I have a new hobby I've always loved ice skating and wanted to try figure skating but to be professional figure skater I should have started serious training as a 3 year old. Well I probably did start skating when I was 3 but it has always been just winter fun on a lake. But now I've found figure skating school for adults! Now I go skating 3 times a week. At the moment I'm about as talented as a 4 year old I only know the basics go forward, go backwards and some simple glides. But I'm so psyched! It's a dream come true Last time I was able to stay a bit longer on the ice after the lesson. That feeling when I'm alone in the empty hall just me, music and ice.. it's just so amazing I'd almost forgot how much I really love skating.Other good news: I've got my first knitting order! I can't believe it! Someone actually appreciates my knitting so much she's willing to pay for it. She saw on Facebook the socks I made for my father for Christmas and asked me if I could make similar ones to her husband. I might never be as good with drawing, writing and music as I'd liked to but at least I can knit Now the only problem is that I think too much about the value of my work. Because I get payed I want it to be perfect so that the buyer wouldn't think that she's wasting her money. But it's handmade! There's no such thing as a perfect handmade cos there's no such thing as a perfect human. There will always be some little mistakes. I try to keep in mind that the buyer is also a knitter so she knows what it takes to make what she's asking for and she wouldn't buy from me if she could knit the same thing by herself so she obviously appreciates my work. And I've already made those socks once, she'd seen them and asked for similar ones, so all I have to do is repeat the process. But I'm too nervous and lost all the confidence. It feels like I've lost all my talent. It's just made by ME. I mean.. I'm not professional why would anyone pay for something I make? Is it fair to take the money if it's not perfect? |

Home made can't be perfect you say? Well I'm glad you think so because I'm a perfectionist and have never been able to convince myself of that! I'm not that way towards others, but when I feel something I've made isn't up to par it often gets thrown away and I start over. There's been so many art projects and things I've built over the years that may have been fine looking to others, but I didn't feel they were was as good as they could be and I tossed them out. Don't be like me! I get what you're saying when you wonder if what you made is good enough and wonder why someone would want it. I have a hard time even just showing others something I've painted or drawings. I'm very artistic and creative, but not very good, I don't think, and I'd freak out if someone wanted to actually buy something I've made.Gack! Just deleted a whole paragraph. Oh well I'll rewrite it tomorrow. |

| I DID IT *happy dance* Took me long enough as I had lot of problems with my wrists and wasn't comfortable with the other sock so I had to rip it and start all over gain, but finally I got them done. And the buyer was so nice. I was feeling guilty about not being able to knit as fast as I normally do and was sure that she would ask her money back because I was too slow but she just asked me to take it easy, not to hurt my wrists more for her, and was actually surprised about how fast I was. Now I jut hope that the socks will fit and she'd like them. Wheeljack I so know what you mean. I think I'll never be comfortable enough with my drawings, writings and music to ever show them to anyone. I just don't think I'm good enough. And with knitting I'm only comfortable to show my knittings to fellow knitters who understands what the process is like, and who don't know me in real life. Beside of my parents and brother only very few of my closest friends even knows that I knit and I hardly ever show my works even to them. I only post the pics to closed groups on facebook where I know that no one I know in real life will ever see them. Once noticed that a member of the group had been in same class with me at school and I wondered if I could ever pot anything to that group anymore but then I decided to keep on posting anyway as the girl had been in the group all the time and I just hadn't noticed so she'd probably seen all my previous work anyway. I'll post you pics tomorrow. |

The nuts are just way too tight for me and when I tried to loosen them I broke my wrench but the nuts still didn't get any looser. Now I should figure out a way to fix my wrench so I could continue fixing my bike. My bike is over 30 years old so I knew that it could break beyond repair anytime now, but I always thought that the ultimate breaking point would be something a bit more severe than a flat tire |

Usually between -12c & 0c. It's never really too cold to snow but as the air temperature drops, so does the moisture content and thus 'blizzards' (re: a ton of snow in a short period of time) become much less likely, the lower the mercury drops down. |

| Sounds a lot like the area I used to live in New York. We were about a half hour away from Ottawa. If weather was good, we'd go to the Winterlude there at the canal and see the ice sculptures. Sadly, it was a bit too cold and winters were too long for my southern blood, so I moved back down south. Here's a good example of why I left. | I can't say that I have. We rarely ate when we were actually at the canal. I do remember getting maple syrup on a stick, which they kept in snow. And poutine. Poutine is amazing. I think poutine and hot, spiced apple cider was the lifeblood of Northern New Yorkers. heehee And that's a good idea with the ashes. Never knew that. We were always told to use cat litter by the locals... but we normally just used Ice Melt, which did the trick. I really don't like ice... snow I can deal with... just not ice. I'm with Harry on this one. Here though, check this out... I'm on US soil, and look across the water! It's Canada! This was taken in Gouverneur, NY in 2012 at a friend's wedding. | Harryyy welcome back! I've wondered where'd you go. I used to hate winter too. Actually I can't think of a Finn who wouldn't hate winter it's just way too long and cold and way too much snow and way too much problems because of snow. But now it's not that bad anymore. Maybe cos the snow will anyway last from september to may so it's just too long time to care about it anymore and I've got used to it And as I live in apartment I don't have to clean the snow by hand anymore, as I only move in woods I don't have to worry about traffic anymore, as I cycle or walk I don't have to worry about buses and trains anymore and as it's always so cold I don't have to worry about snow falling from roofs anytime soon. It's -19 C here now so quit nice. A bit colder than yesterday but not too cold and lot warmer than couple of weeks ago. I do miss summer though, but at least the sun is up again after so many months of darkness |

Living in own house and cleaning the snow almost everyday ain't much of fun. Earlier when we had lower angle roof, I had climb up there to drop the snow. When you go out with kids, you have to clothe them properly and it takes forever. I myself stay much indoors during winter, watching movies or playing playstation. Sometimes I might go skating to shoot few pucks or similar. I just ain't winter person. |

A bunch of used to come down from Toronto & rent a cabin cruiser in Abay for the long weekend & cruise the 1000 Islands ... pretty part of the country. I had my first http://www.torontosun.com/life/eat/2011/03/01/17456546.html @ the Canal one cold February morning. I was in Ottawa doing some research at the NRC Library, brought my skates and decided to skate the canal before work. It was only about -10c but the wind was howling and the windchill factor made it considerably colder. Anyway, I survived the skate but was starving for something to eat .... and with a stroke of luck, the BeaverTail Shack had just opened as I was putting my boots back on. I wolfed down the pastry very quickly & it really hit the spot, but the problem was that my face/mouth was so frozen that I didn't realize until after that I had also eaten the napkin/serviette that was supplied with and wrapped around the dessert Harry, buddy - welcome back! Are the Wild going to make the playoffs this year? Looks good if they keep up their current pace! |

They had awful run not too long ago and they were in the bottom, but ever since Jeremy Roenick's Wild & Mike Yeo comments they have been winning. I mean really strong looking play and Dubnyk has been amazing. Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund were giving disappointing efforts like the rest of the team earlier this season and I couldn't see them having a winning goalie either. Now things are going right. Last night 5-3 win over Vancouver and Koivu 0+3. |

Great B-movie material. I'm trying to dig through my old photos to see if I can find the ones from when I was at the canal at Ottawa. I was 15 at the time, and it was my first attempt as ice-skating (fail). My first attempt at skiing wasn't any better... | Interesting. As it is, it looks like a carpet hanging on the side with a silhouette in the middle. Turned to the left, it looks like a mountain range or a city in the distance. Turning it to the right reveals a shoreline. Very cool. |

| So, finally bought some new shoes/boots. Originally, I wanted to get Redwing's Blacksmith in the Hawethorne Muleskinner leather. Unfortunately, the local store where I wanted buy them didn't stock them and couldn't really get them, as they are no official RW dealer. So I settled on the 8111 Iron Rangers for my first pair RW boots: https://flic.kr/p/tC4SvY https://flic.kr/p/tC4SvY If they prove satisfactory, I can still save up for a pair of Blacksmiths, which, by the way, are pretty close to Mac's boots from the first seasons. The boots in my avatar developed a hole in the toe area, so weren't really good anymore. |

| There’s a little weird feeling that those highfall stunt records that have been made every decade, really don’t make sense anymore after this one 2016. What I mean is that when the first jump record without parachute was made in 1978 (90m), then second record in 1986 (99m) and the last before this one in 1998 (104,5m). So every jump made after 1978 was always couple meters or ten meters higher to break the record. But now when somebody suddenly jumps from 7 kilometres, I think there is nobody who is gonna try to jump couple meters higher than 7 kilometres, only to just break that record. Kind of funny feeling, because a while ago I wondered that who is gonna be the next to break that 1998 record and I was positive that the jumper who ever is gonna be would only jump again from couple or ten meters higher Now you can say "when you have seen the one big jump, you have seen them all" |

| So, last Thursday I came home from work and was surprised that there was a lot of commotion going on at a donut shop right across from my apartment. I work two blocks away and had to find an alternate route home because the main street was blocked by police. As I pulled into my complex I saw there were cameras and bystanders EVERYWHERE. I was like... what's going on? I found out today that a scene was being shot for a movie called What Lies Ahead, staring Rumer Willis (Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter) and Emma Dumont. I MacGyvered my bicycle. The chains made terrible squeking noise, so I added a lubricant to them. When I test drived, it didn't work. It sounded like the whole cluster and chains were completely dry, just like I would need a gallons of that lubricant. I also noticed they had little brownish color, so I poured a water from watering can all over to the chain mechanism and when I test drived again, there was a sudden silence...I was quiet and the bicycle was quiet  |

Well, as a long-time RDA fan, it's Jack But I like them all. At first, I was a bit miffed that RDA got less and less screentime over the season. But the actors and characters are interesting enough to carry an episode by themselves. |

Thanks! I talked to my new boss yesterday, and he seems really nice. But, I'll find out for sure how well we'll get along in the next couple of weeks. I work as a church secretary. I'm currently trying to clean my office... it's kind of a mess right now though... XD Before that I was a bank teller for 9 years. I do love Stargate. I wish I had gotten into it sooner. I had just graduated high school and was getting into the work force, so I really didn't have time for any of the shows I was watching at the time. |

| When i first saw Stargate SG-1, it had just premiered and I was a huge fan of the movie. Had to say that although i found it quite interesting, it was a little campy. I also loved the fact that every planet they went on had people speaking English prior to the existence of the language of course. I know they did this for time issues but i still believe they could have worked around it. It was a modernized version of Star Trek with Teal'c being the Vulcan. While the movie focused primarily on Jackson & O'Neal, the series created a team effort again which i at first disliked and then there was the whole goa'uld which never existed in the movie. The aliens simply took possession of their hosts. And this reminded a bit too much of Dark Skies, another sci-fi show which came out around the time, just before i think that had ganglions (goa'uld) which took over the body of potential hosts. (Wonder where SG-1 got that idea from ). |

Well, in my country, everyone on television speaks German anyway, so I was never aware that this also happens in the US. Back then, I was so naive to believe that they speak another language with English subtitles in the original version but everything gets dubbed into German because we're too lazy I think it's well established in FanFiction and in the Stargate Novels that the Stargate somehow automatically makes you understand whatever language you encounter on your new location once you stepped out on the other side Yesterday, I watched an episode of "This is Us" (it just started airing here) and I was surprised that they left the background commentary (of a football game on television) running in English. That's new for me. I'm not sure if they had time issues while dubbing because usually everything spoken gets dubbed. |

The crazy thing was when I first started I was watching whichever one came on tv that night and I ended up seeing the season 3 (?) one with Sha're in it! |

I was at College when Stargate aired in Switzerland/Germany and didn't watch TV that much. There was a lot of homework, studying and a boyfriend that needed attention ;-) And I wasn't that interested in SciFi anyways. But my dad watched it avidly. One night I watched with him for at least 15 minutes until I realized that was RDA on the screen. He was "so old" *gasp* and his voice was all wrong (because he's dubbed by someone else on Stargate than on MacGyver) and what's up with the hair???!!!! I think that was a season 3 episode as well. (The same had happened with MacGyver where "The Widowmaker" in Season 3 was the first episode I ever watched.) So after my first MacGyver rewatch in English two years ago, I decided to give Stargate another chance (I loved RDA, after all) and only 10 minutes into the pilot, I was hooked. And Jack O'Neill looked so hot! And his short hair looked so good! I guess it's easier to fangirl for RDA in his mid-fourties if you're in your mid-thirties than when you're 20 |

| I'm gonna be odd man out... XD I actually have zero attraction to RDA in Stargate. I think it's because personality wise, Jack is a bit of a turn off for me. Not that I don't love Jack, as I did find him hilarious... just not in the "attraction" department. However, I did swooned over Corin Nemec as Jonas Quinn. lol What can I say? I have a thing for nerdy nice guys. MacGyver will always be my favorite though... followed closely by Jonas Quinn and Sam Winchester. But I've always looked up to "smart" characters. For instance, my favorite characters growing up were Penny from Inspector Gadget and Gadget from Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Those were my idols. Of course I grew up, and my tastes matured, but hey... it was the 80's. XD @Barry - Thanks Barry! I like my job, thought it's true... it can get a bit hectic sometimes. XD But, it's been the best job I ever had! |

I always found his character a bit annoying. But I wouldn't have minded if they had let him stay. It's just a bit weird; he 's a full team member for a full season and after that, he's practically vanished with a disappointing story line.... because the old cast member came back. I think they could have found a place for him as a regular (even if he wasn't on SG-1 anymore - maybe get him into one of the other SG-Teams?) |

| A lot of Daniel fans didn't like Jonas because they felt he was replacing Daniel. Personally, I thought Jonas was a very interesting character, and I found him easy to relate to. I actually found Jack more annoying than I did Jonas. *gasp* lol But, what I find annoying in a person greatly depends on their personality and attitude. As long as someone is good natured, they're okay in my book. However, if someone is a jerk and treats people with little to no regard... then I get annoyed, and I generally steer clear of such folks. Today was a bitter sweet day, as it was the last day for my boss. My new boss starts tomorrow. I miss my old boss already. :/ *sigh* |

| Sorry to hear, Jedi. Hope your new boss is nice. My old boss also resigned in April and we are getting a new boss in July. Crossing my fingers too. I always liked Shanks' take on Daniel. It was a good rendition of how Spader played the part in the movie. But i have to admit that RDA's version of O'Neal was not on par with Russell's performance. Russell depicted a far more realistic "torn" soldier than RDA portrayed it. Then you get Mili Avital's portrayal of Sha're which is SO different to that of Vaitiare Hirshon. |

That sucks to hear. My sister and I were just talking about why companies feel the need to burn out their employees. I have a friend that wants out of his job so badly that he just went back to college for an engineering degree. I hope you get a chance to relax! @barry - I hear that!
