Really good interview!

I like Peter's attitude and his responses about RDA not being in the reboot (yet) sounds encouraging. From the previews so far, the reboot looks promising. Still not sure if I'm gonna like it, but at the end of the day I won't have anything against anyone. I think they've given it their very best shot.

MacGyver is a tricky show to reboot... there's too much love for the original and RDA. I have to give them props for at least trying their best.

I think these folks have received enough hate though...

Thanks! Was a little tricky since he only had 15 minutes but hopefully I'll get a longer time with him at some point next year once things slow down. Amazing he had any time for me at all given how busy he is right now.

Good interview. Still i feel that his comment about what people think of episode one and he's on episode 12 makes me wonder whether he regrets shooting a few things. I guess only time will tell.

Nice Interview and a very interesting read!

The pressure must be intense; I don't have a clue how he can do this. Guess I'm not cut out for a job like this *lol*

I'm not a fan of many modern TV shows and I doubt I will like the reboot as much as I love the old show. I've never seen a single episode of "Hawaii-Five-0" and there are some changes in the reboot I don't like at all but all things considered, I think that Peter Lenkov might be able to create an interesting action TV show with this reboot. Maybe not one that has me gripping the edge of my seat but still captivating (even if it's mostly to try to find all the nods to the original).

With all the bang-bang-shoot-em-up-shows on TV right now, it's a good thing that a new generation will also get to see a hero like MacGyver. After "Scorpion", "Burn Notice" and stuff the concept is maybe not entirely new to them, but a character like MacGyver and his aversion to guns certainly is. That's why I wasn't that happy with turning it into a team effort à la "CSI: MacGyver" and turning Jack Dalton into a trigger-happy guy covering Mac with gun-fire.

We see in one of the videos posted earlier that Jack covering MacGyver was a flashback scene from his army days so I think in that context it's totally exceptable and also shows why we need to wait to watch the show so we see everything in context and it's all explained to us. wink.gif

Exactly! I usually need 2 or 3 episodes to judge a new TV show anyway...
