Just thought I might share this.

Last Saturday the biggest ocean cleanup ever has started with the intend of cleaning up the great garbage patches throughout the world oceans. The idea comes from a young Dutch fellow who went diving once in Greece and saw more plastic then fish. Ever since he has been working to start up his company in order to clean up the ocean. The video and link below explains on how he intends to do so. This is seems like an idea the Phoenix Foundation would do.

Yeah, I've been following this group for some time. In fact, I mentioned them earlier this year in one of your other topics. Nobody said anything though, which surprised me because this and the Seabin Project are totally up MacGyver's alley.

It's very inspiring though! Glad to see it's still going strong!

But now it seems they have officially started it's phase of cleaning up with their plastic catcher.

Yeah, that's really cool too! I knew they were going to launch this year, but they never stated exactly when.

I'm hoping it'll be a great success because if it is, they'll target that large garbage patch in the Pacific.

I just find it inspiring because the concept failed at first, and they never gave up on it. Now they have a concept that just might work! Imagine how much better the world would be if everyone was like that and worked together?

Might be hope for humanity yet! lol

Who knows? They think/hope they can clean up 50% of the garbage within five years and with any luck have clean oceans again by the year 2050. The garbage will be recycled to make new products. So maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
