Hello, for me it's season 6, for Mac's pretty haircut, there is a variety of scenarios, plus, for me, my favorite episodes are in season 6: Tough Boys, Lesson in Evil, Bitter Harvest, Faith, Hope, and Charity, ( that I now look elsewhere) The Colton etc

Well as you can tell below my profile pic it says season 5. Mainly it was because of episodes like Passages but also various other reasons. The mullet for one thing. I really like it when it's that long and there are quite few episodes that end suspenseful: Halloween Knights, The Ten Percent Solution. Also there is a bit more travelling involved. Cease Fire, Second Chance, Black Rhino, The Treasure of Manco... and one of my top favorites in it: Serenity.
But then again, if I'm real honest with myself, I think I probably should pick season 6 for the main reason, I grew with these episodes as a kid. I had about 17 episodes of season 6 on VHS, 8 episodes of season 7 and 3 episodes of season 2. Also when I'm in need of episodes, I mostly grab back to season 6. Maybe that's why I tend to think the later episodes are better.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. I am happy with your testimony in relation to your reason for your favorite season, we all have a memory with this series, me for example, I have an affection for season 7, because it is my first memory of the series, When it aired at the time, I was very young, but that is the first memory of this series, and I remember the episode, it is: Honest Abe.
Tough call, but I might have to go with Season 3. I enjoyed seeing a bit of a team dynamic, with Jack, Nikki and Pete all appearing more frequently (but unlike the reboot, the team wasn't there ALL the time, just enough to make Mac's world feel a bit more fleshed out.) The two-part season opener ("Lost Love") is among my favorite episodes, especially part 2. And we got introduced to Deborah, who made for a memorable villain. Also, while there were a few episodes that dealt with topical issues, it was still mainly a fun action-adventure show, not a "cause of the week" show.

Definitely Seasons 3 & 4.
Season 3 because those are the ones I remembered the most when I was a kid, and Season 4, because it seemed that was when the show started to take itself seriously.
Seasons 5 & 6 follow closely. :3

I am unfortunate as I didn't grow up with this series so have no fond memories. Really I think this is because it was never shown in the UK when I was growing up. I started to buy the DVDs during lockdown last year and I am mid way through season 7.
I will say that I prefer the earlier seasons due to the higher number of Macgyverisms and the more action hero style storylines as opposed to the more social justice focused episodes of later season. Not to say that I don't appreciate them, it's just I miss the Macgyver of the first and second episode of season one.
The image of Macgyver in the earlier seasons are what I think of when I hear his name. Thr opening gambits, an internal monologue running while he goes about his Macgyverism, that wonderful Timex MK1, the jeep and a mission in a foreign land.
I plan to watch them all again so I'm sure I will change my opinion as a MacNewbie.
1 because it had a lot of fun spy and international stuff (this is when he still worked for DXS), plus I always loved the opening gambits. And it's more experimental because the show is still figuring itself out.
5 was the season that originally introduced me to MacGyver, and it just has a lot of great episodes (the Holy Grail one, the Tienanmen Square one, the near-death-experience one, plus it's when Murdoc finally became interesting...)
