Just when I was beginning to like Desi, it looks like they might have MacGyver/ Desi more than just friends and IMO this is not good. I agree with Bozer, Mac and Desi is messy. I hope really that nothing comes of this. I see no chemistry between those two.

As for the episode, I really enjoyed it despite the so-called 'sparks' between MacGyver and Desi. I like when Raliey gets to kick some more butt like in this episode. There is also touching scenes when Oversight watches MacGyver whenever he gets into a bind but than gets out. Its especially touching when MacGyver comes gives his Dad a huge, big, hug.

Yep, Mac/Desi, please shoot me


Otherwise, not a bad episode.

I liked watching Mac on the tower. It was pretty nice to see him actually struggling with panic attacks, as Desi's helping him through it. But I do NOT want to hear her singing to him again, please!


I guess I just liked it because we had Jack late last season laughing at Mac's pure terror as he shoots his gun, as opposed to Desi trying to calm him down and help him. I like Desi's method way better


When they got captured in the stadium, I immediately thought, "I love how Desi can kick butt right up until the script requires her NOT to."

Despite the fact that I don't like her all that much, I admit I do sometimes cheer a bit if she throws a particularly sick move when fighting

Oversight has a heart after all. Shame he's probably going to die in the season finale

Mac & Desi's "thing" has the subtlety of a car going by without a muffler. Glad they sorta addressed the lunacy of it.

The way how Tristin describes it in a live once it could have just as well been her (glad it wasn't).

Were they trying to decoy the team with her coming by just to say she has a date? If so they know the team is onto them.

I'm glad they went back to one of the fundamentals, that Mac doesn't just do government jobs, that he does matters of the heart too. I'm reminded of the episode from the original where he helped the gypsy girl and her family.

Edit: I was in ATL around the time they were doing that scene at the "kidnap sight" with them commandeering the van and beating up the guys while wearing the masks. Wish I could have found the locae (and seen Tristin in IRL )

I really enjoyed this episode. Loved all the feels and team as family. So nice to see Macdaddy show emotion and realize what he's missed. Love the Bozer/Mac friendship and Riley of course. Also loved showing Mac's weakness. Even super spies are human

I like Desi so I'm not bothered by Mac's attraction. Nice to see him laugh so easily. and he's already learned how a relationship with a 'regular' person is next to impossible. Personally, I think the ending was a tease and they will not get involved. In his Paleyfest interview Lucas talked about the missing romance and said maybe unrequited love but true love is rarely an option for these types of characters. We'll see. Either way I love the show.

I tend to believe that's the case. This all may end up unfolding like the Mac/Nikki relationship seeds in the original.

Speaking of Mac/Nikki here, is that storyline done and dusted? Going on what two years of rarely a mention (though there was one in this one...lol)?

As far as the episode goes, more of a vehicle for the internal story arc than anything. Entertaining enough but not really memorable for the specific plot.

This episode started of kind of lame. I like Sparky though but Bozer's reaction to Sparky's analysis of a possible attraction between Mac and Desi was going back in the direction why I dislike Bozer in the first place and then he tries to drag Riley into it. Seriously, Bozer, come on. Mac deserves a little luck too, you know. If not with Riley then with Desi. But the responses here... well yeah. Not to mention Bozer and Riley were discussing this in the soccer stadium with their coms on. Hey, Bozer, Mac and Desi can hear you, you know?

But that little matter aside, I guess we sort of had our first treasure hunt episode (though the treasure were humans), they were looking for a map, got ambushed by thugs which resulted in a fight. And Mac saving the map, papers with his belt and fly tape reminded me of Indy's whip.

Lots of fighting in this one, maybe the one with most fights until now but it seemed more like filling up to cover up the lesser story. The episode itself is not bad but I've seen better, yet I still like the way they're going without Jack. Gunfights are taking a back seat, MacGyverisms are done a little slower. The show is getting better.

It's never a good idea to date inside a team of secret agents and there's a reason why it's often forbitten. But I still think it's ironic that specifically Bozer is against it; considering he went against the rules and is still dating Leanna

Forbidden or not, it's fiction... and I really don't think reboot Mac should worry about Riley or Desi getting killed since they seem to have great (and even better then him) fighting skills. I see no reason for him to remain alone like our Mac, but I didn't see any reason there either.
