I am considering buying a victorinox huntsman. Is it a good EDC knife? I would appreciate any info and opinions. Thanks. sakopen.gif

Personally I think it's to big and heavy for an EDC.

My EDC's need to be small and light and sit easily in my pocket without continuously try to pull my pants down or bulging out like a brick.

Yes, perfect IMO. A blade for cutting an apple, a saw for smaller branches, some scissors, screw drivers. Okay, maybe it's not as versatile as a bigger and heavier LM, but how often do you find yourself in really desperate situations? For an EDC knife, I'd get the Huntsman - in fact: I just got a new one a couple of weeks ago because I decided to retire my first one after nearly 20 years of ownership.

Regards, J.W.

No, I carry it in my trouser pockets quite frequently.

Great four layer knife, one of my favourites too. Good selection of functions and even MacGyver used older eighties model in second seasons d.o.a MacGyver and for love or money episodes. For my opinion it´s not too thick or heavy for jeans pocket everyday carry. sakopen.gif

laugh.gif I have an "economy" model Huntsman here ~ where they have left off the tweezers and toothpick...

I reckon this could be an ideal 'EDC' size for an average or larger sized person ~ either carried in pants or shirt pocket (as long as they're not too tight), or on a belt pouch..

MY favourite among my own three Victorinox SAKs here, would probably be the "Trekker" ~ though that's way too heavy for pocket carry ~ you definitely want the sheath/pouch to keep it in. macsak.gif
