I was able to download RDA's 'Simpsons' ep today (not having tv reception, I'm slow to get this sort of thing!) and I'm still giggling. The guy has a really twisted sense of humour. Not only is he able to poke some serious fun at himself, he's also not afraid of starting nasty rumours about himself: "People are going to know I'm missing! There's a liquor store I go to every morning!" roller.gif

Has anyone else seen it?

Yeah, but only the parts with Rick in it. That was so funny! I watched it several times and still have to giggle.

And I think they never have been to any Stargate-convention. No girls there? *snigger*

I also wonder, which escape came first – the Simpsons one or the Mastercard one and whether it is a coincidence that they are that similar or not?

Yeah, Rick always likes to make fun out of himself, and the only question I do have: Why took it so long?

Me too. I found the clips at the RDA Scrapbook.

Stereotype that sci-fi geeks are male?

Very good question! No idea! I also can't decide which one is more hysterical--air freshner and tube sock or... blue contact lens to hide his Latino heritage (laugh.gif) and... aBRAcadaBRA!

Why what took so long? Getting him onto the Simpsons? Who knows? At least, when it happened it was worth it--he got a whole half episode to himself and not just a cameo. I saw an interview with him where he talks about seeing this ep for the first time when it aired and 'TIVOing' it so he could watch it over and over and over again. roller.gif

who just watched it again and has decided that her favourite part at this moment is the squeaky tennis shoes

Yeah, that, and I also like that it is in stereo when the two sisters take him away and he says: „Watch that face, I need that for acting!“

You really can hear how they disappear to the right side of the computer.

Yeah, I also watched at Scrapbook. There are other nice things as well, just go looking! And every con I was so far had much more girls than boys! (of course, with the majority of the star guests being male).

Yes! The details are just astounding, hence why I love his squeaky shoes!

I don't know if I should, seeing as it took me all day just to get the Simpsons clips!

'Course, I don't notice the women that much, but Stargate sure has a lot of male eye candy. wub.gif On MacGyver, RDA didn't have a ton of competition, but on SG-1...

Why what took so long? Getting him onto the Simpsons? Who knows?

You know, I wanted to write a totally different kind of SG-fiction, one that no one had written before. So I wrote about Jack getting sucked into the TV and becoming a yellow cartoon figure himself and of course meeting Patty and Selma who thought it was MacGyver... and on the other hand Sam and Daniel who visit Matt Groening asking for help... and he has to draw a stargate for Jack so that he can go through to go back home... which is observed by Mulder & Scully who are still in the woods...

I swear I had finished the fanfiction before I heard the first rumors that Rick really will be on the show. Now that is a coincidence! So of course I was very curious, how much would be alike.

You can use a downloadmanager, it downloads when you are online and finishes it the next day or how long it takes. There is a video about the Celebrity Sports Invitational at Lake Louise, where he is skiing and tobogganing and also playing poker. It only has 10 MB.

roller.gif That sounds at least as funny as what they actually did! I'd love to read that story!

Even with a download manager, huge downloads (yes, 10MB is huge when you're on a 28kbs connection) are a problem seeing as I have only one phoneline--anytime I'm online, no one can reach me, even via email since all the network resources are concentrated on the download.

That said, I was online just about 24/7 for about two months to download season one of SG-1, just to win a bet that someone with a 28kbs connection can successfully download a 1 gig file. I won, but I,ll never do it again! smile.gif

I did see the Lake Louise clips, or at least some of them, at rdanderson.com. He's such a kid! biggrin.gif

I'm still translating. When it is finished, I promise to contact you. You can have the first part already, though smile.gif (and the idea actually came from the movie "Pleasantville" - liked that one)

Oh yeah, I know about downloading. I only recently got DSL since all my friends used to send me mails with many pictures and it took me hours to download them.

(<looks at thread and thinks that we maybe should go to PMs or e-mails instead of spamming Rock's threads?>)

Don't tell me you don't like them! They're the ones that are keeping MacGyver alive!

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

I can't believe that I missed it the 2nd time.. Grr! I always get the chance to see/watch TV at 9PM Central time when everybody's about in bed asleep while I'm on my computer just waiting to watch any show, even "Dog, the Bounty Hunter" which is my fave show. Dwayne "Dog" is so hot! Not as hot as RDA. LOL! He works with his wife, oldest son, nephew and brother. It takes place in Hawaii and it looks kind of warm there since I haven't seen any (or much) snow on that show. biggrin.gif I wub.gif love both of them.

I've seen the parody of The Simpsons on http://www.myspace.com videos where they did it with O.J. Simpson. ohno-smiley.gif Wish I could find it right now, but I don't think it's appropriate for this forum.
