"Nikki, where are you?" Mac shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Shhh... I'm over here you loudmouth," came from the darkness 15 feet away from his left elbow.

"Nice to see you to," Mac answered back with slight irratation in his voice, "Will you come where I can see you? What's with all the secrecy?"

"Shhhhhhh.... Were you followed? Did anyone see you come here? Did you tell anyone? Tell me quickly." Nikki had asked all these questions in rapid succession and the last comment was said desperately like she was pleading for answers in the negative. Mac scrutinized her countenance carefully. Nikki looked like a ghost, she was pale and at every sound she shook like a leaf. Mac was beginning be concerned.

"She looks like she's going to faint and looks terrified of something or someone." Mac said to himself. What he said outloud was this," Nikki, when was the last time you ate? What's going on? Why did you call me at 3:00 this morning?"

"Please, just answer my questions first, then I shall answer some of your's" she replied.

Mac detected a note of urgency in her voice and said "The answer is 'No' to all the aforesaid questions. Now for the questions I asked you..."

"Not here, we have to go now. I'll answer some of your questions on the way or when we get there."

"The way to where? Where is there? Nikki what is going on??? I'm not going to move from this spot until you give me a good reason why I should go with you." Mac firmly replied.

"Someone is trying to kill me and I think they are going to try and kill you."

"Whoa Nikki, back up. They??? Who are they??? Nikki I am going to a phone and call Pete right now."

"NO!!! MacGyver you can't call Pete. I will not allow you to involve him in this."

"You had no scruples involving me in whatever is going on." Mac stated flatly.

"You were already involved. You are just going to have to trust me on this. Come on I know a safe place where we can talk." And with that she walked off resolutely in the direction of the woods. Mac hesitated for a second then ran to catch up. He tried to obtain more information, but Nikki maintained a resolute silence. They walked through the woods at a fair pace until they reached a cave. Nikki crawled in with Mac at her heels. Mac looked at his surroundings interestedly. The cave was dark and barely fit Mac and Nikki.

"Nice place you got here." Mac said. Nikki ignored him and proceeded to block the entrance to the cave with various shrubs and sticks. Then after she was done with that she went to the very end of the cave and pushed a fairly large rock backwards, revealing a large cavern of rock lit with many candles.

"Now that is neat! How did you find this place?" Mac asked in wonderment.

"Never mind, just get in." Nikki said harshly.

"Ladies first." Mac said with an deep, silly bow.

After they had both climbed into the cavern Nikki pushed the rock back into place and turned to face MacGyver. "Mac we're in lots of trouble." Nikki stated seriously, "I don't know what to do. But I knew that you would think of some makeshift plan that will save us and I will be indebted to you again." Nikki added the last comment in a rueful voice and a grim smile on her dirty face.

Oh cool! A new story from a new (to here anyway) author.
I like this start its got me intrigu…. Uhmm... curious as to what will happen next!

Part Two

"Nikki I know that I have asked this question already, but, what is going on?" Mac said in an semi-annoyed, anxious manner.

"Well, do you want the short or the long version?" Nikki inquired.

"You pick," Mac said, "I don't really care, as long as you tell me what is going on."

"Sit down." Nikki commanded. Then she started her narrative: "You know that top secret mission we were sent on where you were called back for something even more important?" Mac nodded his head,"Well, after you had left and I had finished the job, I saw our contact, Vlad Kerchek, accepting money from, Rasputen Vlademouf, a known counter-agent. They saw me and chased me for about an hour before I lost them. I went back to my hotel room and they were waiting for me. I got away, barely, and hopped the first flight to the U.S.A. I got off at Las Vegas, I thought that would put them off my scent. I bought a car and headed for home. On the way I stopped at a small Diner, and went in to get a cup of coffee and saw Vlademouf at the counter. I left without drawing attention to myself. He followed me for half an hour, before he stopped my car. I drew my gun, but he didn't draw his. Then he started to talk. He told me that shooting would not do any good. Then he smiled and waved at someone in his car. The other guy came out carrying an automatic rifle and a stick of dynamite. Then Vlademouf told me that I could leave here alive but I had to hear his proposition first. Basically, I swear never to tell anyone what I saw and I would live for a long time. If I don't do what he asks he kills me, you and anyone else who might know. Then he told me I had three days to think it over but I would be watched, so I shouldn't try telling anyone. Then he got in his car and drove off in the opposite direction. I got in my car and drove home as fast as I could. I tried to call Pete but they cut my phone wires and everywhere I went I was followed closely. I lost him this morning and called you. You know the rest." Nikki ended with a deep breath in.

"I still don't get why you called me and not Pete. Pete could get you protection." Mac said shortly.

"Because our contact already saw you, they would probably try and kill you because you were on the same assignment. I didn't want you to die without knowing why you were killed." Nikki explained. Mac was speechless for a few seconds.

"Well, I suppose I should thank you for letting me know," Mac said with a little hesitation, "There is a part in your story I just don't get. Why did Vlademouf let you go?"

"I let her go because I knew she would lead me to you, I didn't think that you had not known before. I could have had her killed at any time, but I wanted you to." said Vlademouf as he pushed the rock back into place behind him.

Part Three
"Haven't I seen you somewhere before? You look and sound familiar. Doesn't he look familiar, Nikki? I could swear, I have seen you somewhere." Mac said as he hit Vlademouf on the jaw. "Why do I do that?" Mac asks himself as he waves his hand around. "Come on Nikki!!!" he said as he grabbed her hand.
He moved the rock out of the way and started to crawl into the small cave when a voice from inside the cave said, "Hold it right there buddy. It's crowded enough in here without you trying to get in here. Where is Vlademouf?"
"I'm in here," came from behind Mac, "That was very stupid MacGyver. Get back in here. NOW!!!" Vlademouf said brandishing his colt .45 in a threatening manner. From what I had heard of you I thought that you would have been a little bit smarter. Do you really think I would have come in to get you both alone?" he said in a sarcastic tone. "Raise your hands above your heads, both of you." Vlademouf said commandingly. And then to one of his cohorts he said, "Give me the rope, Sam."
"I don't suppose that you would let us go if I said I was sorry for hitting you?" Mac said with a little rueful humor in his voice.
"Very funny, MacGyver." Nikki said with a sigh, "I'm sorry for getting you into this."
"How sweet." Vlademouf said," But I would have hunted for him any way if you hadn't called him. He's the one I want really. You are just a kinda bonus, Miss Carpenter. Now if you both will please face the wall and stand perfectly still, we will be on our way in a couple of minutes. My employer wants to speak with you two. Personally I would rather just shoot you now, but you are worth more money alive than dead."
"And just who is your employer?" Mac and Nikki both asked at the same time, as they were being tied up.
"You will find out presently, my employer said I was not to give out his name; he said he would introduce himself. Now that we are ready to leave this drab place, I am afraid that you will have to be knocked out for the ride."

Mac woke up with a major headache. He looked at his surroundings; he was in a room with no furniture, no windows, and no visible doors. The room was completely bare, the ceiling was at least fifteen feet high, the walls were white with no cracks at all, and everything except the clothes on his back had been taken away. He knew he was in a major predicament, even if he could escape he still had no idea where Nikki was being kept or if she was even still alive.
Suddenly lights went on and blinded MacGyver, from somwhere in front of him he heard a familiar hated voice saying in mocking cordial tones, "Hello MacGyver, It's been a long time since we last met. I hope you do find your quarters to your liking, it would distress me so, to learn otherwise."
Mac in an instant knew who was talking and what hecould expect from him. To buy time Mac asked, "No hard feelings from our last meeting? None of it was personal, you know."
"No, of course not. Why should there be hard feelings?" he said with a hint of suppressed rage in his voice.
"Well then, what do you want?" MacGyver asked although he already knew the answer.
The expected answer came from inside the light, "You."

Part Four

The lights were extinguished suddenly and the room was plunged back into semi-darkness. The voice came from the shadows on the opposite wall from MacGyver, "Are you ready to pay for your crimes?" asked the voice.
"What crimes? Unless, of course, you call stopping you, a crime." Mac retorted. He stood up and started to walk in the direction from which the voice was coming.
"Stop where you are," the voice said, as the body to go with the voice came into the dim light. MacGyver saw the hand holding the gun before he saw the rest of this evil specter. " MacGyver, I could shoot you right here and not a soul would ever know about it, but I want to give you a chance to either die, or live in disgrace and grief. Either way you see it, I win." he said with a maniacal frenzy in his eyes.

"Not much of a choice, what's your game, Murdoc? Where is Nikki? What exactly are you going to do to both of us?" Mac said, suppressing his loathing of the man in front of him. Murdoc looked at MacGyver for a few minutes with hate and blood lust in his eyes, before Mac began to be impatient with his jailer. "Speak, will you." Mac said in a firm voice that was not quite a shout.

Murdoc took a step foward and said with complete calm, "What's the matter? Tired of waitng? I just want to savour this feeling of having you completely at my mercy. You have no idea how long I have dreamed of this day, how long I have been planing this, how much I hate you, how seeing you here fills me with elation and a feeling of almost fufilled vengence. You wanted to know where Miss Carpenter is? That is for you to find out. You are now in my game with my rules and if you don't follow my rules...Nikki dies." Murdoc said the last with a cruel grin on his face and a tone of glee in his voice. For Murdoc this was heaven, absolute bliss, he knew he had MacGyver defeated. All that was left was to tell MacGyver the rules and leave him to play the game he could not win.

"Would you care to hear the rules?" Murdoc asked with thick sarcasm in his voice. Murdoc had planned it all out, he knew MacGyver's answer before Mac even said it.

"What do you mean by rules? This is no game!! We are talking about human lives!!! Don't you care even a little bit about that??" Mac said angrily.

"Do you want to hear the rules or not? I could just kill you both and get it over with, or you could try and save both your lives." Murdoc said menacingly.

"Yes, I want to hear the rules." MacGyver said in an almost defeated voice.

"I knew you would."

End Part Four

Hmmmm I think Murdoc as underestimated him, poor guy his plans never seem to work out, if he didn't have such a flare for the dramatic he could have killed MacGyver ages ago...but then it wouldn't have been a challenge and way too easy. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing the rules...so don't take too long or I might do something crazy like this or this or this or this or finally this

I knew it, I knew it!

Part Five
"Here are the rules, MacGyver. First, until you have rescued Nikki, you cannot try and escape or I will be forced to terminate her life. Second, you will probably notice that I have cameras every where, but you are not allowed to blind any of them or Nikki dies. Those are the rules, not long, but they get the job done. Now I'll give you a couple hints or helps. In case you were wondering if you had a time limit to find Nikki, you do, she has...." looking down at the watch on his wrist, " roughly an hour and two minutes before she dies. There are five telephones in this building, you can use these to obtain hints from Nikki on where she is, but they only work for 45 seconds each. There are 66 floors in this building and 44 rooms on each floor, in one of these rooms Nikki is. You have an hour to search through the 2,904 rooms, find the lady, and save her before both of you die. Have fun, MacGyver!" and with that the lights in the room blazed on brighter than before. MacGyver heard a door close softly and steps walking away silently. He was alone again in a room he had no idea how to get out of, and a little less or more than an hour (he really couldn't tell) to save himself and Nikki. Needless to say, Mac was not looking at the future through rose-colored glasses.

"Get up, Mac." MacGyver said to himself, "You won't save anyone just sitting around here." He stood up, rubbed the back of his head, and looked around. "First thing to do is find a way out of this room." He started to knock on the white walls with his knuckles, until finally after what felt like an eternity, Mac found a hollow spot in the walls. He felt along the wall looking for a handle of some sort. He pushed and pushed on what had to be the door. It would not budge an inch. Finally Mac became so sick of being stuck there he started to pound the wall, trying to break through.

"If you wanted out so badly all that you had to do was ask." came Murdoc's mocking voice. MacGyver felt the door opening and fell through the opening into a long dark hallway with doors on either side. He got up, dusted himself off, and started walking, opening doors as he came to them.

Oooo! This is fun! Murdoc has set up quite a trap for Mac this time! Keep going!

I wonder how Mac is going to manage this feat...

I know it's been a long time since I posted the last part of my story.....but I'm hoping I can make up for that by posting the next part now.

Part Six

Mac was getting really sick of this twisted game. At every camera he passed he gave such a glare that would melt an iceburg. He had searched 16 of the 66 floors and had found absolutely nothing. He opened another dorr looked in.... and there was a telephone! He ran to it and put it up to his ear. "Nikki..." he queried.

"Mac...Mac is that you?" Nikki's panicked voice said.

"Yeah. Where are you?"

"I'm tied up in a room. I can see the sun through the window.... uummm.... I hear cars passing."

"Are they loud? Are they close by? Nikki...." All that could be heard was a dial tone and then absolute silence. "MURDOC!!!!"

"Yes, MacGyver?" came a voice from right behind Mac. MacGyver whirled and there stood Murdoc, smiling.

"Murdoc, just let her go. She has nothing to do with this. I'm right here. I won't leave. Just LET HER GO." MacGyver's voice shook with suppressed rage.

Murdoc just smiled and said, "24 minutes, MacGyver. I suggest you use them well." Then he left without another word. Mac ran into the hallway to follow him and saw nothing, Murdoc had disappeared again.

Nikki stared at the phone in her hand. She put it back on the receiver and again started pacing. Her hands were tied in front of her with a wire that was now stained with her blood. The wire was attached to the wall. She had given up trying to esape a long time ago. "What am I going to do?" she mused outloud. She looked out the window again and tried to figure out exactly where in the building she was. She had no idea.... "This darn wire.... I can't get close enough to the window to see anything but the sun. I must be on the outskirts of some city."

"Very good, my dear." Murdoc said as he opened the door to the room and walked in. "You are quite correct in your assumptions. Although how that's going to help you I have no idea. You might as weel just sit back and relax...enjoy the rest of the time given to you. I can't tell you how much pleasure this brings me to see you again. The last time we met was on that mountain. Oh what a merry chase you gave me."

"Well, I'm glad I could bring some pleasure to you, you Maniac!"

"Now, now, my dear that's no way to speak to your host. Don't you worry I'm sure the Boy Wonder will be here soon to save the day." He stepped closer to Nikki and gave her the most malicious grin he could muster, "In fact, I'm counting on it."

Nikki round-house kicked at his head with all her strength... but her foot never met it's destined target. Murdoc ducked under the kick and pulled her other leg from out beneath her. Nikki hit the floor with a loud crash. Her whole body felt like a punching bag and her wrists were bleeding heavily. Murdoc looked at her with a pitying gaze. "I always thought, you Phoenix operatives would know how to defend yourselves better. Disappointing.... I guess I'll just have to wait till MacGyver's here to have my fun."
