a drabble and a half (if there is such a thing), dedicated to the beloved god who has made the past few weeks easier to live

Chief Purser Anubis wasn't a bad man, though some might think him so. It was just that everyone had a time to sail and if they missed it, then their souls would become lost, doomed to remain trapped eternally between the living and nether worlds. Most passengers accepted the natural continuation of their life, happy to be reunited with loved ones, but then there was the odd traveler who was certain that it was not his time. If someone appeared on the quay before their name showed up on the manifest, they could return to the land of the living... upon passing a test that would prove how much their corporeal existence mattered to them. Angus MacGyver passed that test. Smiling as he watched the man inch his way back up onto the quay, Anubis turned back to his other task, that of guiding his travelers to their eternal home.
