Damn, it's so frigging hot, but since I got nothing else to do, I'll add chapter seven up. From here on we'll have nice twist in the story in favor of... you read it. It just gets better and better and maybe even somewhat darker. I hope you enjoy.
(We fade in with no music with a view on the Police Station)
Chapter Seven
The Police Station
Andrea’s place
Ambushed
The next dayIt was shortly before noon when MacGyver, Sam and I arrived back at the police station. Mike and Marcus were sitting at separate desks. Captain Howard was there too.
‘Here you are,’ Howard said. ‘What took you so long?’
‘Traffic, you know,’ MacGyver said.
‘What are your plans now? Remember, forty-eight hours is all you got.’
‘We’re thinking to search Andrea’s place,’ Sam said. ‘Maybe there’s another clue there.’
‘With any luck it might lead us back to the Von Leer brothers,’ I said.
‘Alright, check this out,’ Mike said. ‘With our population finder we founded the Andrea, you’ve met on the beach.’
‘What’s her address?’ Sam asked.
‘472 Broadway Street over on Second Avenue,’ Marcus said.
‘So what are you all waiting for?’ Howard asked. ‘Get outta here.’
‘Don’t we need back up or anything?’ I asked.
‘Is Alpha team still available, Mike?’ Marcus asked.
‘Is it, captain?’ Mike asked.
‘It is, but I won’t allow it.’
‘Why not?’ MacGyver asked.
‘Forgot what happened last time? This time you got to do it on your own.’
‘Captain, we…,’ Mike started.
‘No! That’s my decision. Yesterday, you turned our city in a war zone with the Alpha team. You’re on your own.’
‘Alright, then,’ MacGyver said. ‘Let’s go.’
(Apprehensive music comes up here and then fades away)
472 Broadway Street.
‘Here it is,’ I said while getting out MacGyver’s jeep.
Mike parked his car behind ours.
‘How’d you wanna handle this?’ Mike asked.
‘Like last time I guess.’
‘Picking locks?’
‘Yep. Unless there’s a window open somewhere.’
‘Then let’s do it.’
We walked up to Andrea’s door. MacGyver took his

Swiss Army Knife and started to pick the lock again.
‘Aren’t you getting sick of picking locks, dad?’
‘Sometimes. But it’s good way to get inside and I’ve been picking locks for the last seventeen years. It became a routine in my life.’
After some picking he succeeded in opening the door.
‘Piece of cake,’ he said.
Mike and Marcus grabbed their guns.
‘We’ll go up front, covering you,’ Mike said. (Slow tense music comes up)
Slowly they went inside and we followed them. The house was a mess. It was hard to walk around. We parted our ways in the house. I searched the kitchen, MacGyver the living room, Mike and Marcus the garden and Sam went upstairs. Sam searched the rooms and suddenly he got a bad feeling about it. We weren’t alone in the house. Something or someone was in there too. Sam opened a door and look behind it, just like his father taught him. Then he entered the room. Also the room was a big mess. He pushes a few books aside with his foot. A bookcase was thrown to the ground. With all his muscles he putted the bookcase back up straight against the wall. Then he noticed something on the ground.
‘What the hell is that?’
He went through his knees to have closer look.
‘A hair pin?’
Letters were in graved on it.
‘A-N-D-R-E-A. Andrea!’
He cleaned the room a little more and founded something else.
‘A ring.’
Not much more was to be found there, but then something caught Sam’s attention. A picture was pinned to the wall with a knife. It was a picture of Allie and Andrea. He took the knife from the picture. He observed the picture very good. At the backside something was written down in black and blue ink.
‘Gold Rush!?’
He had to tell this to his father.
‘Dad? Dad?!’ (Music becomes somewhat tenser and then slower again)
‘Sam?’ MacGyver’s voice sounded from downstairs. He came upstairs and we followed him.
‘What is it?’ he asked.
‘This.’
‘A hair pin, a ring and a picture?’ Marcus asked.
‘These belongs to Andrea,’ Sam explained. ‘The picture was pinned to the wall with this knife, but it’s what’s written on it. I don’t get it.’
MacGyver turned the picture around and reads what’s on it.
‘Gold Rush?’ (The music fades away)
‘What does that mean?’ Mike asked.
I lifted up my shoulders in ignorance.
‘I once had to deal with gold rushers before when I was in Alaska but this…, I don’t know,’ MacGyver said while he tried to think. ‘Maybe this could be their new hiding place or something. Maybe it’s a name of something.’
‘What do you really think, MacGyver?’ I asked.
‘I don’t know. Gold Rush. The Von Leers stole the gold so they probably see themselves now as gold rushers. They probably flew it out of here but for some reason I can’t imagine why they would fly it out of here, if they don’t have an airplane ready. They hid in the harbour so when we tried to chase them down, they drove away with the other getaway car to who knows where. The docks, shipment?’
His face cleared up.
‘But of course. Gold Rush is the name of ship. They wanted to sail it out of here instead of flying.’
‘Sail it out to where?’ Mike wanted to know.
‘Probably to their homeland South-Africa,’ MacGyver replied.
‘Then we gotta go to South-Africa, right?’ Marcus said.
‘Not really. It takes a couple of days to travel from here on to South Africa by ship. They’re probably in the middle of the ocean somewhere. The question is where.’
‘I think we’d better go back to the police station and find out,’ Mike said.
‘No, no!’ MacGyver said. ‘The ship’s probably not registered or anything, there’s no way we can find their course.’
‘Dammit,’ Sam swore.
‘We can’t wait a few days until they’re back in South Africa and fly over there to find them. We only got forty-eight hours, remember?’ Mike said.
‘I don’t know what to do. Our only possibility is wait a few days until they’re in South-Africa, then we can go over there and talk with their authorities.’
‘But that’ll costs us our jobs,’ Marcus said.
‘Is there no way to convince Captain Howard otherwise?’ I asked.
‘Probably not.’
‘But you don’t know?’ MacGyver asked. ‘Well, we can at least try. I understand Howard is angry of what happened to his city. He also would like those scumbags behind bars so I think he’s reasonable enough to let us fly over the South Africa, if that’s where they’re heading.’
‘Maybe,’ Mike said.
‘You got a no but you can receive a yes. I think we can at least ask him. Agreed?’
We all agreed.
‘Let’s go then.’
We were willing to leave the house until Sam heard a shrilly noise.
‘You know, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that we’re not alone in this house and that noise confirms it,’ Sam said.
‘What noise?’ Mike asked.
‘Didn’t you hear that?’
‘I heard it too,’ MacGyver said. ‘It came from upstairs.’
‘Let’s go see,’ I said.
‘Alright, but let’s be careful.’ (Slow tense music comes up again)
We passed the room, we just left. The sound lured us the farthest room in the hallway. The door was half open. There was movement in there. The sound sounded female like. Suddenly the door went completely open. In an instant Mike and Marcus grabbed their guns and aimed at the doorway. Carefully they walked up to it. Before they could do anything Andrea was came through, but it seemed as if somebody from behind the door pushed her.
‘Don’t shoot!’ Sam screamed. ‘Andrea?’
‘Sam?’
‘What is it? What’s the matter?’
Andrea started to cry. Sam walked up to her.
‘Don’t! Stay there.’
‘Is everything ok?’
‘No.’ (The music becomes tenser)
Andrea got pulled away and the door got slammed shut.
‘Andrea!!’ Sam screamed, he ran to the door and started to bang on it. ‘Open the door!’
‘Get out of the way!’ Marcus said. (We hear the music of Humanity again where the soldiers burst in) Mike and Marcus started to shoot on the door. We could hear Andrea screaming inside. Mike kicked the door. Again and again and again until it gave in. We entered the room but got ambushed. More guns were waiting for us there. Mammon appeared with four or five men. (Music comes to a sudden stop)
‘Drop your guns! No, give them to me. Now!’ he said.
Mike and Marcus shared a look.
‘You drop your guns,’ Mike said.
‘Do it or she dies!’ Mammon threatened.
They looked at MacGyver and he nodded. Mike and Marcus gave Mammon their guns.
‘We lost you, yesterday. Where’d you ran off to? The Bahamas?’ I asked jokingly.
They couldn’t laugh with it, though. Bad timing to make a very bad joke.
‘Very funny!’ Mammon said and he nodded to one of his men.
‘What?’ I asked.
Suddenly the man besides me hits me real hard in my stomach.
‘Ooh!!’
I fell to the ground. MacGyver shook his head.
‘God, don’t you have any humour?’
‘Get up!’ he said.
I got up.
‘What are you going to do with us?’ MacGyver asked.
‘The Von Leer brothers figured, you wouldn’t give up the search to the gold and the girls. They want to get it over with, to get you of their tails. You’re coming with us.’
‘To where?’ Sam asked.
‘To the ship.’
‘Gold Rush?’
‘That’s right. We got no time to waste, let’s go.’
Some of the men pushed us out of through the backdoor of the house. We went to the backstreets, through an alley. A big black van was waiting for us there.
‘Get in the van.’
We got in the van. The whole ride was silent. Not a sound was heard except the engine.
After a ride of twenty minutes we ended up at a deserted place of the beach. Besides some seabirds and the sound of the waves, it was about the only thing that sounded there.
‘What are you all up to?’ Mike asked.
‘You’ll see, soon enough,’ Mammon answered and took something from underneath his jacket pocket. It was a radio.
‘Alright, come over,’ he said into the radio.
We heard the sound of a motor boat coming closer. It was a white boat and came to the edge of the sea.
‘Get on!’ Mammon said.
We got on the boat and at top speed we rushed over the sea. In a matter of minutes we lost the mainland out of sight and then there was nothing but water all around us.
‘MacGyver, what are we going to do?’ I asked.
‘I don’t know yet. We’ll see how the situation evolves in our advantage.’
‘Can’t we try something now?’
‘Too many guns. And if something happens to this boat, we might sink and drown.’
‘Right.’
MacGyver looked at Sam, who sat at the other side of the boat.
‘Sam?’
Sam didn’t respond.
‘Sam?’
‘What?’ he said as if he was pulled out of a dream.
‘Are you ok?’
‘I’m fine but I’ve had better days.’
‘Yeah. What’s troubling you so?’
‘I don’t know.’
‘You’re just scared, aren’t you?’
‘Maybe. A little.’
‘Don’t worry, everybody’s scared.’
‘No doubt.’
‘But we’ve been caught so many times before. We always manages to get away, right?’
‘Right. Always thanks to you.’
‘They’ll get their comeuppance.’
‘You’ll make sure they get it, right?’
‘All of us will make sure they’ll get it. I’m sure your willing to take on Nikolaus after that head butt he gave you.’
Sam nodded.
‘And Mario probably can’t wait to beat up Mammon again. So we’ll each do our parts to nail these guys.’
‘What about you?’
‘I’ll do what I have to do to get Erich Von Leer.’
‘That’s good.’
‘Strange. It feels like we’re willing to take revenge but it isn’t. It’s justice. They have to be punished for what they did.’
‘We’ll make sure of that.’
‘Damn right,’ MacGyver said.
Sam nodded smiling a little, then he looked at Andrea who was sitting at the bow. MacGyver noticed that Sam was looking at her.
‘Go to her,’ he said. ‘Talk to her.’
‘About what?’
‘The situation for instance. Ask her where we’re going and the conversation will follow from it’s own.’
Sam got up and walked up to Andrea.
‘Hey,’ he said softly.
Andrea looked up at him as he sat down.
‘Hey,’ she said back to him.
‘You wanna talk about it?’ he asked.
‘Sam, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,’ she said in defeat. (Slow sad music comes up here)
‘That’s alright.’
‘No, it’s not. I set you up. You, your father, your friends and I feel like I betrayed Allie.’
‘You didn’t.’
‘Yes I did.’
‘Not true.’
‘Yes I…’
‘No, listen. You didn’t set anybody up or betrayed anybody. If you talk like that you only betray yourself. This is not your fault. You were obviously used to get us.’
Sam and Andrea hugged each other. MacGyver and I shared a look at what we saw. (The music fades away here)
‘I’ve got a few questions though,’ Sam said releasing Andrea.
‘Like what?’
‘Why didn’t the Von Leers let you go after they got hold of the gold?’
‘They were willing to kill us at sea. Remember the storm last night?’
‘Yeah.’
‘We were tied up and they wanted to throw us overboard, but they didn’t. They decided to keep us alive to lure you in a trap.’
‘And kill us as well,’ Sam continued.
‘Yeah.’
‘Damn and we fell for it.’
‘Yep.’
‘They made one mistake though.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘Since they caught us, now, we can deal with them.’
‘How? What are you talking about?’ Andrea asked who got a little confused by Sam’s riddle talking. You can obviously see that they don’t know each other very well.
‘Don’t you get it?’
‘No.’
‘If they didn’t caught us, we would have never find out where you were. They brought us to you, sort of. But our guesses were close. My dad had this hunch that they would’ve used a ship to get out of the country.’
‘Where would the ship go to then?’
‘Since they’re both South-Africans, we figured South-Africa.’
‘So what are you planning to do?’
MacGyver, who was following the whole conversation joined Sam and Andrea at the bow.
‘My grandfather, Sam’s great grandfather, Harry Jackson once told me that when you’re in a ugly situation, you gotta twist it around to make it work for ya.’
‘What are the plans then?’
‘That, I don’t know yet. It depends on how the situation evolves and what they’re planning to do with us. But Sam was right. They’ve made a mistake by catching us. If they just let you go and took off, they would’ve won the whole thing, without us after them.’
‘But then we would probably be dead.’
‘That would’ve been the biggest loss, then. The gold is not important. Human lives are.’
‘Now they’ve taken us, we can save you and eventually the gold, right, dad?’
‘Right, but let’s see first what kind of surprises they have for us.’
‘Don’t count on surprises,’ Andrea said, ‘count on getting wet.’
‘Again?’ MacGyver asked. ‘Are they planning to drown us? Me again? Everybody wants to drown me lately. That would be the fourth time then.’
‘Original way to go out, huh, dad?’
‘Yeah.’
Mike and Marcus were sitting at the stern of the boat and annoyed as they were. But not really annoying each other, more annoying their selves.
‘Can’t f*cking believe this!’ Marcus said to himself.
‘It’s the second time they caught us, just like the day before yesterday,’ Mike said in himself.
‘If we just didn’t go to that room, we would’ve gotten out of there and carry on with the investigation.’
‘Great idea of Howard. Letting us go without back-up and this is the result. Us caught.’
‘Ya know, Mike. I’ve seen Lethal Weapon and in Lethal Weapon they torture you when you get caught.’
‘Yeah? Well in Die Hard with a Vengeance they just tie you up to explosives.’
‘Really? What’d you think they gonna do to us?’
‘Torture us, tying us up to explosives and blow us up to the limits of the sky.’
‘The sky’s the limit, huh?’
‘How the f*ck can I know what they’re gonna do to us, Marcus?’
‘Can’t you take a guess?’
Mike shook his head, rolled his eyes and covered his hand over face.
‘No. Well maybe. The torturing and blowing us up is in the worst case scenario. They probably are just gonna tie us up to a few chairs just like two days ago. Why should I care? I’ve got nothing to lose.’
‘Nothing but your life.’
‘All I want is to get these guys, save the girls and get the gold back.’
‘We all want that I guess, the question is how.’
‘I hope MacGyver knows what to do.’
‘He probably does.’
‘I just wanna know what.’
‘Then go ask him.’
‘We’ll go together.’
‘Alright.’
Mike and Marcus stood up but one of the henchmen hold them back with a rifle.
‘Where do you think you’re going?’ he asked.
‘To the bow, if you don’t mind,’ Marcus said.
‘Just don’t do anything stupid. I know your kind, thinking they’re all big and bad.’
Mike gave him a nasty look.
‘We are big and bad, you son of a --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE--. That’s why we are the Bad Boys.’
Mike and Marcus started to sing their song.
“Bad boys, bad boys. Watcha’ gonna do? Watcha’ gonna do when we come for you?”
The henchmen wasn’t impressed and hits Mike in the face with the back of his rifle to shut them up. Marcus backed his friend up and hits the henchmen in the face.
‘You --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE--.’
Marcus got hit in the back of his head with another barrel of the gun from the man behind him. Then Mammon appeared on deck.
‘What the hell is going on here? Stop that.’
Everybody looked in the direction of Mike and Marcus.
The man who got slugged down by Marcus got up and kicked Marcus hard against his chest.
‘Hey, that wasn’t necessary, man!’ MacGyver said.
‘Son of a --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE-- hits me in the face. I think that makes us even.’
‘Even, my black bum,’ Marcus said laughing in pain, ‘I just backed up my friend here.’
‘Are the both of you all right?’ I asked.
‘Yeah, yeah, we’re good,’ Mike answered.
‘Everybody get back to your places and nobody moves,’ Mammon said.
We obeyed. At the moment there was nothing we could do but MacGyver surely was working on a plan to get us all in safety. Knowing Mac, he always has plan and a back-up plan in case of emergencies. That’s our Mac.
‘Now what, MacGyver?’ I asked.
‘We wait. There not much else we can do.’
‘I hope your plans work.’
‘Well, I’ve got a few ideas to get even with them but I don’t know how yet. They’ll pay but how? That is a very good question.’
I didn’t say much more. We weren’t allowed to say much more either. In the end the silence starts to work on your nerves. You still got the wind in your hair and besides your ears, the sound of the motor and the ocean noise. We kept on going and suddenly we gained more speed. In the distance I could see a silhouette of what could be the ship, we were going to. It was a big freighter ship and we all know what the cargo could be. The ship came closer and closer, or was it us that got closer? The ship became more and more visible. The name of ship became more visible and I was right. It was the ship. (Preparation music comes up here)
‘Can you see that, MacGyver?’ I asked.
‘Uh-uh,’ he replied. ‘That’s the ship.
‘Can you read the name? You know what the ship’s called?’
‘Gold Rush, I know.’
‘It’s big.’
‘It sure is. That’s were it’s going to be fought out.’
‘You think, we can find it there?’
‘I hope so, Mario. I sure hope so and not only the gold.’
Mammon got back on board with a radio in his hand.
‘Gold Rush, Gold Rush, this is Gold Bar over?’
Nothing happened. No respond.
‘I repeat Gold Rush, this Gold Bar, do you read me over?’
Nothing again.
‘Mr. Von Leer do you read me over.’
‘We read you over,’ Nikolaus Von Leer said.
‘We can see the ship, Mr. Von Leer. Can you place a few men on deck to help us out here? We succeeded in the mission.’
‘You mean?’
‘That’s right. We have MacGyver and his friends.’
‘Well done, Mammon. When will you get here?’
‘Within this and five minutes, Mr. Von Leer.’
‘Check! We’ll place a few man on deck to help you out.’
’10-4, Mr. Von Leer.’
(Here we hear John Williams Raiders of the Lost Ark track German Sub to Nazi hideout) At the ship they started to prepare everything to welcome us aboard. Several men got ready with their guns aiming at our boat. Erich and Nikolaus Von Leer got on deck to.
‘Come on, everybody let’s go. Get ready,’ Nikolaus said while clapping in his hands. Everybody did like they were told. Guns got loaded, held in two hands. Some of those guns were rifles held against the shoulder. Erich holds his gun stretched in front of them. Nikolaus looked around and grabbed his own gun from behind him. He places a clip to load it and pulls at the top of the barrel to charge it. Our boat was getting closer to the Gold Rush ship. From a distance the ship didn’t look that big but from up close, you really had to look up straight to see what was on deck.
‘The ship’s big,’ I said.
‘Like the Titanic,’ Sam said.
‘Titanic, Smitanic,’ Mike said.
We all got up and pushed forward. By all the pushing I almost got thrown overboard, but MacGyver holds me back by grabbing my arm just in time.
‘You all right?’
‘Yeah.’
The boat engine stopped and we were brought on board of the ship. They pulled on our clothes and pushed us around. I saw Nikolaus whispering something to Mammon. Mammon just nodded and went off board again. Not much later he came back on board. (the music fades away here) We were now standing there on the ship with guns aimed at us.
‘Well, well, MacGyver,’ Erich said. ‘surprised?’
‘To see you again?’ MacGyver asked. ‘Yeah, as a matter of fact I am. Why did you bother to get us? We’ve lost your trails at Disneyworld. You had the chance to have it all. You had the gold and the girls. You would’ve won.’
Erich laughed a little.
‘MacGyver, we know you too well. You would’ve found us in the end anyway. Then you would’ve came back for the girls and the gold.’
‘Just for the girls. Now answer my question. Why’d you bother to get us?’
‘It’s easy. Last night when we tried to kill the girls, Nikolaus gave me the idea of using the girls as bait to get you and his plan worked.’
‘My idea,’ Nikolaus said triumphing. ‘Now we can kill you as well.’
‘Where’s Allie?’ MacGyver asked.
‘She’s here somewhere,’ Erich said.
‘What are you gonna do with us?’ I asked.
‘You’ll be interrogated,’ Nikolaus said.
‘Why?’ MacGyver asked. ‘We got no answers to give.’
‘Oh, right. But there are a few accidents about to happen.’
‘Look, homeys,’ Mike said smiling. ‘Nothing is going to happen. We’ll just kick your sorry asses together.’
‘He’s right,’ Marcus said and called them, ‘homo’s.’
‘I said “homeys” not “homo’s”.’
‘Sorry.’
‘Very amusing,’ Nikolaus said. ‘But do you have any idea what this gold is worth on the black market?’
‘Ah, well, let me think,’ MacGyver said pretending he was thinking about it. ‘You got about fifty million dollars worth in gold that about ten times the market values… uh… five hundred million dollars? Half a billion dollars?’ he said surprised.
Sam thought of that number, plinked his eyes several times and gulped loudly.
‘Good guess,’ Nikolaus said, ‘but you’re wrong.’
‘How much is it then?’ Marcus wondered.
‘The correct answer to this question is not ten times the market values but a hundred times the market values.’
‘Then that is how much?’ I asked.
Everybody gave me a weird look.
‘Well excuse me, but I wasn’t an expert in maths.’
‘That’s then five thousand million dollars,’ Nikolaus said.
‘Five thousand million dollars?’ we all asked in chore and the whistled of astonishment.
‘I think I’m gonna faint,’ I said.
‘Me too!’ MacGyver said.
‘I won’t faint,’ Sam said.
‘Why?’ MacGyver asked.
‘What’s five thousand million dollars worth?’
‘About a hundred thousand times our houseboats and probably two hundred times Phoenix Foundations.’
‘Oh, in that case… catch me up dad, I think I’m gonna faint.’
Sam almost fainted and fell in his fathers arms.
‘Get of off me,’ MacGyver said and threw his son back on his feet.
‘Oh, goddammit, enough!’ Erich said. ‘Take them below, bring MacGyver to the engine room and tie the rest of them up in separated cabins.’
‘So, no drowning this time, huh?’ MacGyver asked.
‘Well, we can always do something special for you if the engine room isn’t good enough for you, ya know?’ Nikolaus said.
‘No, the engine room is good enough, for me. Don’t bother to go through all that troubles.’
‘Shut your mouth and come along,’ one of the henchmen said.
We all got below decks. Just like the ship that exploded a few days ago, inside it was a maze of halls and cabins.
‘Get back in there,’ a henchmen said to Andrea and pushed her brutally back in her cabin. Once she got pushed back in her cabin she got tied up with Allie again.
‘Alright, you two,’ another one said referring to Mike and Marcus, ‘in here.’
Mike, Marcus, MacGyver, Sam and I shared a look.
‘Get in!’ the henchman said pushing them inside another cabin.
‘Hey, man, you don’t need to push!’ Mike snapped at him.
‘Shut up and sit down!!’ the man said.
‘OK, but stop pushing us, alright?’ Marcus said.
‘Sit!’ the man snapped.
Mike and Marcus sat down and get tied up as well. They did the same thing with me and Sam in another cabin. They tied us back to back on chairs. Feet and hands.
‘What are you going to do with us?’ I asked.
‘Mr. Von Leer decides that.’
‘What are you gonna do with my father? Where you taking him?’ Sam asked.
‘To the engine rooms below the waterline.’
‘The engine rooms?’ I asked.
‘Mr. Von Leer decided that MacGyver will get a very special treatment.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘If you can hear your father scream, you know what I mean.’
The henchman laughed, left and locked the cabin door. Sam and I shared a look.
‘I wonder what they’re up to,’ I said.
‘So do I. That makes two of us,’ Sam replied.
‘What do you think, they’re gonna do with MacGyver or us?’
‘I don’t know.’
‘We have to get out of here.’
‘I know. But how?’
‘I wouldn’t know. Usually there’s always something to work with, according to your father that is.’
‘Yeah, well let’s see. We got a bed, a mirror, a table, two chairs and a cupboard with no cups but bottles in.’
‘And more. That seems enough for me to work with.’
‘Absolutely,’ Sam said.
(Dark music comes up here)
‘Down there,’ Nikolaus said to MacGyver making him going of a flight of stairs.
‘What’s going to happen to Sam and the others?’ he asked.
‘Oh, they’ll uh… they’ll suffer each one of them the same fate as you will and if not they will be drowned, thrown over board.’
MacGyver was starting to feel uncomfortable. This might get more difficult then expected. They got down the stairs and came in front of a door. Von Leer opened the door and the engine room was now visible. He pushed MacGyver in there. MacGyver was forced to sit down on a chair and some men tied him up. While they tied him down his knife

fell out of his pocket. Von Leer bended through his knees.
‘What do we have here?’ he wondered then his face cleared up. ‘Thanks for your knife

. I always wanted to have something like this.’
MacGyver gave him a nasty look. He received a hard right hand in his face from one of the men because of it. His look just became more nastier. Nikolaus Von Leer held his men back.
‘Let him be for now. Come on, let’s get out of here. We’ll come back later. Then we’ll turn up the heat.’
MacGyver frowned.
‘Turning up the heat?’ he whispered in himself while Von Leer and his men disappeared. (The music fades away)
‘As if this engine room isn’t hot enough!’ he yelled at them after they left.
He was right, you know. It was hot in the engine room. Sweat broke out on his face. He was making faces while he tried to get his hands free.
‘If I can get my hands sweaty enough, then I can probably get free.’
MacGyver looked around for something to work with. He found a pen on a box not so far from him.
‘A pen, eh?’
MacGyver smiled.
In Mike and Marcus’s cabin they didn’t knew what to do without their guns. They were just sitting there, tied back to back trying to figure a way out.
‘This is great, Mike,’ Marcus said, ‘how are we going to escape?’
‘Why are you letting me doing all the thinking work?’ Mike asked. ‘Think for yourself and come up with your own ideas.’
‘You never like my ideas.’
‘If you just come up with something to get off these ropes, it would be a big help.’
‘Getting off these ropes doesn’t mean we’re outta here, ya know?’
‘But it would be a big help.’
‘Mike, how’d they escape in Die Hard?’
‘In Die Hard they didn’t use ropes but handcuffs. They used a hair pin or something to get away. But these aren’t handcuffs but ropes. It should be easier to get away now since we’re not handcuffed.’
‘That might work in our advantage. OK, if we do the opposite of what they did to us, we might get loose.’
Mike sighed and rolled his eyes.
‘Did you figure that out by yourself? F*cking idiot.’
‘If you wanna do all the thinking work then go ahead.’
‘Yeah, well maybe I should.’
‘Then how are we going to get out of here?’
‘Forget it. It’s no use talking to you. Don’t you have anything in your pockets?’
Marcus just thought of something.
‘As a matter of fact, I do, Mike,’ he said smiling
Mike was surprised.
‘You do?’
‘Yeah, and maybe you have it too.’
‘What the f*ck are you talking about?’
Now Marcus shook his head.
‘Don’t you got any bullet clips on you?’
‘Yes, I have. And?’
Mike slowly began to understand. ‘Wait a minute! I’m getting it.’
‘Oh, yeah? Then you know what the f*ck I’m talking about.’
Mike understood it now. ‘Now, I get it. You want to use the bullet clips to wriggle between the ropes to get them loose. Not bad, Marcus.’
Mike and Marcus laughed.
‘Hehehehehehehe.’
‘There’s just one little problem, Marcus,’ Mike said laughing.
‘Oh, yeah? What is it?’
‘With our hands tied to our back, Marcus,’ Mike started.
‘Yeah?’
‘We can’t f*cking reach them.’
Marcus’s joy was over.
A few cabins further Allie and Andrea were tied up as well but they were sitting in front of each other.
‘So what happened?’ Allie asked.
‘They used me to get them,’ Andrea answered.
‘Is MacGyver here?’
‘Yeah, somewhere on the ship and his son and friends too.’
Allie nodded.
‘Why are you nodding?’
‘It probably won’t take long before MacGyver gets free and help us out.’
‘You seem so certain. What makes you so sure of it?’
‘MacGyver’s gifts are so known around his friends. It’s his job to get peoples or himself out of dangerous situations.’
‘I hope you’re right.’
‘I know, I’m right. I know my nephew.’
‘So what do you have in mind?’ I asked to Sam.
‘Oh, I don’t know. We’ve got plenty to work with but with all those possibilities, I don’t know what to choose.’
‘Come on.’
‘Let’s get this ropes loose, shall we?’
‘Gladly but how?’
‘You see that small mirror over there in that corner?’
‘Yeah.’
‘If we can break it, we could use the pieces to cut us free.’
‘As long we don’t cut our wrists.’
‘Ready?’
‘For what?’
‘We gotta get over there.’
‘How?’
‘Can you get up?’
‘Getting up maybe. But my hands are still tied to the chair.’
‘We both get up, now,’ Sam said. (MacGyverism music comes up hear from the Easy Target clip from the Hind-Sight episode)
So we got up with our chairs and everything. We were standing there now.
‘Now jump slowly to the mirror.’
I jumped to the mirror and Sam followed me.
‘Can you take it off the wall?’
‘I’ll try.’
With my mouth I tried to get the mirror of the wall. I had it between my teeth but couldn’t get it off. ‘I can’t get it off, Sam. You try with me, now.’
‘Alright. Then when we have it, we throw it on the ground.’
‘OK.’
Again I took the mirror in my mouth but this time Sam helped me out.
‘OK, now, ready?’ he asked through his teeth.
‘Uh-uh!’
We threw the mirror against the ground where it shatters in pieces. (The music fades away here)
‘Alright!!’ I cheered.
‘Now, take a piece and cut yourself loose.’
I didn’t hesitated for a second and grabbed a piece of the mirror to cut myself loose. In a matter of only a few seconds Sam and I were loose again.
‘OK, we’re loose now. Now what?’ I asked.
‘Those ropes was a piece of cake but now that door. That’s another pair of sleeves.’
‘I got an idea!’
‘Let’s hear it.’
‘We wait until someone comes back, we grab him, knock him unconscious and then we’re outta here.’
Sam thought of it.
‘Good idea! But… who knows how long it takes before they come and check on us.’
‘Oh, you could be right.’
‘Let’s just see what they got in the cupboard.’
We opened the cupboard.
‘Alcohol,’ I said while holding the bottle. ‘Can’t refuse it.’
‘Don’t drink that. It’s not that kind of alcohol. But it gives my an idea though.’
‘Are you thinking what I’m thinking?’
‘Maybe. What do you have in mind?’
‘We place the bottle of alcohol to the keyhole and with a piece of that rope or something as a fuse we light them on and wait for it to blow a hole in the door.’
‘My thought exactly.’
‘Yeah, right.’
‘Right.’
Sam shook smiling his face and took a piece of rope.
‘Hey, Sam, do you got any

ductape?’
‘Yeah.’
With some ductape, we attached the bottle near the key lock and used the in soaked alcohol rope as a fuse.
‘Damn it!’ I said.
‘What?’
‘I don’t got any matches.’
‘Don’t worry, I got a lighter.’
‘Since when do you smoke?’
‘Who says I do? Lighters are useful for more things then just smoking. They’re a good replacement for matches and they’ll last longer.’
‘Tell that to your father.’
‘I did.’
‘And?’
‘He wouldn’t believe me.’
‘Oh.’
Sam lighted up the fuse. (MacGyverism music comes up here again)
‘Alright, take some cover.’
I knocked over the table and we ducked behind it waiting for the moment it would blow open. We peeped over the edge of the table. We ducked away again but still nothing happened. Sam and I peeped over the edge again and shared a look from out our eye corners. (The music reaches his peak) Then suddenly BOOM! the alcohol exploded and the door got blown open.
‘Piece of cake,’ I said.
‘Simple as that.’
We jumped over the table, to the door. Sam slowly opened it and looked through it. He looked left and right to see if the coast is clear.
‘Coast clear?’ I asked.
‘Yeah, I think so. I don’t see anybody.’
‘Let’s go then.’ (Slow tense music comes up)
We stepped out of the cabin, our eyes darting in every direction to see if there was danger nearby or not. Suddenly the door at the end of the hallway got open. We froze. A henchman came out. He was stunned as well. A silence went through the hallway. The silence got broken by the henchman’s voice.
‘You’re free?’
Sam and I didn’t bothered say anything, so we ran back to our cabin. The henchman took his machinegun, taking off the safety, loading it and started to fire. He missed. We ended up back in our cabin. The henchman came to our cabin fast-paced. At the door he stopped. He looked inside. Nothing was there to see. Well duh… we were hiding behind the door. He stepped in and slowly he proceeded in his steps. (The music's tension rises) When he was nearly in front of us, I grabbed him from behind be his shoulders and pressed him against the wall. Sam balled up his fist and rammed it against the man’s nose, knocking him out cold with a nosebleed. The man collapsed.
‘Alright, get him on the bed,’ Sam said.
I dragged him onto the bed, while Sam took some more

ductape. He taped his legs together, his hands and covered his mouth with another piece of ductape. We checked his body in search of a possible key but he didn’t had one eventually. We were willing to get out of the cabin again but another henchman showed up.
‘If he comes this way, I get to hit his light out, alright?’ I said.
‘Whatever.’
We waited patiently for him to come and indeed, he stepped in but only because he saw his pal laying there on the bed. Without thinking he went to him.
‘Hey, what happened?’ he asked wondering if his friend would gain consciousness again.
‘Hey!’ I said.
The henchman looked behind him and stood up.
‘You wanna know what happened?’
‘Yeah.’
‘Well, this happened,’ I said and I grabbed him, hitting his lights out. ‘Next to his pal, I guess?’
‘No,’ Sam answered thinking, ‘let’s keep this one on the ground.’
He just did like before, taping the guy up. We checked his clothes too and with him we founded a key that belonged to us now. Then we got out of there looking for the others.
(Music changes again in somewhat relieving music)
In the meantime MacGyver succeeded in getting to the pen. He got it in his mouth and dropped it behind his back, caught it in his hands. He wriggled it between the ropes and kept doing that until he got loose.
‘Hehehehe!!!’ MacGyver laughed, he was free. ‘I knew it.’
He ran to the door, but it was sealed tight. (Music becomes suspenseful again) He turns around 180 degrees and leans angrily concentrating against it. He wasn’t out of there yet, he’s knife got taken away and he still didn’t found the meaning of what Von Leer said to him. “Turning up the heat.”
‘I wonder what they’re up to with that heat. No good, anyway. I can’t pick open the door, cos they got my knife taken away. Think, MacGyver, think.’
What did he had to do?
‘This is an engine room, so there must be a lot to work with here. Toolbox or anything.’
He searched for a toolbox, but by the time he found one, the door got open. He hid behind a few crates when Mammon first entered the engine room. He was surprised of what he saw. MacGyver was gone!
‘Mr. Von Leer, he is gone!!’ he yelled.
‘What?’ Nikolaus said out loud.
‘That can’t be!’ Erich said. ‘The door was still locked.’
‘Then where the hell is he?’ Mammon asked.
‘Check him out! He still gotta be here.’
Mammon took his gun as well as a few other and started to look for MacGyver. Nikolaus brought something in, that looked like a barbecue.
MacGyver peeped over the crates to see what Nikolaus brought in.
‘Get it ready,’ he said to one of his men.
‘What is that, a barbecue?’ MacGyver whispered in himself.
MacGyver observed the whole setting of what they were up to. The barbecue-like thing had something like in a sauna. Hot charcoals. A poker was taken out of it’s box and set on it.
‘No!’ MacGyver whispered.
He realised what they were about to do with him. They were going to brand him for life.
‘Oh, no, they’re not going to that. No way.’
MacGyver didn’t know what to do. He surely wouldn’t give them the pleasure of getting him again. So there was only one way to get out and that was to go for it.
‘I won’t let them,’ he whispered while he got outraged.
‘I won’t let you!!!’ he screamed while he came out of his hiding place. (Music becomes tense just like in The Outsiders where the girl falls in the pit and then changes into the music from the fight in Trail to Doomsday then from the escape after he founded Tony Graves dead.)
Everybody looked in his direction. Mammon came to him to receive a right hand blow, that struck him down. Another henchman came towards MacGyver, but got slugged down by a left hand. MacGyver crawled upon the crates and kicked another one right in the face with his foot. He jumps off and headbutts the fourth men in his stomach. MacGyver growls when he forces him against the wall, he kneed him in the groin and hits him in the face with a left hand. Mammon stood up again and grabs MacGyver by his right shoulder. With the back of his hand he slugged Mammon in the face, another left hand connected with his jaw just like the right hand. Mammon fell against the wall. MacGyver kicks over the barbecue-like thing. Hot pieces of coal end up against the skins of the Von Leer brothers and the peoples around it. It hits the skins but only just barely. MacGyver didn’t hesitate to run for the door but there an unexpected obstacle interrupted his escape. When he was near the door a giant fist hits him in the face, right upon his nose. MacGyver fell backwards, kept his hand against his nose. He was bleeding though. MacGyver was surprised but tried to give another go for it. He ran up to the man and hits him back in the face real hard. MacGyver received another one back. Not willing to give up easily, he tried one more time by pushing the man against the wall and hits him again. The man hits MacGyver again, harder then before. MacGyver was nearly unconscious but tried to get up again. He sat there on his knees with his head down, struggling to get back on his feet but with a quick reaction of Mammon, he got knocked out by the back of Mammons handgun. MacGyver fell flat on the floor with his lights out.
(The music reaches it's peak as we fade out)
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
