Well this is the last part and where I couldn't finish the ending.. All help is welcomed to finish the story!

With a renewed burst of energy Pete and Jack hopped in and they were off.

"Let's see if we can find the final group member." Mac announced.

Taking the only item out of the box, Ben's pinkee ring, Jack opened the envelope, took the riddle and read it to Mac and Pete. "Marching, marching is all you hear. Death comes and goes but that’s more then Major Taylor has to fear. Facing Ben is a gun ready to shoot. If you fail it will be a real hoot. So what do you think?"

"It sounds like an army base to me, how about you?" Pete hinted taking the envelope to read the riddle for himself.

"That sounds like our best bet." Mac reacted by turning south down Smith. "How far is the base from here, Pete?"

"It's about a twenty minute drive." Pete answered.

It only took them about ten minutes to reach the base with Mac breaking all speed limits along the way. He was thankful the roads were quiet for two in the morning.

The corporal came charging out of the gate office when he saw the men bounce out of the truck and run towards the gate. "Where do you think you are going?" Demanded the corporal blocking the entrance.

"We have to get in. There is a mad man holding Major Taylor hostage!"

"No one gets in without a pass." The corporal held his ground.

"If I may introduce myself, my name is Pete Thorton of the Phoenix Foundation. If you could call Major Taylor's office and see if he is there, it would be most appreciated. He will know who we are." Pete requested showing the corporal his Phoenix photo identification card.

"Wait a minute, I'll be back." The corporal was back in a few minutes. "He's not answering the phone. I guess he's not finished his special meeting. he had with a man."

"Would this man be about six foot two, dark hair and a scar across his face?" Mac wondered pointing out where the scar would be on his own face.

"Yes, he does. I remember that because when he came in I asked him where he got it. He replied saying he got it in Vietnam."

"He didn't get in Vietnam! He got it in a semi explosion! And there is no meeting! This man is named Murdoc and he is very dangerous! Murdoc will kill Major Taylor with no hesitation! He almost got Pete and me if it wasn't for Mac here! So are you going to let us in or will Major Taylor die?" Jack questioned.

"O.k., I'll let you in, but if you get caught I'll deny ever seeing you."

"O.k.." Mac agreed.

The corporal returned to the gate office and opened the gate just enough for the three of them to squeeze through.

Taking them almost twenty minutes to get through the front gate they still had no idea where to look.

"Where to?" Pete questioned pointing to various buildings around them.

"If I were Murdoc holding Taylor, where would you go?" Jack asked.

"Well he wouldn't make it the obvious place." Mac put in.

"But what would that place be though?" Pete remarked. "Well the different buildings that are here are the armoury, the brig, and the local hospital."

"Well it won't be the armoury, that would be obvious, wouldn't it?" Jack piped.

"That's true and he wouldn't be stupid enough to put the Major in the hospital." Mac articulated, pointed to the only building left. "It has to be the brig."

The building he was pointing at was the one directly in front of them.

Starting off at a slow jog they headed off towards the brig. When they managed to get to the primary door, they had no difficulty opening it up. They veered in making absolutely sure there wasn't anything waiting for them inside.
