MacGyver returned to the line up of Super Bowl commercials for a second time this year.

Unlike his first appearance for MasterCard, this years appearance was for Pepsi Cola, as a guest appearance of Saturday Night Live’s MacGruber. A send up skit segment which has been running on SNL for some time now.

RDA was part of all 3 of the MacGruber-Pepsi skits which where made for the Super Bowl XLIII, but only the second skit ended up being aired.

It seems that these 3 commercials have created a bit of chatter around the internet about the mixing of advertising with TV shows.

According to this report Pepsi have already said they feel this wasn't a one off deal, and they are keen to look at not only using more SNL content as advertising, but also other shows.

It would seem this was a bit of an advertising MacGyverism which might be here to stay.
