You may remember back in November we posted about RDA being part of the
Quench the Fire Charity run/ walk.
I've received an update from the organizers of that event; It turns out that an off-spin of this event has enabled them to donate 2 tickets to Disneyland to the "Challengers Boys and Girls Club" in California.
I'd bet money that RDA had something to do with
that!

Here's the full email.
Hello everybody.
We’re glad to bring a new piece of information to our donors’ attention in regard to the latest follow up of the Purple Heart Project, which you have made possible.
When the USC Quench the Fire committee gave people the opportunity to fundraise for their efforts, they had also decided on a couple of small prizes for the fundraisers, as a way to show their gratitude for their efforts.
While no one saw these efforts as a contest of any kind, they had symbolically established that anyone surpassing the $1,000 mark in fundraising would get two tickets to Disneyland in CA.
As you all may know, the Purple Heart ended up being successful beyond anyone’s dreams and through your generosity, effort, dedication and loyalty it has brought the largest donation total to the charity, well beyond the $1,000 mark.
Our efforts have been collective, from the inspiration to take a step forward and act, to acting on it and making a difference. There is no one person who can take credit for what has been achieved and everyone’s implication ranges from one end of the spectrum to the other. The truth is the project would not have enjoyed the staggering success without every SINGLE one of your efforts.
Therefore, accepting the symbolic prize by anyone was not possible. However, in the spirit of what we wished our project to mean, the Purple Heart accepted the Disneyland tickets as a group and also as a group has donated them to a children’s charity in California, “Challengers Boys and Girls Club”, with the most sincere hope that the small gift will bring a smile to a child’s face.
We continue to be proud that we’ve had the chance to come together as a group, make a difference that seemed almost surreal and dare to dream of a world without pain for those that we love. There is no greater joy but rekindled hope in human nature and you have truly made a difference.
With endless gratitude,
The Purple Heart Project.
