We all know what tricks Mac could pull off using chewing gum, but did you know that at one point during the late eighties, early nineties MacGyver had his own chewing gum?
I'm not sure where the gum came from, but I'm sure it was sold at least out here in Belgium.
The tablets of gum were seperatly packed and about an inch and a half long and an inch wide. Inside the wrapper, a sticker was wrapped around the gum. I remember that a lot of eighties/nineties cultural icons had this kind of gum, from the Ninja Turtles to the Terminator.
MacGyver gum was special though, because instead of a still from the show, the stickers featured illustrations of 'MacGyverisms'!
I only remember a few of them though...
One illustrated that if you were out hiking and didn't have water to drink, you had to bind handkerchieves around you ankles and walk through the grass during the morning. That way, you collected the dew from the grass, which you could drink after wringing out the handkerchieves.
Another one gave youngsters a tip on how to put something in someone's drink. I kid you not. I'm not gonna go into too much detail, but it involved filling an empty teabag with whatever powder you wanted to put into the drink and attaching it to your wrist before pouring out the poor soul's drink. Stil can't believe that one got through child safety...
Lastly, I remember that there was also a sticker with an illustration that showed how you could open a locked with a bank card.
I'm doubt that every 'MacGyverism' came from the show but that didn't really matter. I remember considering those stickers to be like pages from a 'How to become MacGyver' book

I know I hid my collection of stickers in a secret place. Sadly, we all know what happens when kids hide something in a secret place... They get lost. I figure they're still hidden in some comic book in my parents' attic or something...
Anyway, does anyone of you remember these MacGyver chewing gum stickers?
If so, what 'MacGyverisms' can you still recall?
